This thread may turn out to be like a "Which Motor Oil Is Best?" thread on a Car forum but I will forge ahead, regardless.
TIL that I need little clips to secure my towel to my poolside (relatively speaking) lounge chair.  I had never heard of  a Boca Clip before but I now MUST have some.  With 10 days left until embarkation, I'm on a mission to secure (pun intended) some.

    Here are my requirements:
Cheap because thieves Sturdy enough to last at least throughout the cruise but hopefully longer.  Plastic or Stainless? Different enough to easily identify from others nearby (is this even an issue?) Fast shipping since it's a bit early to see them on local store shelves. I'd imagine that several of you have tried a number of these things and have developed an unnatural attachment to them.  Links to whatever style or brand you may prefer would be appreciated.
Time is of the essence here so, CHOP CHOP!  Please?

Its a product of what RCI calls "information services" ... I never got anything for years, and then suddenly one day the flood gates opened. I like to think that a mouse chewed a wire somewhere in Miami and voila a section of the database was exposed to seawater and the emails started flowing. Its as likely as any other explanation ...

I would be more concerned about the quality of the alcohol in some of these shady resorts. Not sure if Cozumel was one of the cities with the alcohol poisoning, but just use good judgement. Can't go wrong with going where the locals go.

We at each off the menu, ceviche, nachos, Guacamole , but be warned..it's not TexMex.  It's real Mexican food with spices and jalapeños.
That pico will light up your tongue!   It was delicious each time we ate there and no issues at all with "the revenge". Just drink bottled water and don't use the ice.

We've been there twice, took a cab both times. We have never had a minutes trouble. The resort is nice..not super fancy, but if you want a nice relaxing beach day...Naichi is your place.
We go there every time we go to Cozumel.

I'm a little over excited, so I'm going to go ahead and start the thread and give a bit of a cruise preview. If you guys have any questions or things you'd like me to check out, post it here!
This is my first time on this ship (and class of ship!) and all of the ports are brand new to us, so this will be a very exciting cruise.
My husband and I plus 10 members from his side of the family (!!!!) will be traveling to San Juan early in the morning on February 22nd, and finally arriving around 3:00 PM (San Juan time). We are staying in Old San Juan in an Air BnB that we are splitting with our siblings in law (two other married couples all around the same age). My in laws and others are staying at the Casa Blanca Hotel. We got a great deal on this AirBnB, so really excited that we were able to find something reasonable in the area of the city that we wanted to be in!
The cruise doesn’t embark until February 24th, so we will be spending two days exploring the city prior to our cruise. I know a lot of questions have come up here regarding the condition of the city, so I will be sure to share whatever pictures and information that I can!
Now for our itinerary, we will be visiting St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Lucia, and Barbados – leaving us with only one sea day! VERY port heavy itinerary.
St. Maarten – We will be taking a Bernard’s SXM Tour (Third Party Excursion)
St. Kitts – We have an early afternoon Island History and Rum Tasting Tour booked through the cruise line
Antigua – We will be taking a taxi to Valley Church Beach
St. Lucia – We are taking a Jeep Adventure and Beach Break excursion that we booked through the cruise line (and swinging by a brewery “tap room” with great reviews near the port!)
Barbados – We have chartered a private catamaran tour for only our group with two snorkel spots, lunch buffet, and drinks included (SO excited for this!)
As I mentioned, each of these ports are totally new to us so really excited to see what’s in store.
For our cabin, we started out in an interior cabin beneath the casino. However, thanks to some price drops, we were able to move up to a Deck 8 Interior Promenade Cabin! It’s our first time in this type of stateroom and we are really excited to check it out based on feedback we’ve had.
I don’t anticipate we will be doing any specialty dining this cruise (unless we can convince some in the group to join us in the newly added Izumi!), so we will be going to the Main Dining Room with our group during traditional early seating. Additionally, we DID spring for a Deluxe Drink Package this cruise once we saw it drop to $39/pp per day – worth it to us, especially since we are not diamond and do not get the perk of the nightly happy hour (though, this is our first cruise as Emerald!). I did also purchase a single VOOM code to stay connected back home (I worry about our dog!), and also to share our trip with you guys of course!
Thanks for reading – very much looking forward to sharing our upcoming ADVENTURE on the Adventure of the Seas!

The cruise in question was a 10 day.   Italians I heard, but residents of Melbourne.
Bad stuff happens all over the place.  At a NYE dinner on land in the 90's one table got into it with another over something stupid I'm sure but it ruined an expensive NYE dinner for the whole restaurant.  Fists flying, tables knocked over,  police, etc.  Grown men in tuxedos.  We left and made it home in time for the ball drop.  Complete waste of $300 ( and that was the 90s).
On Anthem in December a kid was running amuck and literally ran into the Staff Captain.  Staff Captain told the parents who were present it isn't acceptable.  Parents fly off the handle, threaten the Staff Captain -  "you don't talk to my kid that way" and escalate it into a threat against the Staff Captain's family.   "I know where you live and I'm coming for them".  Instant cabin arrest with guards stationed outside their door.  Upon arriving in San Juan a family of 12 were put off the ship.   All because they thought their little angel should be able to punch people, run in crowds, knock people over,  etc.
It's amazing how some people believe their cruise fare entitles them to be above the rules or be better than every one else as if they are the only people who paid for the cruise.
Fortunately these people are in the minority, so far.

