    Absolutely!
If Royal sent me an email today (should have received a apology one for the refund debacle) saying I was picked to be a test passenger to experience how new procedures on board would be,  I would have my bags packed in 30 minutes and at the port in 25 minutes.

Not concerned about a vaccine, my deciding factor will be what the "new" onboard experience is.

Let's assume cruises begin before there is a vaccine available (which I think is a pretty reasonable expectation), and ports re-open to some extent and Royal Caribbean has new safety and health measures in place, will you go on a cruise?

I always sail in a junior suite. Typically, I have embarked with the suites and disembarked, very slowly, with the herd. For my next cruise on the Symphony in 97 days (!) I purchased "The Key" which indicates escorted priority disembarking. We'll see!

No, I'm not talking about the background images used or some weird decision to use a blue-and-evergreen tartan plaid. I'm talking about the ways that Celebrity's site really bends over backward to screw you up while trying to do any kind of action that brings you in a direction they don't want you to go. Like what?
How about if you're doing a mock booking and just want to exit out? Here a couple of images showing the popup you get when you decide to exit the booking flow.

I went back in to the same booking after exiting, pretending I changed my mind and I wanted to book anyway and then decided to exit after all. The "Exit Booking" button that was on the bottom is now on the top, while the bottom white button has become "Continue Booking" -- which was a link at the bottom on the first screen! They are banking on you remembering "I clicked the white button last time, that's how I exit" and just clicking that without reading it. Which causes you to end up stuck and trying to leave over and over until you finally take the time to read it. Especially because if you keep going back, you find that the buttons don't always change positions in the same way. Sometimes you go there and the first exit screen you see is the second one I pasted, and then when you go back a few days later it's back to the first one. Or they swap the buttons around again so that "Continue Booking" becomes the blue button on top.
This is an example of what's come to be called a dark pattern, a way to get people visiting a web site to become stuck and feeling forced through a purchase flow; or making it impossible for them to do things like find how to get in touch with customer service, or unsubscribe from some product you don't want delivered every month any more. Amazon is infamous for this, as are a number of retailer sites these days. But Celebrity's site is turning out to be a horrible textbook example of this, too.
The one that really gets my goat? This:

This is a recent change, and one that it took me almost a week to catch on to. See, for the longest time the left panel has been the option for NRD, while the right panel is the Refundable Deposit option. This even looks like it should still be that, what with that "+$200 USD* for Refundable Deposit" under the button, right?
Nope! You are still selecting NRD booking if you click that big blue button. First giveaway, which I should have caught on to do but didn't because, hey, I'm just doing a mock booking and I'm in a rush, and not really looking at anything besides the Starting From number in big bold text and the word Refundable (hmm, is that really different from someone just looking to book and move to the next thing in their list?)... is the fact that those two dollar amounts are not actually $200 apart. They're $280 apart.
Second thing I should have been wary of is... Take a close look at that "+$200 USD" line of text. Notice anything odd about it?

Like the fact it's underlined? Oh, you didn't see it because it kind of blends in with the water and is really thin? Yeah, me neither.

That's right. That's not just informational text. It's a link.
If you want a refundable deposit, you have to go and click that, not the big obvious button above it. Just to get the offer of 2 perks, but without the "Save $200" part. And who is going to think to do that when they see what they think is a good deal on that bump-out balcony, and the thing that everyone knows you click to go on to the next step in any web shopping experience is a button, and what's right there but a big blue button?
This is a dark pattern to keep you on the NRD booking track. And I missed it, multiple times. I read about this crap all the time because I'm in web development and, well, I need to know what competitors to my employer are doing and what are the latest trends in web design, and ohmygodisthisstuffdisgustingIfeeldirtyjustreadingabout it!! And I still missed it.
Only reason I finally figured it out is because I took a screen shot of the final booking review screen before making payment, and sent it to my TA... who promptly emailed back to point out that my screen shot had a line referencing an NRD perk discount. That I saw but that never registered. Because the primitive lizard part of my brain was just seeing "GOOD NUMBER!! SAVE MONEY!! GET PERKS NOW, MEATBAG!! BIG BUTTON RIGHT THERE CLICK CLICK CLICK!!!"

Royal's site does stuff like this, too, but it's not as bluntly deceptive, at least not in all the same spots. I've seen the same BS when trying to exit a booking, where the buttons change position every few times. But at least when you want a refundable booking, they just make you go all the way to the last step before you see the checkbox to get the refundable price. (unless they changed that, too?)
Watch out for stuff like this. Otherwise you're going to call your TA a bunch of times thinking you've found a good chance to save some money, and instead walk away really annoyed and disappointed.

This just happened to me recently.  I am having surgery TOMORROW (replacing my much-beleaguered left knee...none-too-soon, I might add) !!!!!  ...and when I went to the hospital to have my pre-op interview, I, as is my long-time habit, looked for my keys before I left the nurse's office, so that I would have them in my hand and NOT be searching the bottomless abyss that is my pocketbook, when I was ready to get in the car.  Nothing...nada...nope.  No keys.  Anywhere.  I pawed, unzipped and finally, panicked.  The nurse became alarmed.  She said, "let me look.  Sometimes it takes a second pair of eyes....".  Then I saw...the valet parking ticket that had been given to me when I pulled up to the parking valet....and I realized that my keys were at the valet station.  I felt like such a crotchety, forgetful, manic old lady...oh wait....
...which reminds me of ANOTHER funny story ("I'll be here all week, folks"...?).  A couple of days ago when the Corona Virus first exploded, Dan and I were discussing it and I said, completely straight-faced, "oh, don't worry...it is only killing the old people".  I thought Dan was going to roll off the bed, he was laughing so hard.  The really sad part is that I didn't get why he was laughing at first.  Then it occurred to me....

