  1. I’ve seen some meet up events on compasses for 18-21 groups I believe but others here will know better. I haven’t seen them on all compasses but a few.
  2. I think “live blog suggestions” with just a few tips would be nice but I’ll hoenstly read any review/blog regardless of the lacking details. ?
  3. I have seen this as well. What’s interesting is also the rumors of RC shopping the ship for sale. Could it be to spruce her up for sale?
  4. I’m taking my first cruise in November and did a lot of research on this topic and it seemed to lead me to the Kyss bags every time. They are priced well but are on backorder frequently. My husband and I are taking our 3 year old son and this will be our first real vacation together. I don’t want to have to worry about watching our stuff and missing out on moments together when at the beach. my main concern now is when we do our zip line excursion without our son. I’m trying to figure out how to keep our phones and such safe when were “zippin”. Thinking of buying a waist buckle pouch for under our clothes.
  5. Would love to see the comparison in one place so if you do end up doing it you will not be the only user! Great idea.
  6. Great pics!! My husband as the same Rolex dream. One day one day...
  7. Been following your posts as it really is heartbreaking when you plan and plan and let yourself get excited. Fingers crossed for the price match!!
  8. I do not have info but be aware that if the same company excursion is offered by your ship you cannot book it on our own. Those companies have deals with the ships and to avoid ppl booking it on their own for a potentially cheaper price you need to book through the ship to experience it.
  9. I think in order for them to "fix" it they would have to rethink their whole app and system as they can't control the side affects. Maybe the new fancy RC app fixes it so they aren't concerned about Royal IQ. Just a thought...
  10. Hi @CHRIS WONG! Thanks so much for sharing some insight- your blog was very informative and entertaining. Great to see a little "behind the curtain". lol My question is about how Royal Caribbean feels about your blog. Do they have rules regarding talking about crew life, salary and other "secrets"? I am going to assume no or you would not have a blog lol but was wondering if Royal Caribbean has a stance on the crew sharing. Thanks! ?
  11. I sat here for 10 min deciding if I was going to reply but I figured 1. You all seem like really nice people and 2. it’s not CC so hopefully this will not be taking in a combative way but more an FYI... I have a close family member in jail (will not go into details and its complicated anyway) but it is definitely not a resort. He also developed medical issues while in there and the care is definitely just enough to keep him breathing at times. Also things like education really helps to prevent these people from being repeat offenders. Totally can see how people who do not have insight would think differently as I did before this entered into my life. Also I know it differs greatly from state to state and the type of facility you are in. They are all definitely not resorts though. @Sweety my stepfather is a middle school teacher for 20 years and it scares my family every day. It’s APPAULING that we can’t keep our schools safe. They should be the safest places in our country. It’s not like every little girl and boy are dreaming of being teachers these days so it also scares me to think of what the profession will lead to in the future. Thoughts are with you and your family.
  12. I have also been wondering this so following.
  13. Yeah I tried YouTube and found a lot of cut versions but I prob didn’t look hard enough thanks!
  14. @Lovetocruise2002 that is the same exact price as the cruise planner. Thanks for sharing! and thanks to everyone for your thoughts. I’ve decided to just wait and see how it goes.
  15. Ahhh you're right I think I am, thank you for the clarity! Too much to learn lol. Edit: But you did help me with my decision- if they are never discounted then we will wait till we are on to see how we like the included coffee.
  16. Hellllo During some of my research I came across info about the coffee card. I read that it was usually available a few days into the cruise however I see it available now in my cruise planner. I have heard mixed reviews about the included coffee and my husband and I LOVE our coffee. I would like to wait till we are on board to see if the included coffee will scratch our coffee itch or if we should get the premium coffee card but have some questions to see what would be our best option. My questions are: 1. Are coffee cards available day 1 now since they are in the cruise planner? 2. Will the coffee card have an onboard deal if you wait a few days to buy it? 3. Has anyone seen the coffee cards go “on sale” in the cruise planner? Thanks as always! Amanda
  17. Hello all! My husband and I plan on doing the Sky Safari zipline excursion in St. Kitts. I have never been ziplining before and cannot be more excited. My husband was adventurous in his youth and has done a few. Reviews on many different sites seem very positive but my only concern is it will be way too beginner/boring for my husband. He says he’ll be fine no matter what but being our first cruise and only excursion without our son I want to make sure it’s worth it for him too. I can always zipline our our second cruise. ? Has anyone here done this excursion and can you let me know what you think? I think there are 4 lines you get to ride and hoping they aren’t too short. The views alone look amazing so as long as each line gives you time to enjoy the ride and look around I think he would be happy. Thanks in advance!
  18. Ah yes the drama- you nailed it lol.
  19. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
  20. Thanks so much for the kind words! I will def not feel pressured so hope it works out that I can post every few days. ?
  21. Hello all! Amanda and Lam here! Been reading and absorbing the thousands of hints, tips, insights and reviews on this blog. This is by far the best forum for cruising I have come across and so glad its RC specific! (Matt and team: you rock!) Cruising Anthem on Nov 25th with our 3 year old son. It will be our first cruise and the threads here are what helped us pick our ship, dates, departure port, etc. We have done the all-inclusive thing but never cruising. I like to plan (like a lot of you on here) and make sure we can get the most bang for our buck. The advice you have all given has saved us over $2000 in "First Cruiser" mistakes- no joke. It really is easy to let the price get away from you. Things like the insights on if drink packages are worth it and rebooking stuff in the cruise planner when there are sales have been game changers that we would have not known about if we didn't learn it here from you wonderful ppl! ? The live blogs are my favorite posts on here. They are informative and help scratch the cruise itch by living through others. My goal is to pay it forward with a live blog once I am on the ship. Its an 11 day cruise and my first one with our 3 year old so it might be a lofty goal but I am going to try! From what I have seen Anthem tends to have an older demographic (hope this doesn't offend anyone but its honestly a top reason we booked the ship) so hoping a family with a young one provides a different perspective. Thanks again to everyone! We hope this is the first cruise of many to come! Amanda and Lam
  22. Hello all! Been stalking the message boards for weeks as I plan my family's first cruise. Really appreciate all the insight on there (special thanks to Matt and team for being so awesome). My husband, 3 year old son and I will be on Anthem of the Seas, Nov 25, 2018 out of NJ. Looks like we will be the only ones from here on there so far! ?
