They've let us do it in the past - we were platinum and travelling with family that were gold. They were able to walk through the line with us (we just said, "they're with us!"). I think it might depend a little on the port.

No. We are Platinum and had the same thing this past summer for the Oasis. However, we did not have to wait long for them to get checked in.
