Our last cruise in 2019 there was a hurricane east of Jamaica. I believe it was 300-400 miles away and they still kept us aware of the situation. I always pack extra clothes anyway so getting stuck for a couple extra days would just mean a longer vacation for me.

I have noticed there is no option for the UDP or even a 3 night package on my LoS sailing in Aug. 2022. Is this something that becomes available closer to sailing date or are they just not offering it?

I always tip directly to the crew member I want to receive the money.

It is human nature to try and "get your money's worth"
I feel this way with the DBP, I rarely drink on land but I try a little bit of everything if I have the drink package. Maybe its a combination of being free for 7 nights and getting my moneys worth.

The DBP dropped to 50 on my Liberty sailing. I don't see the UDP as an option though.

Wow! You sold me for sure. Was there any time afterward to go snorkeling? I would love to try and do both, because Cozumel has amazing marine life. Thanks for the photos!
I believe we had a couple of hours after the excursion before we had to be back on the ship but after being in the sun the entire day and doing a little shopping we were beat.

I am looking at this excursion for August. Did you do it?
Yes! It was an amazing time! The entire group saved over 100 turtles and we released them into the ocean. There is a stop on the way back that was pretty cool. Its a demonstration of the Mayans way of life and they have a Tequila tasting as well. Just be ready to dig in the sand as deep as you can reach with your hands, those nests are pretty deep!

Nope. Since it was a casino comp the only thing they will do is reinstate the offer that was used in the original booking. No price protection or shifting for a casino comp. I'm ok with it. Chances are I would have had to cancel anyway unless the vax protocols lighten up, which I do NOT expect.
Have they said how they will handle cancelations due to the entire vax issue? I have 2 cruises booked and will only go if things lighten up.

Still have 403 and 578 until our next cruises

It's funny.....we can get them anytime we want, but both my wife and I can take them or leave them. They're kind of a pita to eat, and it takes at least two to make a meal.
We've never felt like eating them on lobster night even though, as I understand, it's just the tails (I think).
Our last cruise our waitress was cutting the meat out of the tails for us when she delivered them. I was like....I can do it. LOL is that normal for them to do that?

I'll never get my teeth whitened.
I'll never forget that I'm on vacation and none of us know how many more cruises we have, I'll stay in a suite, buy the Drink and Dining package.
I'll never forget my 2 rules onboard.
1. Don't be an A--hole
2. Make it back to my room under my own power.

Perks are the same, however, I have heard from others that in the Royal Suites (non Oasis/Q class), you sometimes get escorted by the suite concierge on/off the ship. That is unpublished and something I noted from others.
I was looking at it but I just cant justify the extra 3500 dollars and we still have addons to purchase. Just doing one last sailing on her before our Star class cruise on Allure.

My wife and I stay at Springhill Suites by Marriott in Webster, just south of Houston many times. It is just one block off interstate with many different restaurants nearby. We get up eat breakfast and in 32 mins be at Cruise Terminal.
Thats exactly what we do. Dinner at Saltgrass the night before.

I have a Grand suite 1 bedroom booked next year on Liberty and noticed the Royal Suite is available. From what I have read the perks are the same for both suites. Is this correct?

Is it true that suites earn double points? So a 5 night cruise in a balcony gives 5 points x2 for the Covid boost giving a total of 10 loyalty points. Now if it is a JR suite I get the for mentioned 10 X 2 for the suite giving my 10 loyalty points. Is that correct?
Thanks
Paul
Yes, you would receive 4 points per night in a suite during the x2 points.

So basically most of the ship is off limits unless you are vaccinated...You cant even do My Time Dining without a vaccine. I really hope this is very temporary. We thought about scheduling a second cruise in 2022 but not knowing how long this will last I'm not sure I'll do it.

So I am looking at Alaska in August 2022 to surprise my wife for her birthday and our Anniversary. Looking at the 7 night Glacier cruises. The only difference I am seeing is Ovation vs Quantum and different stops along the way. For those who have been to Alaska, which Itinerary would you recommend?
August 22, Icy Strait Point, Skagway, Endicott, Juneau on Quantum
August 26, Sitka, Skagway, Endicott and Juneau on Ovation

I'm so glad we moved our cruise out to 2023, hopefully this will all be over by then.

Our favorite thing we did in Cozumel was saving baby sea turtles. I believe they only offer it during certain times of the year but it was really cool.
-
I have added passengers to our existing booking with 3+ booked and they added them no problem at the same rate as passenger 3 and I didn't have to pay an additional deposit.

You all should go down to your local archery shop and do some shooting. I shoot in my backyard all the time and my daughter competed in school. Its a great sport to get into!

Travel Insurance for a cruise

I have always purchased the insurance through Royal and I'll admit I haven't looked at this close enough. I see the coverage amounts of their plan and have looked at Allianz which mentions Epidemic Coverage Endorsement and I don't see that on Royals Vacation Protection plan. Does Royal cover this and I assume all of these plans require you to pay out of pocket and then you are reimbursed after filing the claim?