Back on the ship, we went to check out the water slides. Lydia and I tried out the perfect storm slides. She was too light to do the other one. I’m wondering if there is an issue with all the water pumps back there. The flowrider has been out of commission all week. With the slides, they were not fast at all. I actually had to push myself out the bottom of them. They were almost painful when you went over each joint in to tube. Oh well, ✔️ those off the list of completed activities. One trip each in each color of the slides then we spent the rest of the afternoon soaking in the hot tubs and drinking rum punches.

    Welcome to the message boards!
No drink package discount for Diamond, only Diamond Plus.  If you are thinking about the drink package, buy it before boarding.
I just made D+ on my last cruise.  Once I made Diamond I stopped buying the drink package.  Diamond happy hour starts at 4:30pm and runs until 8pm (some ships 5:00pm to 8:30pm).  During that time the Diamond lounge has free drinks from a special happy hour menu.  In most bars around the ship you get three drinks from the same Diamond Happy Hour menu.  Between the two I get more than enough evening drinks.
As a Diamond that tips the scale to make the drink package unattractive to me.  I can buy a couple of beers and/or frozen something in the afternoon for $20-25.  That gets me through to Diamond happy hour.  I call this the modified drink plan - $25 per day and I'm set.  Keep in mind there are one time BOGO or 20% off beer/wine coupons loaded on your SeaPass card as well.
Here is the Diamond Happy Hour Drink Menu

You can order mixed drinks, like a bloody mary, vodka tonic, martini, etc, but it will be New Amsterdam vodka.
    No frozen drinks.
Bottled water is available and I sometimes grab one with each drink order to stock my room with bottled water.
For me that's enough to live without the drink package.  YMMV.

Nice! Same thing happened to us!
We booked Harmony for APR 2021 last year, then they moved up the 5-year maintenance dry dock and cancelled the APR 2021 Harmony sailings. RC did the same thing and froze the cruise fare and offered us any Oasis class ship sailing in APR 2021 plus $200 OBC (not a suite) as one of our options. We picked Symphony which was $700 more at that time for the identical cabin! $900 value due to the cancellation! ?

Well, this was a bad news/good news kind of day. First, I received an E-Mail telling my March 21, 2021 cruise on the Liberty had been canceled due to a longer than expected refurbishment. I had picked that cruise because it was fairly inexpensive two years out and it was out of Galveston (near my home in Spring, TX). The good news was that RCL was going to honor my original price for a similar cruise and throw in a $400 OBC because it was a junior suite. So, I got a better date for the same price and an additional $400 OBC. Good day with Royal Caribbean!

I would say this is the fundamental point where we disagree.  There's simply no need to accommodate the shrinking "I want everyone dressed up" crowd.  There are literally other cruise lines (including multiple lines owned by Royal) that cater to this crowd.

Al Horner got a reaction from ChrisK2793 in WAPO: The Demise of Formal Nights on Cruises: How dress codes are tearing passengers apart
One point that is missing is how the cruise lines have changed their MDR formal evenings. I have been cruising for about fifteen years. In that time, I have seen the cruise lines really reduce their effort during formal nights. Now, other than photographers taking over-priced pictures, what distinguishes MDR formal nights from any other night? The waiters don't dress any different. There is no special live music (different than any other night), no special food or desserts, no special decorations, etc. Maybe if the cruise lines made it special, more people would be willing to dress up.

I had a great experience with private journeys on Royal Caribbean and also discovered the link in the cruise planner as well for an upcoming Celebrity cruise.
We had a group of 11 that were visiting Roatan for the first time and got a 15 passenger A/C van with English speaking driver and tour guide.  They went at our pace and we had a five hour tour that included Iguana farm, monkey and sloth sanctuary and a glass bottom boat tour.  They also made stop at a chocolate store and local craft market and provided narration along the route.  They saved us time by diverting to a different monkey and sloth location that had less of a wait time.  They were able to give us additional time at some places and move along quicker when we had enough time at a location.  We were able to combine multiple excursions for what ended up being a better price and a single private excursion than booking multiple excursions it would've take to see all of these things.  I would definitely consider this again.  It was such a hit with my group that they said I could plan their excursions in the future.

Furthermore you can never accommodate everyone.   There is no appeasing everyone all the time.
The minority who is isn’t being appeased in the current approach are those that get offended when people don’t dress like they do.
Many people get dressed up and take pictures and don’t concern themselves if someone else is wearing jeans and a polo.  Many people go business casual.  Some go smart casual.  These are the majority.
They have created an approach for the majority.

I understand that some people like to dress up.  The question is why does that require everyone to follow their dress standard?
Why do some people who choose to dress more formal get offended when someone doesn’t conform to their level of dress?
What if people dressing better is offensive to people who just wear jeans and a polo shirt? Should the cruise line ban people who wear something too nice?  They just want to relax but now they feel like their oppressive boss or parents are present, judging them, stressing them.
What other people are wearing does not change the taste of your food.  Food does not taste better if the person at the next table is wearing a tux.  Food does not taste worse is the person at the next table is wearing jeans.
Dressing up and taking pictures can be accomplished even if the people in the next cabin don’t. You can choose to make every night a dress up night.
People who don’t dress up aren’t stressed about this.  They aren’t being torn.  They are enjoying the cruise they paid for.
No mass market cruise line should be forcing guests to conform to a dress code.  You can’t market a cruise to the masses and then enforce a dress code for the elite of society on any night.
Stop judging other people.  Focus on your family and dress however you choose to and enjoy your dining experience.
If you can’t stop judging other guests and this is ruining your cruise it may be time to look for a boutique cruise line that will satisfy your level of expectations.   The mass cruise market isn’t for you.
