I had the same question 6 months ago before Allure sailing. If you are ok with just relaxing & not doing some type of adventurous excursion then stay at the port complex right off the pier. There is a huge pool w/ swim up bar, beach sand and loungers. There are servers for drinks & food as well as a whole outdoor mall full of shops. There’s really no need to leave it’s actually pretty nice.

We did Krazy Lobster per @twangster recommendation! We had a wonderful time! There was a small beach with lounge chairs, but we didn’t partake! We sat at the tables and had the best guacamole and the freshest pico de Gallo I’ve ever eaten! Did I mention the homemade chips——— to die for!! They also had $5 buckets of beer, if I remember it was 5 beers and it was maybe three choices! I found something I liked, for a dollar a beer, how bad can it be!? We had a great afternoon!

    Day 5!
Our last port day was a full beach day at Great Bay Beach. It started relaxed with room service and breakfast in bed. Just fun to do it once during the week. ? After that it was a leisurely get ready to meet the group at 9:45. We did the typical herding in line to and from the water taxi and were sheparded to a fairly packed area with chairs, umbrellas with drink and food service. It was definitely a party feeland  fun to meet others. Also we were informed that since there was not a second group our 3 hour beach adventure was actually all day with the return taxis running every ten minutes or so. It was enjoyable but completely opposite of the relaxed, room to spread out beach time of Mehgan's beach yesterday. Vote goes to yesterday!
Back on board with a fantastic dining room dinner. Service has been top notch with offers of seconds every time we finish our plates or for something different if we leave a bit left over.
We tend to search out quiet places on the ship so we strolled around the track after dinner taking in the moonlight and the appearance of the planets as it got darker as more stars could be seen.
The ice show on the Oasis was more high energy than the others I have seen and was appreciated. Studio B on the Oasis seems to be the same size than other classes but better designed to move crowds in and out. The Freedom and Voyager versions all had a single choking point.
Talking about quiet spaces, we finished the evening with the Central Park violen concert. 6000 people on the ship and you can find entertainment with a few dozen people spread out under the stars and among the plants listening to a pair of talented artists.
Next up is a first of two sea days! Who knows what Oasis adventures awaits!!

Our kids travel relatively well.  They have their moments as all kids do,  but We love taking them places just to see their  expressions when they see or explore new places.

We were on Oasis in May and ate in the Solarium Bistro twice.  There was NO CHARGE except for the lobster and lamb.  It was very good and a change from the main dining room.  Appetizers and desserts are "buffet" style.  You order the entree from the waiter and it will be served to you.  They will bring you a receipt at the end of the dinner.  There is a place for an additional "tip", if you so chose.  My only "gripe" was that the 2nd day we were there, two large parties were also dining (22 people in each).  Since the area is tiled, the noise was a bit of a factor.  It wouldn't stop me from booking it again.  We loved the Mediterranean appetizers.

If you can't reserve the specific restaurants and times in advance, then find the dinner reservation stand as soon as you get aboard the ship.  When I was on the Allure in March, we boarded on deck 5, turned left and found the reservation stand right in front of the Bow & Stern Pub.
We did the 4-night deal and originally booked Chops, Gio's, 150 and Samba but wound up dropping Samba for a second visit to Chops.  We really enjoyed all three and it was hard to pick which one to repeat.  Chops only won because the availability worked best with our other plans.  Definitely go to Gio's & 150 as the first two, and either repeat the one you like best or book Chops.  I wouldn't waste the reservation on any of the other choices.

I completely agree with KLA.  Sabor on the O class ships is a far cry from the full service Sabor on the Freedom class ships, IMO and good for a snack and a margarita but in no way a celebration destination.
Samba Grill is one of the big disappointments of my recent cruise history.  We were on Allure for her second sailing ever (2009) and went to Samba Grill.  It was a wonderful experience. The place was beautifully decorated, there were exotic Brazilian style dancers who put on a show, the food was good if not great.  We sailed Allure again this past April and what a letdown.  No table linens, no dancers and the food was very mediocre.  I have moved from a "recommended" to a "no way" vote on the Samba Grill.
So I also recommend Giovanni's and 150 CP for your BOGO.  Giovanni's is solid (I do not care for Jaimie's Italian much so enjoy Giovanni's) and 150 is very very good.  I love the salts from around the world !

TD 9 is still very far away and not even to the level of a TS or hurricane. Any kind of forecast on its path is nothing more than a proverbial finger to the wind and can change a million different ways between now and the time it's actually in striking distance of the US. I know it's difficult to do with your vacation so close, but it's best for now to just follow the information on Florence only, and ignore any updates on TD 9 until it's on this side of the Atlantic.

Enjoy. I use MEI travel myself, which is a sponsor of this site, for both Royal and non-Royal cruises. Just booked another cruise with Michelle at MEI and have cruises booked with her through 2020 and just returned from one to the Arctic Circle with Holland America that Michelle booked for us.
Enjoy. I love those little last minute fun cruises. I used to do them all the time when Royal still had a ship in California.
    Added. Great ship!

Enjoy your first cruise. The Brilliance is a great ship.
Have a great trip. I love the southern itinerary.
Have fun. I love Barcelona and have two cruises from there over the next year.

Do be aware this can vary from ship to ship. For my trip on Freedom last April, that was the case. But I just double-checked my Anthem SetSail Pass, and while it has a small section on the left in micro-print that lists both my wife and me for the onboard spending account, the main section on the right where everything was very large and readable only listed my name along with the cabin number, muster station, etc. I had to print the one specifically listed for my wife in the online checkin area before I had a SetSail Pass with her name writ large in that right-side section.

Today is day 4 of our cruise and I purposely delayed starting this blog.
Voom suffers in Alaska being so far North and knowing I would take a bunch of photos I will be writing the bulk of thread after I return home and can go through thousands of photos to select the best ones.
Consequently keep any eye out for updates next week, but in the interim if anyone has any questions they would like to ask while I am on board feel free to add those now.
    Itinerary
Day 1 - Embark in Seward
    Day 2 - Hubbard Glacier
    Day 3 - Juneau
    Day 4 - Skagway
Day 5 - Icy Strait Point
    Day 6 - Ketchikan
    Day 7 - Inside Passage
Day 8 - Disembark in Vancouver
So far every port has been awesome and weather has been great.  Our time at Hubbard Glacier was incredible and very different from Explorer's trip to the Dawes Glacier in June.  That's just a tease, I'll get into that in more detail once I go through the pictures and videos of calving I have.
We've just arrived in Skagway and I am heading out for my day of self exploring.
    Later...
