  1. I  really liked the expedited service at night in the main dining room!  And food was very delicious for the most part!

But two of my favorite dishes were not on the menus on our recent cruise (Explorer of the seas, 9 night 2/09/24 sailing). The menus did not offer the duck a l'orange or lamb chops.  Are these items gone for good or was this just not offered on our cruise?  I will be disappointed if they are no longer offered.

  2. Thanks for responding!!

On Explorer Transatlantic,  is the ship maybe less crowded as compared to on it's regular  5-9 day cruises?

What about the entertainment? How many different shows/ acts.

Since the ship can not restock, does the main dining room  have a good variety throughout the entire voyage or are some things limited?

We would love any other information that you might have!  Thanks again!

  3. Can Royal Caribbean add new bars or restaurants to Explorer while it is sailing.  I don't see any breaks for dry dock in the next 2 years.

I have a reserved the transatlantic cruise April 30th 2025 and was hoping for some new places to have fun or eat!

My wish list would be to get Bamboo Room where there are shops. Also, get Playmakers where there are other shops. It seems that they could close off the shops with not any disturbance for passengers while constructing.

For eating, I wish for the Loco Fresh.  There are not enough options when the Windjammer is full.

  4. We are on the same sailing: Jewel of the Seas 7/18/2024

Yes 10:45 is fine for disembarking in Amsterdam.  I will book the Cruise Only transfer offered by Royal Caribbean on this same 10:45 am Delta flight for this same cruise on Jewel of the Seas. ( They will transfer passengers on flights leaving as early as 10:30am.

So to be safe, book the Royal Caribbean's transfer.  In my experience the transfers offered by Royal Caribbean get you to the airport in plenty of time. They do not take chances on people missing flights.

We'll see you on board and hopefully on the transfer.  Phillip

  5.     I know that we are allowed a 750ml bottle of wine per passenger in our carry-on.  But what about bringing maybe 4 split 186ml bottles which would equal the regular sized bottle of wine by volume.  Would this be allowed?

The splits (187 ml) are  easier to pack in our suitcases and we would be assured to have our favorite "champagne" to celebrate sail-away.

What is the actual policy?  Is it wine up to 750ml total or is it just the regular 750ml bottles that are allowed?

  6. To maybe answer my question:  It looks like Rotterdam is only about a 35-40 minute drive from the Amsterdam airport.  Rotterdam has a huge industrial port and could maybe support several cruise ships home-ported there.

Also Zeebrugge is another very large industrial port and It looks like it's only about 1 :10  from the Brussels airport.

It seems that Industrial ports would not mind the added pollution.     What do you think?

  7. Vote:

Put "Early" if you would like your cabin cleaned in the morning.                                                                                   Type "Late" if you prefer that your cabin steward cleans at night.

Next:  Record if you like or dislike the change to once a day cleaning:

Type "Like" if you prefer this change to once a day cleaning.                                                                                                            Put "Dislike" if you do not like this change.

       My votes:   Late    Like

  8.    We will like having the room cleaned only once a day. Especially on days at sea, we always felt that we had to leave our cabin so that the steward could clean when he needed to do so. We would often check back several time to see if the cabin was ready.

We would have much preferred to relax and enjoy our room, not worrying  about when the steward would arrive.

  9. Playmakers on Odyssey!!! What a great place to hang out!!!  This sports bar is on deck 16 above the SeaPlex and has outstanding views of the ocean ,in addition to the tv screens everywhere.

This is the best sports bar at seas in my opinion!

Does Royal Caribbean have plans to add Playmakers to the other Quantum ships? I have tentative plans to sail on Anthem of the Seas next year and would be disappointed if this was not on the ship.

It looks like it would be easy to add a Playmakers in the SeaPlex on the other Quantum ships as there is ample wasted room there. Maybe construction could be done without disturbing the activities in the SeaPlex below during regular sailings???

What do you know or think?

  10.

Diamond Plus members are still allowed in the Concierge Lounge when the ship officers determine that it will not be overcrowded.

Question:  On ships where D+ can use the Concierge lounge, are drinks free there during social hours, or do they require use of the vouchers? It seems that suite guests and maybe Pinnacle members do not have to pay there.*  ???

  11. We are going on the Enchantment 6 day cruise to Bermuda. We wish that the cruise was longer.  But we love Bermuda!

It is probably not possible for Royal Caribbean to schedule more dock time at Dockyard due to other ships needing space.

But 6 days is just not long enough for us!

So (the wish): Why not have a stop at Norfolk on the way to or from Bermuda?  Norfolk could offer shore excursions to Williamsburg, Virgina Beach, and much more!!!

I believe that Norfolk is probably 7 hours or so hours sailing time from Baltimore (Just a guess).

So, instead of our itinerary leaving at 1:00 on our last Bermuda day as it is now on our scheduled cruise,  we would maybe have some extra hours there, making it a  full day in Bermuda. Or if visiting Norfolk first, we would have a full day to begin our Bermuda visit.

And, we would enjoy Norfolk, another great port, making it a longer 7 day cruise.

      Any ideas?
