RCL doesn't offer it but there is a "pirate hunting cruise" that operates in that area of the world, read about it a couple of years ago ... for a lot of money you get a boat with a crew of former soldiers and they take you out to try and get "attacked" ... im guessing travel insurance costs a little more for that cruise.

If RCL is going to introduce new on-ship excursions - how about the .50 cal pirate shoot? You get 200 rounds of .50 cal and whoever sinks the most Somali pirates - wins a prize!

I look forward to going to the new Perfect Day at Cococay in May 2019. What I find pretty daunting are the prices. As of today (Oct. 23rd) Cabanas can cost from $600 to $800 or more. The 30 minute helium balloon ride (which is what I would like to do) costs $64.00. I'm sure it's supply and demand but it's beginning to look like we'll get of the ship, look around and then get back on the ship.

I wish they would cancel formal night altogether. We mostly ignore it anyway, but do bring dressy casual for formal night. The big issue is the cost of paying for baggage fees if you have a heavy suit and dress shoes etc. that make you go over the limit. I know they make a lot of money on photographs on formal night, so I am sure it will go on.

I for one would be most happy to see rc skip all further stops to Nassau over the years it has changed so much to its present form crime ridden dirty little city with mostly rude desperate con men and women smelly horses and scooter rentals so iffy that only the daredevil should partake in the summer the straw market is so hot that it boggles the mind and heartbreaking to see the babies and young ones living under the booths I find the whole situation that is Nassau depressing and don't want to deal with this on a cruise I  for one don't get off the ship and haven't for years when my daughter hears Nassau is a stop she refuses to get off freeport is a little better but not much there is just nothing to do I for one say to royal find another quiet island in the Bahamas and put all your efforts into the beach and water experience forget the shopping most all the so called souvenirs are made in china and can be purchased in any port anywhere with people who truly appreciate you being there my belief is that the present selection of Bahamian stops is to far gone to save and should be deleted from the itineraries

I'm one of the people who don't get off the boat when it goes to the Bahamas. The reason is that, in my opinion, the people who live in the Bahamas are generally unfriendly and make little to no effort to be welcoming. How many times do you have to hear, "Hey Mister, nice shore excursion!" When I say no thank-you I suddenly get a muttered F##k You. This isn't a one off. It has happened to me a number of times.

So does this money that they pay the cruise line come out of the "port fees and taxes" line that we pay the cruise line ... in other words we pay Royal $10 per person, Royal pays Nassau $10 per person, Nassau then pays back $10 to Royal ... so really WE pay not Nassau? If so, bring on the sea days ... cruise in circles around Nassau and save me money :)

Al Horner reacted to PG Cruiser in Refreshment Package
I remember what a teacher of mine said while teaching us the usage of "can" and "may" - "You CAN but you MAY not".
What you plan to do is not allowed with any of the beverage packages.  It has some kind of ripple effect. Actions like this causes RCCL to come up with STRICTER policies for the packages. As an example, they now require ALL (adult) guests in a stateroom to get the Ultimate Package regardless of their drinking habits. I'm sure the main cause of this change in policy goes back to guests in the past using their companion's beverage privileges.
There are a lot COMPLIMENTARY beverage options that come with your cruise fare.   I hope your daughter will find something from there to her liking.
    My two cents.

You lose credibility with hyperbole.  A 25m cord?   That's over 80 feet.  Smuggle?   I've never smuggled anything onto a Royal ship.  It's right there for Royal to see.  I haven't hidden it or snuck it on board.  If I tried to bring a clothes iron they would confiscate it.
I've twice seen scary looking cords supplied by the ship.  They might have been tested once but in the hands of cabin attendants they are getting ruined.  I've seen cabin attendants pinch their cords under the bed.
Curling irons are much more of a threat.  Yet they are allowed.
If Royal wants to further mitigate the possibility of issues they can retrofit outlets near beds.  Instead they spend millions on projects to upgrade ships that generate revenue while choosing to ignore safety if the threat is as real as you claim.
Why is Royal ignoring safety and in doing so creating this hazzard ?

    Hold back $100.
I've been advised by multiple travel agencies that once a cruise if paid in full, regardless of final payment due date, you are no longer eligible for price adjustments.
I've been told that people loosely throw around final payment due date (90 days) as the trigger for losing price change adjustments when in reality it's actually when it's been paid for in full.  For the vast majority of people that is final payment due date (and hence their confusion) but for the rare person who pays it off prior to final payment due date they lose the ability to obtain price changes should rates drop.
In the past price adjustments even after final payment due date were often possible.  Now though, apparently they are getting very strict about it all.

I have a hard time with voices on the telephone and I have a really hard time understanding accents on the phone.  I'm not a racist if I want to talk to a (white, black, brown) American on the phone so I might be able to understand what they're saying.

Al Horner reacted to JLMoran in Cafe Select Coffee Card vs Refreshment Pkg
Yes, the Refreshment Package includes all espresso-based coffee drinks: lattes, cappuccinos, Frappuccino-style beverages, etc.
However, the ship’s are not consistent in how they will punch the card. Some just do one punch per drink, regardless of size, where others do one punch per espresso shot IN the drink. So a grande or venti size, which is typically two shots, will mean two punches.
Since the Refreshment Package also includes bottled water and fresh-squeezed OJ, it’s not a bad purchase if you expect to be drinking a lot of medium or large espresso beverages every day and also get a couple bottles of water, maybe that OJ with breakfast.

Totally agree with @JLMoran.  If you drink anything other than coffee, the refreshment package is the way to go as it is unlimited.  And very likely that between now and your cruise, it will go down a bit from $26/day at some point.

I'm not a coffee snob but I do like a good cup of coffee. That being said, the ship coffee is OK at best. If you like a decent cup of coffee, you might want to spring for the coffee card.
