  1. Yes! I think I read it (the first time ?) the day it was posted. Thank you! Did you enjoy the Radiance?
  2. @Boston Babe I've used iTravelinsured.com for the last 8 years. So far, so good. They cover everything with regards to the trip. So, if we have to drive in the day before to get to the airport to make the flight to get to the port or Cruise terminal (the day before). They will even cover that two days before including the hotel rooms (one night in STL and then another night in MIA, for example) the drive up to our initial airport (STL), the hotel stay, the airfare, a rental car, Etc. So if it's already paid for then it's covered. Obviously, if it's not charged yet, and there are no cancellation penalties then we wouldn't make that part of the claim.
  3. 1) Do your research and use a TA. 2) Then get your travel insurance (unless you can afford the loss. . . And not care about it).
  4. Yes. We add it every time we travel since we have frail parents, and never know when we need to be called back or have to cancel at the last minute. It has to be added within so many days of your first cruise payment. I'm thinking 10 days is the limit. This past summer, my husband was bit by a copperhead snake. Had it happened within a few days of us leaving on a cruise, we would have pulled the trigger on the insurance claim. We were going to go on a holiday cruise next year, but put we decided to cancel and go at another time (hello, group cruise to Canada/New England ?). Had put only deposit on cruise fare. I was able to make a claim on my trip insurance using the cancel for any reason, and receive 75% of the nonrefundable deposit. So, the "loss" was a little over $100. So yes, we always add it.
  5. Many thanks, @twangster. I've combed that one. Was actually nudging you. ?
  6. Sorry, but you're somewhat incorrect @Balsam- Cancel For Any Reason (e.g., change of mind... just did that two weeks ago and it IS covered) added to the trip insurance would have covered this EXACT situation.
  7. 1) Talk to your travel agent, this is why you have them. 2) Did you take out travel insurance?
  8. If anyone has a cruise compass from THIS past summer's Alaska sailings on Radiance, may I request that you upload them to the Cruise Compass section of the blog? Many, many thanks!!
  9. It's the next one. For me, our Alaska Southbound next summer. Add to that the four days in Anchorage (before embarkation) and the 3 (or so) days afterwards in Vancouver and Seattle. Then, after that one, our dream cruise will be the July 2020 Canada/New England group cruise! ?
  10. To illustrate my query, which ships depart out of any east coast OR Florida port, 5 to 7 nights, on Thursdays, from May through June?
  11. Agreed! We can leave only on certain days of the week. This would be so helpful (a further drill down in the month would be a start).
  12. Yep, sans the login, the site is backup (and faster). Cruise planner is still a "no go".
  13. Can the Mystery Dinner Theater be part of the Ultimate Dining Package or is it considered a "culinary experience"?
  14. @twangster I just picked the first time on the first day since I knew it was good for the whole week. In my calendar, it is listed on Day 1 (I've done a quasi screen print): Seward, Alaska19 Jul 2019 at your leisure Thermal Suite Couples Week Pass
  15. Just wanted to let everyone know that just TODAY I was able to reserve our Thermal Suite Couple Pass on the cruise planner for our July 2019 Alaska cruise on Radiance! Haven't seen that before.
  16. @JLMoran It's okay. @Matt can share it with you on the NE/Canada GC! Ja? ?
