ICON CLASS UPDATE
The Cruise Junkie replied to The Cruise Junkie's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Here is the latest update from @Matt on Project Icon. With the blocks for the ship slowly arriving at the shipyard in Finland we should see major work start to take place later this summer and maybe an official update/name of the ship when the keel-laying takes place. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2021/05/25/blocks-arrive-shipyard-royal-caribbeans-first-icon-class-cruise-ship -

The Cruise Junkie replied to twangster's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Great Pics Twangster! It is awesome to have RCG ships back in PC even thought that may just be for a few days as usually for the past month its been just DCL ships off the coast. -
Favorite ship and why?

Navigator (Post Amp) for me. -
Sad to hear if true but it Makes sense as Tampa can only handle smaller ships and the major lines will most likely start up with bigger ships that are better for distancing and another thing to keep in mind with Tampa is the port is consider by most of the cruise lines as a secondary market in the industry.

ICON CLASS UPDATE
The Cruise Junkie replied to The Cruise Junkie's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I think maybe Canaveral at first in the USA as it will have the most experience with LNG refueling of cruise vessels but also Miami could be used as one as Carnival is putting there second XL class ship there. So I assume the port will now be able to handle this type of vessel. But my guess is one day Port Miami will get one of these vessels as this will be near the size of the Oasis class. Here is a video that proves this is the one of the largest ships that are going to be sailing soon. -

Not RCI but wow Carnival Corporation to remove more ship. Now I wonder what ships will be sent to the scrapyard or sold to another cruise line not under the Carnival Corporation flag. https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/23505-carnival-to-further-accelerate-ship-exits-18-vessels-to-leave.html

Sovereign Has Been Beached
The Cruise Junkie replied to Jjohnb's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Here is reportedly a diagram of ships to be scrapped in Aliaga for the next few mouths. I found this pretty interesting as it looks like by October the Sovereign will be all gone. https://www.instagram.com/p/CE7p5H_BLa6/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link -

The Cruise Junkie replied to Leroyr55's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Yes it was St. Kitts. The ships were the Vison and the Rhapsody. I Guess royal is holding off on their cool layup for a few more weeks. -

They sure do! The Pullmantur horizon and Carnival imagination that are set for there too have not yet been beached there as there is no room. -
Status of Majesty of the Seas
The Cruise Junkie replied to Jjohnb's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
As of right now majesty and symphony ots is a floating hotel for a while to house crew that don't want to head back to their home country's according to this video by a crew member -
I Guess If They Really Wanted To Send Another Quantum Class Ship To FL From The West Coast And Save Some Money They Could Go Around The Cape. I Know Carnival Sent The Panorama Around The Cape Last Year Without Going Though The Canal As She Could Not Make It The Panama Canal As I Believe The Lifeboats Were A Few Feet Too Long.
