Royal Caribbean does a piss poor job of explaining what it sells. They rely on blogs, you tubers, social media, etc. to be their marketing and sales departments and inform passengers on exactly what is going on and assumably correct information is going to be received. 
So if a first time cruisers only source of information is the RC website, of course they are going to show up to the Brisbane cruise terminal without a clue and are an easy swindle.

I always told myself that "its just that I'm eating more food" as the reason for not getting an alchohol buzz.  But on my last cruise I had some sort of import beer (not a beer drinker) just to try it out and I had an instant buzz......from beer of all things??  Now I have noticed the people around the pool who were really feeling it seemed to all be drinking beer so now I'm more leaning towards that the pours are weak or the liquor is of lower alcohol content.  In all honesty I didn't get a drink package on next months cruise partly because of this.

Some ships used to have a sushi bar within the windjammer area, now it'll cost you extra.  First couple times I was on a ship with a Johnny Rockets there was no upcharge for that either.

10 years ago or so we share a large main dining room table with a family from St Maarten.  First I found it interesting that a family from the Caribbean would be taking a Caribbean cruise, second was the fact that they were going to disembark when they hit their home island.  This was on a southern Caribbean cruise out of Puerto Rico and St Maarten was our last port before returning to PR.

The OBC can be used on board or on the planner, for later cruises I plan to use mine at the casino.

Had the $100 which was removed and now have the $50 credit.  Looks like from reading the small print that it can only be used in the cruise planner which kind of stinks cause we've already bought everything we need at a better discount then what is offered now.

There is no excuse for the customer service calls that were made and confirmed the details of this yesterday. 
Please do a blog about Royals incompetence. And how there endless IT problems have caused so many problems and disappointments for people over the past year. And the piss poor customer service response of not offering compensation in some token form like a bottle of champagne or early boarding. You ask people here for your surveys all the time. How about a real truthful one on this? One that goes deeper than accidents happen. One with a darker first time buyer beware approach. This is the kind of crap, confusion, aggravation, and disappointment you let yourself in for if you do business with this company. Let's see that blog. Bad service = bad press. It's only fare.

I DO NOT CARE  how much they have to jack up the prices on Coco Cay Cabanas in order for this promotion to work out for everyone who has purchased it.

Odd thing for me is that my folks are sailing on the same cruise and they had this listed under packages while I had to do the url change. 
We are on a Oasis 9 night cruise so if this sticks it's even a better deal!

It seems so random which sailings they're opening it up for.
Kinda aggravating for those of us who can't get in at all.....
 
I've tried "packages", "package", "premier" and "premiere" and I keep getting the same great things are coming page. I know I'm not the only one failing to get the info but it is still frustrating. I wouldn't even care if I did get it then it's cancelled, I just want the option.

We also got our plate of stale cookies !  LOL

We did a few days in London, then spent the day before our cruise in Bath.  Lots of cool things there but more laid back.  Then morning of our cruise took the train into Southampton and was at the cruise terminal by 10am.

I'm more for charging a higher price, then cutting back on goods and services. Especially on a vacation. Nobody wants more limited menu choices or services on that special week of the year. Everything goes up in price. That's a given. But change the very dynamics of the goods and services people come to expect and you run the risk of changing your customer base as well. For me personally it's been one change after another right after I made non refundable Payments for 2023 & 2024. I now no longer feel I'm going to get what I signed on for. And who knows what changes/cut backs are coming next. I firmly believe you need speak up if you want to be heard. Just in case you read any of this Royal. Hey, you never know. Lol.

Getting your monies worth after that many days may require a liver transplant!  😀

The only bad news here is that they decided to test asymptomatic passengers.  I understand this is Australia, but let's be sure, this would not happen in the US.  This type of blanket testing runs completely counter to any CDC or ID standards or recommendations.

Up until high school we took our daughter out of school to travel. School should never get in the way of learning! She met people from all over the world, experienced different cultures and foods, learned about sea creatures and Mayan civilization. She (and we) remember all those trips fondly.
PS. She did just fine with missing school, got her undergrad in 3 years and was dean's list every semester in graduate school. 

I'm sure I'm not alone but we have always taken our kids out of school for family vacations.  We feel that as long as long as they maintain strong grades that family time along with different cultural experience is just as much importance as time in school.  We will actually be on Oasis next August and it will be one of the first cruises we've taken in a long time that school will be out for summer break.

Black Friday last fall was $5.99 for many sailings so there is a chance it may go lower.
