  1. Yea I noticed that too. Wasn't sure it that was just Indy, just UK cruises, or if its been rolled out across the fleet
  2. I know you certainly where able to bring your own skates and use them in the seaplex during roller skating times (One person on our cruise on Anthem did this and put us all to shame, flying round backwards while I was just trying to stay upright.) Whether or not you can still do this I'm not sure, I would doubt you'd be able to use the running track for skating but I'd say there's no harm in asking
  3. /\ This. One of the reasons I like the Wow band so much. I could leave everything in the room and not have to keep and eye on my bag or anything like that
  4. Wow, thats a big move. Didn't think they'd go back on that one but I guess from seeing some of the comments from people who felt cheated by the glitch maybe they saw this as an opportunity to gain some favour back. A big Cheers to everyone who manged to pick up the reduced rate, let the Lava Flows......flow
  5. All depends on the port/destination as to how long a walk you'd have. Some can have a 5-10 minute walk and you'd be right into the town, others can be a bit further out and you'd need to grab a taxi if you wanted to go to a particular nearby beach With regards to the stroller, we usually just bring one of those foldable umbrella strollers with us, can be stored easy in the stateroom and I always feel its better to have something and not need it than to need it and not have it
  6. I believe Matt got his as part of a giveaway https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2018/06/07/fun-finds-royal-caribbean-monopoly-edition Haven't seen it on sale anywhere as yet
  7. Hmm, not a fan of that response. Yes its a benefit for suite guests for this sailing but when you compare it to sailings out of any other ports its actually a restriction and really should be getting flagged. People are not going to know this and will assume that access to facilities on board would be the same as if they sailed out of USA/UK/Europe which they may have done previously and would not be aware that the Asian sailing are fundamentally different in ways, not just with regards to the Solarium
  8. Not sure on that one, you'd be talking about replacing every stateroom lock with an RFID pad. If the can do that would be amazing as I really like the Wow Bands but I'd really hate to be the contractor who would say they could get that done in 68 days. You'd be talking doing about 36/37 rooms a day
  9. I'm really sorry things went south for you Before the website update the UK site was very difficult to navigate and understand, often timing out and losing the information that you had just entered on the form. If you ever do consider cruising again, and I hope you do, I cant say enough good things about a cruise holiday experience, I would certainly push for a TA who will fight all these battles for you with regards to bookings, glitches and anything else they can throw at them. Hope whatever you end up doing for your holiday turns out great but I do hope you give cruising another go some day, best of luck :)
  10. I used the Website for my first 2 cruises, on the first 1 had had no issues and everything went smoothly, on the second there were issue. Amount on invoices did match what they had on their system, I owed more than the statements they sent to me stated, transfers I'd booked apparently weren't book... bit of a nightmare. Since I've switched to using a TA (Mostly from being on here and reading peoples advice) its been smooth, well at least for me, maybe the TA is fighting off all these things that previously I had to but if they are they are doing it very well and keeping the stress of me and the family. Its certainly something I'd now recommend to others now as its no extra cost for you and makes things soo much easier. I really hope you get everything sorted as a cruise can be such a relaxing/fun/exciting way to holiday. Don't give up on it
  11. Best way to do it is if you don't already have the drinks packages, go on to the Cruise planner and grab it at the lowest price you see. After that, keep checking, if a better sale come along you can cancel you're previous purchase which will refund your money and you can repurchase at the lower sale price. Cruise planner sales happen all the time and sometimes without warning, they are also not always fleet wide and can be for certain sailings or sailings a certain amount of time out
  12. Hehe, love how that loophole is still open after all this time. But then I wonder if much work has been done on the RoyalIQ app or have IT been retasked with the new Royal App
  13. Aww, our Allure sailing in October still showing the Drink package as £45. I shall keep a close eye on this though
  14. Sunglasses, its always sunglasses for me. I have so many pairs at home cause I don't remember to bring them with me and after the 2nd day I have to buy some cause I cant see outside
  15. Always heard a tid bit from working in bars, took it as gospel at the time so not sure if its actually true but apparently if the ice cube has a divot or indent in it it indicates that its been made though a filtered process. If its flat on all sides then its tap water. Anyone else hear something like this or have I been carrying this useless/untrue information around with me all these years?
  16. They do make exceptions at times for Medical reasons or Religious reasons, but if its a preference thing they may not. Either way, you have to call them in order only purchase 1 of the drinks packages on, the cruise planner wont let you do it. Never hurts to ask I guess, go for it and see what they say
  17. Was there any mention of addition of Solo cabins? Wasn't able to see any mention of them but maybe they're just announcing the major facility changes at this point?
  18. Promotions will always be changing and with that the nature of the offer and the price will change with it. If you browse the boards you'll see multiple threads for the drinks packages, watching and waiting for it at the right price. All sales end and the items will return to their RRP but the good thing is its never too long a wait till the next sale. Keep you're eye out and I would say that the BOGO dining option may return in time for your sailing
  19. My friends sister in law is a travel agent and I know shes done a couple when new ships have come over to the UK. Gets them on board so they can experience the ship and all it offers so they can go back to their clients with proper experiences. Not sure how often they do those kind of sailings after that though
  20. Doesn't just seem to be UK that the prices jumped either. I've been keeping an eye on a 2020 sailing from Barcelona and this morning when I looked at it again the price jumped up higher than I had seen it before. At the start of the week it had dropped to, can only assume that the announcement to move Indy out of the UK in 2020 has prompted the price jump. Either that or its very very coincidental The price for the sailings for Anthem for 2020 are just insane. I'd love to go back on but I just cant swing that amount. Big jump from when she was here last time
  21. Port days are a great time to experience the ship when its less crowded. Pools will certainly be opened along with the pool bars (weather permitting of course), other bars will be open as well but there may be a couple that will open later in the day. With regards to activities I'd recommend having a look at a old Cruise Compass for a similar sailing, take a look at one for a port day and you'll be able to see what sort of activities they'll have on over these days for you. Also as a side note, you might get lucky a score a bit of discount for the Spa or a Restaurant, the crew will sometime wander round offering a bit of discount if you come that day/night
  22. Over a £1.50 phone call where the money most likely went to British Telecom, not Royal Caribbean
  23. No, an 03 number is considered local, those numbers where created specifically to avoid the changes you incur from 084, 087, 09 and 118 number. Those 4 number have an "Access charge" so as soon as your call is answered you are instantly changed whatever amount the company as set up which cal be a lot. An example would be that the UKs directory enquiry is a 118 number and changes £4.99 access change and then £4.99 per minute so almost £10 just to find out the telephone number of a restaurant The 0344 493 4005 would just fall under whatever phone plan you have at home or on your mobile and how Local calls are managed by the plan. The only thing Royal could do differently is set up a freephone number which not a lot of companies do over here anymore. If you didn't want to call the number you can always request a call back from Royal, that way they call you and you don't have to worry about any call changes or waiting on hold. Ways and means around things if people want to look
  24. I sailed on Harmony out of Barcelona in October and I'll be on Allure out of Barcelona next October
