The Next Cruise guys don’t know anything.

I would love Celebrity to come to Galveston as well. My wife and I want to start cruising on Celebrity more after our son goes to college in a year and a half. Galveston has access to more people than some markets than for example, Tampa, which Celebrity currently sails out of so I don’t want to say never. But I doubt it.

I actually think Grand Cayman is a lovely stop. Yet if they aren’t open yet, what are you going to do? There are other places to go.

Is booking an 9:50 AM flight on Debarkation day an option?

I wouldn’t do it. -
Adventure of the seas going to be Amplified?
Oliver replied to smiles998's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I thought Royal said there was no amplifications done for the time being due to COVID crisis. Doesn’t mean they won’t do dry docks. Maintenance has to be done. Mostly technical to ships and engines. Some ships might get new beds, new carpets. But I would not expect any new slides, restaurants, or features for the time being. -
Yes my apologies. I saw your post after I post this.

Also don’t forget to try to pay with a credit card when you can. Not everybody will take credit cards because they have to pay fees but many will and that way you won’t have leftover change. Especially during COVID times, people are trying to handle money less which can theoretically transmit disease.

Here is a link to the article in case anybody wants to read the original. https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/25971-eight-cruise-ships-in-for-refurbs-in-navantia-in-cadiz.html

Found a photo of Enchantment of the Seas in dry dock at Cadiz Spain on the website Cruise Industry News. Looking at this picture you can see this ship has seen better days. I’m assuming this is a recent picture. Look at the amount of rust on the sides. Last time my wife and I were on this ship out of Galveston we really felt it was very below Royal Caribbean standards and said we would not take it again, Thankfully Galveston now has a newer Voyager class ship in the Adventure for 4 and 5 night cruises.

allure returns in 2026 All Things Galveston
Oliver replied to Galveston Steve's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I’ve sailed on Liberty several times. I’m very interested in trying Indepedence. I know Independence was amplified. My question is besides the new public spaces and restaurants, does Royal refresh the staterooms? I know they add some new staterooms, I’m just curious about the old ones. New beds or anything? New TVs? Not a deal breaker for me to try Independence, just curious.- 965 replies

Using Loyalty benefits on Celebrity cruises
Oliver replied to Mike.s's topic in Celebrity & SilverSea
I’m going to have to disagree with this @twangster. My wife and I are about to be empty nesters soon once my son goes to college soon. We always sailed Royal and loved them as a well rounded family cruise line. But now we are going to be looking for a more premium experience. Not necessarily luxury. Celebrity and maybe sometimes Princess will be our lines of choice. We don’t need the retreat experience to be happy although we may certainly do it sometimes. We don’t drink much I would prefer not to have the classic beverage package included but at least the internet and tips are included. Nothing is perfect. I certainly would prefer not have the drinks package but I still will be a Celebrity fan. And I think Celebrity will have people that feel like me. -
Even Cats is better than Saturday Night Fever on Liberty. Although not by much.

Most of the time it’s totally safe. I have visited Israel myself multiple times with no issues. Obviously right now is not a good time but don’t think it’s like this all the time because it’s not! It’s been many years since the violence has been to this level. I feel bad for Royal Caribbean because they sure do need some revenue right now. Pandemics, wars. Geez.

allure returns in 2026 All Things Galveston
Oliver replied to Galveston Steve's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
@Galveston Steve Do you by any chance know what happens to Royal Caribbean’s current terminal once the new terminal is completed? Are they going to keep both or would it be a chance for other cruise lines to maybe come into Galveston as well? I would love to see Celebrity come although I doubt that would happen. Maybe Norwegian or Princess might come with a ship. If this has been posted before I apologize. I looked thru most of the pages and didn’t see it.- 965 replies

Meeting with Members of the Administration and the CDC
Oliver replied to twangster's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I hate to tell you this but I sent all of my representatives emails and most of them sent back form emails. Most of them did not acknowledge that I was even emailing them about the cruise industry. They thought I was emailing about small business during the times of COVID. If this is really important to you, call them to make your opinion known.
