  1. I only use it for medicinal purposes. Don’t be such a prig.
  2. I personally don’t drink but I was on the Liberty OTS last week and saw them being sold.
  3. It’s probably unfair of you to post a story about something you are unhappy about on a cruise board and then get upset when people give their opinions. Next time just leave the story out if you don’t want people to comment. While I also agree with others that this issue should just be dropped, I hope that Royal somehow resolves the issue to your satisfaction.
  4. I’m going on Ovation to Alaska on July 18. Very excited
  5. I haven’t been before but I’m pretty sure they answer is yes to both questions ?
  6. My wife and son would never go with me on a Star Trek Cruise. I don’t think they would go for free.
  7. If I am not mistaken previous Star Trek themed cruises have been on Norwegian. So I am much more likely to go now as a big Star Trek fan and a Royal fan. But it is very expensive. Interesting that they are offering Single cabins. Do they have single cabins currently on the Explorer? I guess this must be right after the Royal Amplified Project?
  8. Hi all. I’m Jewish and traveling on the Jan 13 sailing of the Liberty of the Seas out of Galveston. One of my friends is more religious than I am. He doesn’t keep Kosher or anything but he does go to services every Friday night when he can. Does anyone know if Royal Caribbean still provides a place for Friday night services with candles and challah? They did before because my wife and I did it once before a very long time ago. I know there is no Rabbi or anything to lead the services. But want to know if they still do this. Thanks
  9. I’m at the same place as you. I’m a lowly Platinum and will be Emerald after our Alaska cruise in July
  10. It’s very difficult to have 12 people together for My Time Dining. I don’t know what happened when you tried to make reservations ahead of time. May I suggest you get two tables of 6 next to each other and maybe rotate the people around. Try to enjoy your cruise and not stress. Even if you aren’t all together at a table at least you are on vacation together
  11. I have never seen or heard of any roll away beds on Royal or any other cruise ship. I have heard of some people bringing blow up mattresses for the night and then put them away during the day. But I have no idea if Royal allows them or if there is an official policy on them. The biggest problem would be space for it depending on the type of cabin you have. Good luck.
  12. Tulum is better! It’s on the coast and has a nice breeze.
  13. Yeah that is a good point I forgot to mention. Has to be carry on only now
  14. They will allow you to bring water onboard. They have an official policy about it. And I did it as recently as this past July. I would not count on being allowed to bring any plug in power strips. Not many cruise lines allow it due to fire hazards. You can bring a USB hub without any problem usually. I copied this from Royal Caribbean’s website. One of the best things about cruising is the food! And there will be many dining options available to suit most tastes and preferences. However you are free to bring non-perishable prepackaged food in limited quantities. While we have many drink offerings onboard, you are welcomed to bring select beverages onboard. On boarding day, each stateroom may bring up to two 750 ml bottles of wine or champagne, as long as one guest is of legal drinking age. Corkscrews will be provided for guests to enjoy their drinks in their stateroom. If guests wish to enjoy their wine or champagne in our dining or bar venues, there will be a corkage fee applied. Guests may also bring non-alcoholic beverages as carry-on items on boarding day. Non-alcoholic beverages may not exceed 12 standard (17 oz.) cans, bottles or cartons per stateroom. Milk and distilled water brought on for infant, medical, or dietary use are permitted. Guests who purchase alcohol bottles onboard, in a port-of-call, or bring more than the two permitted bottles on boarding day, will have their items safely stored by the ship. These bottles will be returned on the last day onboard for enjoyment once home.
  15. Yeah you can always sue anybody even if you sign a waiver. It’s just supposed to scare you into thinking you can’t sue. But I totally agree that Royal probably isn’t at fault. America, land of the lawsuit. Japan produces 10 scientists for every lawyer and here is the US it’s the other way around.
  16. I would be happy to ride a roller coaster on a cruise ship, just not on Carnival. ?
  17. Freeport is 46 miles away from Galveston.
  18. May I ask where it was reported about Symphony ?
  19. My parents bought my family’s Alaska cruise coming up July 2019 on Ovation of the Seas for my family. My son had a Bar Mitzvah last year and this is their gift to him and us. We had a idea it was coming but my son didn’t. They send a letter in the mail to him (All of the family lives in Houston) and he was very happy and surprised.
  20. I just had another thought. Wouldn’t it be cool if maybe they brought a Celebrity ship to Galveston? At least maybe part time. Just a thought. I have no news or inside info. But I would to love to start cruising Celebrity more once my wife and are done raising the kids and travel more.
  21. I doubt we get an Icon class instead of Quantum or Oasis but I guess ya never know
