  1. As noted by @twangster, if you're looking for different itineraries that should be the focus. We each have different likes and dislikes, so aside from particularly poor experiences that might be shared it is impossible to say which cruise lines (if any) will be better or worse for any given cruiser. I can name things that are advantages and disadvantages FOR ME about each line I've cruised (including Royal which is our favorite line to date).

Any thoughts where we might be able to watch Monday nights FCS championship on Allure?

You clearly meant CFP championship based on mentioning Monday.

I was unduly excited to see someone mentioning the Football Championship Subdivision championship game, which took place on Sunday. The South Dakota State Jackrabbits defeated the Montana Grizzlies 23-3 in the final game of a TRUE playoff (every FCS conference is eligible to send their champion to the playoffs) to complete a 15-0 season.

  3. IF they feel the need to do it at all, it needs to be consistently on the last night. Then those of use who choose to partake in MDR for dinner can just opt out on that night.

Doing it any other night is just ridiculous and doing it twice would definitely lead me to drop my rating of dining room service at least 3 points lower than it otherwise earned (and the reason will be indicated in my comments). That's right - if you do the stupid song and dance appreciation thing twice, your whole rating goes in the toilet, no matter how great the service was otherwise.

I know some of you will want to tell me "don't penalize the crew members by lowering the rating," but if a message needs to be sent it will be sent.

  4. Initially, you'll be on the Patapsco River leaving Baltimore and neither side is "better" than the other unless a view of Fort McHenry is important to you (in which case you'll want to be on the port side). Once you get out into the Chesapeake, the ship channel is roughly the mid-point of the bay and the views in either direction are similar.

Far better during sail away from Baltimore is to be up on deck when your ship passes under the Francis Scott Key Bridge.

I was watching a YouTube video on Odyssey. The vlogger had a wired hand held microphone and was blocking off most of the ship corridor. Someone across from her was holding the camera. Everytime passengers would inevitably walk by, she would pause, and give them an annoyed look.

People paid thousands to be on that ship and should be able to walk wherever they want. The vlogger actually expected people to wait or find a detour during this lengthy video.🙄

I would have circled that deck and gone through the same hallway repeatedly. Gotta get those steps in somehow, so why not have fun messing with an entitled individual.

Well I can tell you without equivocation, Royal is making a ton of money off me and my pursuit of diamond plus. Once we hit it , we’ll check out celebrity.

You get Elite status on Celebrity with Diamond (same as Diamond Plus and Pinnacle). Why wait for D+ to check it out since there's no additional benefit?

I know every day is different and so are everyone's experiences

Saturday after Thanksgiving - from entering security line to having our shoes back on was less than 20 minutes. I think most of the line was stuck in the traffic jam getting TO the airport (all the more reason to use the Link rather than travel by motor vehicle).

We are going to be up there next summer and are thinking about taking a late flight. 5:30. Has anyone ever used Port Valet ?

I don't care what time your flight is scheduled - USE THE PORT VALET!!!!!

Put your bags out the evening before debarkation and don't touch them again until your arrive at your destination airport baggage claim. Couldn't be easier. The best part is that if your bag is a little over the weight limits, you may not get charged the fee (YMMV).

I think that's fairly regional....are you from the PA or Midatlantic area in General?

The regionality of Turkey Hill is greatly reduced. It was available in the Mid-Atlantic region as long ago as when I was in college (early '80s) and nowhere else. Now it is readily available in both Southwest Ohio and much of North Carolina (it's the largest portion of non-store brand ice cream in our local grocery stores).