It is one of the interesting dynamics of this board, as well as the Cruise FBs I am on: The various economics of cruising.  Some folks out here go on 4-5 cruises A YEAR and dont blink at discussions of $1000 genie tips, while for others a cruise is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and every single tip is a serious consideration.  I am just grateful that most out here are considerate of that dynamic.

But back to Galveston;  Having to clear the gulf is a pain, but the port itself is great.  I found the folk of Galveston to be happy, helful and relaxed.  The food at Fish Tales was excellent and the walks along the beach relaxing.  Galveston Limo was perfect in getting us to and from the airport (Hobby).

If anyone sees a spacious Oceanview LMK. Upgrading to Pano is not an option. Price goes up significantly because I loose the kids sail free promo. My son told me this morning he was excited for his view of the helipad so...I think I may not have switched anyway because of that view that he's so looking forward to.

I think there's a non-monetary aspect to visiting Puerto Rico and the other islands hit by the storms too.  People need to get back to work to pay their bills, but it's also important to be able to get up out of bed and get their lives back to something resembling normalcy.  Having lived through many hurricanes, once the storm has passed and the critical life-safety stuff is taken care of, I really just want to get back to work and have normal days again.

On the other side of that, I'm actually quite happy to be going in a couple weeks. A big part of San Juan's economy is tourism, and I'm happy to go there and spend money. Old San Juan and major tourist areas have largely bounced back, it's the areas outside the cities and in the suburbs and towns that still appear to be lacking the power and need the most assistance in rebuilding.

Suzanne reacted to JLMoran in The "90-day flight pricing rule" is validated again
So thanks to the heads-up from @Sabrinaklai, I've been tracking the flight prices on United and JetBlue for the last few weeks. It's been interesting, not leastwise because yesterday was the 90-day mark before my cruise, and today United's fares dropped like a rock to just barely more than the best price I'd seen when I'd started.
Flight itinerary -- EWR to FLL on Wednesday, March 29; returning April 9 JetBlue "Blue Plus" fare selected for all price checks, since it includes one checked bag for $2 less than checking it at the terminal United regular Economy fare for all price checks, since I need the freedom to choose our seats at booking and be sure the family is grouped together as much as possible JetBlue was holding absolutely steady at $494.40 per person ($1,977.60 total; taxes included) for the entire time I had been checking, going back to mid-December. But on Friday, they suddenly jumped up $40 per person for the departure flight ($2,138.40 total), and for no visible reason (apart from maybe that it's a holiday weekend right now); almost all regular seats still available, nothing else to account for it.
Meanwhile, United had started at $408.40 per person ($1,633.60 total; again taxes included). It very quickly jumped by a lot, to just shy of $600 per person at one point. It started coming back down a bit going into this weekend, and then this morning it dropped to $423.60 per person ($1,694.40 total), just a little more than the lowest I'd seen when I'd started tracking.
For those who want to stop reading here, the key takeaway is that this "90-day flight pricing rule" that Sabrina mentioned really does seem to be a real thing. So a big thanks to her for letting us all know about it, and to watch the flight prices like a hawk both decently ahead of this window, and also going into it.

For those who care what happened next with me, go ahead and continue reading. For everyone else...

I've gone ahead purchased my tickets on United, contrary to my original plan to fly JetBlue.
The main driver was the opposite swings in the two prices. The gap went from just under $300 more for JetBlue to just under $500 more. Between that, and the fact that United allowed me to upgrade just my own seat to Economy Plus (for the extra leg room I need) for what I considered a reasonable $150 roundtrip, it was really a no-brainer. Even after tacking on trip insurance for $110, the final price was $1,952.96 -- less than JetBlue at their lowest price I could find, and $340 less using JetBlue's current rate and adding their $160 trip insurance option. If I had upgraded my own seat on JetBlue like I did on United, the difference would bump up to $454.
Now, what's missing here is the checked luggage costs. With United I'll still have to pay $25 per bag when I check in each way, so there's another $200 out of pocket, putting me within $150 of the current JetBlue fare after their trip insurance is tacked on, but I'm still coming out ahead.
All that said, I'm going to take advantage of United's 24-hour no questions asked cancellation policy and re-check the fare tomorrow morning to see if it's gone down again (following a tip I'd read about many lower rates coming out on a Monday night going into Tuesday), and also to see if JetBlue comes back down after we're outside the holiday weekend. But given the daily fluctuations in the United prices, I figured I'd better lock this in while it seems to have come back down. If JetBlue drops and United stays the same, I'll cancel the United flight and switch over to JetBlue.
And if I do stay with United, I'll just have to hope they don't come on board and demand I give up my seat because of overbooking.
