What a great day. Sounds like your daughter is taking to the cruise really well and you both are getting some time. These types of reviews give me hope as we take our son a cruise next Sun. Blackout... the whole ship? Is that abnormal? Sounds like it would kinda be fun for a min but I then I imagine all the people panicking lol.

@RCVoyager Of course I googled- how could I not lol. The picture is hysterical. It’s such a large group that you really can’t see much but you can definitely tell. I think I would do this- but NOT be in the front lol.

What if they don’t spend all the cash if they put some on right when they board? Is it returned to them via cash?

I got an email from RC telling me my excursion changed days. I emailed my TA and found out there was a port day switch. I guess since the TA booked the cruise she got the port change email but since I booked the excursion through RCCL I got the excursion change email. But I did get an email for it directly unlike yourself.

The more I think about this I wonder if they are doing it on close sailings that haven’t had much specialty dining pre-purchases.

For my upcoming Anthem sailing on Nov 25th, I am seeing a discount for the first time on the three night package. Showing for $68 when previously it was always $80. It’s also marked with the 20% banner BUT only when I click to the dining page, not on the CP homepage.

Love seeing a family review. Can’t wait to see what your daughter thinks of the whole experience! And to mimic others, congrats on the weight loss! I know it’s not an easy thing to go through and takes a lifetime commitment. Most of us can’t stay consistent with what and how much we consume week to week so total props.

I’m looking to bring my cross stitch stuff for my upcoming cruise. Would I be able to bring a small scissor aboard (not a child safety scissor but the same size)? I believe scissors are on the no-no list but have also read of others stitching at sea so I’m incline to say yes. I don’t want to pack the cross stitch stuff though if I can’t use a scissor.

For my first cruise coming up with my 3 year old I chose Anthem instead of Grandeur due to it being more kid friendly. We are in northern Virginia so we were choosing between the two. Also pricing for Grandeur is not that much cheaper than Anthem. I’ve been pricing both out for a possible second cruise (sans kid) and only a few sailings are cheaper than Anthem... when looking at a standard balcony. I know smaller, older ships tend to be cheaper but I haven’t really seen that with Lady G. I’m also very new to this so maybe it’s just been that way the few months I’ve been looking.

I wonder for they will start complaining about that. Is that standard for all sailings on Symphony or just this TA?

They are doing Anthem July 2019 so I don’t know that Matt will book a ship they have done over here- especially if it was a recent group cruise. He would probably look for a ship that most people have not had the chance to sail on if Europe does become a possibility.
