The easiest way to avoid the sales pitch is to write, in BIG letters, on your evaluation sheet ( you fill this out prior to getting any service in the spa) NO SALES !!  That way, they know before the ever start that you do not want to be bothered.  It has worked great every time.  Sometimes the girl will still give me a “list” of recommended products but I just take it graciously and throw it away at my earliest convenience.
Ive had mixed results with spa services.  Usually, the treatments are very much worth the time and cost but a few times (our latest couples massage comes to mind) they have not.  These days I usually just go by myself.  Dan was so turned off by his last experience that he doesn’t go anymore.
If you are D+ be sure and mention it b/c there is a relatively new benefit that you can use.  It’s an “add-on” special meaning that if you’re already paying for one service (say, a massage), you can get an add-on (facial, for example) at no additional cost.  Of course, this doesn’t work in combination with already discounted services such as Port day specials.
if you want a real bargain for a massage, go to Costa Maya (Mahaual) and get the $20 massage on the beach. Best bargain you will ever find.

I was on the maiden voyage and loved the ship and itinery. I took a royal caribbean coach into Marseille and that was $18 per person with coaches going every half hour so that was great.

As for the ship, We loved hooked. they do special shooters with an oyster in which is certainly a new experience. the food quality was amazing, our server Robert really was exceptional. ive attached some images of the food for you to all enjoy

How in the world would you possibly be able to do an excursion of the Amalfi Coast AND Pompeii ??   Each of those is an entire day (at LEAST) on its own.  I guess an Amalfi Coast cruise might be possible but then how would you get back to land and get to Pompeii in order to have ANY time there ?  Wow.
I have never done a ship's excursion so I have no idea how long you have in port but based on how long I know that each of these places takes to see, I would recommend the last one...Sorrento and Amalfi.  I just cannot imagine combining Pompeii with anything unless they are just going to do a drive-by of Pompeii.
Personally, I think that Herculaneum (or Ercolano as the Italians call it) is a much better ruin site than Pompeii.  For one, Herculaneum is much smaller and easier to see in a compressed time frame.  Secondly, I think it is much better preserved than Pompeii.  Herculaneum was completely covered by pyroclastic flows almost instantaneously so the entire site was "sealed" for nearly 2000 years.  The walls, art, floors and artifacts are much more vivid and complete at Herculaneum.  Pompeii is very cool...no doubt.  But I always recommend that if you can only see 1 of the ruins, go to Herculaneum.  It doesn't look like Royal even offers a tour there, which is very unfortunate so you would have to go on your own and I don't know if I would recommend that.  I'm kind of a 'fraidy cat when it comes to going out on my own in foreign countries (from a cruise ship I mean).  If you ever go to visit though, don't miss Herculaneum.

I've been to Barcelona a couple of times (albeit not on a cruise) and it's a beautiful city - I'm looking forward to going back there on IOS this summer. Anyway, there are hop-on hop-off buses which are a great way to see all the sites. The Sagrada Familia is a must see. The tour of the Nou Camp stadium is worth a look if you're a football (soccer) fan. Gaudi's Parc Guell is also interesting with great views over the city if you climb to the top of the stairs at the back of the park.
We went to Civitivechia on Navigator in 2016 but chose not to go to Rome as it's so far from the port (and being from the UK it will be relatively easy for us to go there for a weekend at some point). If you do choose to go to Rome, I'd recommend booking through RC for peace of mind as it's so far from the port. We booked a wine tasting excursion in Tuscany through RC. It was a pleasant afternoon but my husbsnd and I weren't that impressed with the actual wine tasting - nowhere near as good as others we've done in Napa & Sonoma. We still came away with some nice, very reasonably priced wine though. My parents, who'd never dine wine tasting before, really enjoyed it.

You may want to review this live blog from @Traveler, who just completed a Mediterranean sailing on Symphony and includes some really good info on the ship and ports.
