So Chris, is it true that the Captain of the ship lets the crew member of the week (hardest working, most loyal/dedicated/best looking) drive the ship the following week? 

Oh my gosh Chris!!!!!  The trash, cups and plates guests leave everywhere irritates the YOU KNOW WHAT out of me too and I am guest!  When I see anything out of place I pick them up and put them in the proper place.  My husband gets SO irritated with me...he is like - Honey, why in the world are you cleaning?  We are on vacation.  
I also clean up my stateroom like this.  I make sure everything is in the trash and things are not left out and about.  I make the bed and I even compile the towels and put them in the bathtub when we are ready for new ones.  It drives my husband crazy (even after being together/married for 22 years)!  But I know that it's appreciated.  That is why I do it.  

This is what I just got. It worked about 10 minutes ago!

On the Count Down to Cruise page, under the Cruise Documentation heading in the  middle of the right side of the page, click on "check status", then select "check status" under the Guest Vacation Documents heading then select "print document". The luggage tags will be at the end of these documents.

We sail in 18 days, glad I printed off my set sail and cruise documents last month! It seems to me Royal would have emailed a notice to everyone last week about their website upgrade so folks could print what they needed. As Forest said:

 

My suggestion is if you can't login (like me) to give it a day or two.  Just not worth the aggravation.

I wont even bother to check it out for a few days yet...let them iron out all the wrinkles and issues which we know there will be a few based on their past online record.
 
I don't have a cruise to take till Oct so no rush or panic here..I am sure it will be ok by then.....I hope......

I was able to log in my using my email address instead of user name. Then clicked for a password reset. I got in but can't figure out how to find cruise planner. Also can't figure out how to get into my own crown and anchor account when we both share the same password and I'm the one that sets up the account, not hubby.

I bet only VIP Diamond/D+ & Matt can login,,,
 

Hmmmm. All was well until I clicked LOGIN. Seems to just hourglass me to death. At least my next cruise countdown is less than 6 months!
 
 

I was just in San Juan last week - spent two days pre cruise. Love the Old San Juan area! So sorry to hear the plans changed, but could make for a fun spontaneous afternoon of walking around! :)

I'm pretty sure we'll all be quite happy with a few pics/recs/write-ups after you disembark or whenever.

May 5th

The US State Department issued a warning today to avoid tourist ferries in Mexico. RC is/has cancelled all excursions involving tourist ferries. 
This was attached to our door this morning.

@Suzanne I merged your post here to make one thread for covering all of this.

I fly out of Laguardia a few times a year, it's getting better lately  - right now it's heavily under construction though.
I get why your husband booked the hotel around there, it's way cheaper than the city.
I would say do not waste your money using a taxi or Uber to get to the city. Use the LIRR (railroad) or the subway - but buy tickets before you board. It's not exactly cheap but it's not as pricey as a taxi or Uber/Lyft. If money isn't a problem use Lyft or Uber but keep in mind the day of the week it is or the time of day. Traffic is a mess all of the time, absolute worst during rush hours. Off hours and weekends you can be okay. I live about a half hour from LaGuardia but always give myself over an hour to get there.
I can sorta help with train stuff, I know the LIRR, the subway I could ask someone.
 

You could do that, but after dropping luggage off, take the subway back to Manhattan. Far more affordable option than a taxi.
My only other thought was to drop luggage off at a hotel in Manhattan and tip the bellman to hold it. 

HI Suzanne, I"m trying to figure out the itinerary. You dock in Bayonne, RCCL provides a transfer to where in NYC? To Laguardia? What day of the week  do you dock? These are factors you need to consider.  If you are docking midweek, whew traffic is a nightmare getting to Laguardia, then going back to Manhattan?? I'm just trying to help you out if he won't change the hotel.
Can you change your flights from Newark perhaps? Then you you only dealing with a quick Uber to the hotel about $15.00, and lots of transporation available to get into NYC?

IT'S CRUISE DAY!!!
I flew into Houston Hobby airport last night and stayed at an airport hotel.   My hotel had renovations underway which has been a theme for me recently.   It wasn't until breakfast when I saw the new lower 3 feet of drywall everywhere on the 1st floor that it dawned on me it was from Hurricane Harvey flood damage.   
I'm in my Lyft ride heading towards Galveston as I write this.  Just over an hour for $50.   ETA 10:10am.   
Light traffic on this Sunday morning and we made the terminal at 10:03am.  Quick drop of luggage and into the terminal to check in.  It looks like they just opened and there aren't many people here.  A group of 15 headed into the Suites/Pinnacle/Diamond Plus queue leaving the Diamond/Emerald/Platinum queue just to me.  I went to next available agent and... the computers went down.  Around 10:30 they came back online one by one.  Unfortunately for me and my neighbor our agent's computers didn't come back so they slid us over to working agents and away we went.  I wasn't too concerned because I knew we had to wait for boarding anyways.  Upstairs into the top tier waiting area it seems they had started boarding when I arrived upstairs but suffering from the same computer outage they had halted boarding. 

The upstairs area has a vendor area where they sell lanyards.

I got some water from the dispensers and just sat down they started boarding again.  By 10:50am I was onboard.  Pretty easy boarding process despite the brief computer issue.  This trip is already starting off a lot smoother than my last Galveston departure on some other cruise line a few years ago (before I switched to Royal).
This seven night cruise will complete the Freedom class trilogy for me.  Freedom ✅.  Independence ✅.  Liberty ✅ . 
Leaving from Galveston I have two sea days, Roatán, Costa Maya, Cozumel, a sea day then back to Galveston.  Liberty has two primary itineraries.  This cruise is the more western of these western routes.  A nautical style map was on display in the Promenade.

The promenade is adorned with a large Texas flag to greet us:

Café Promenade was open so I had a roast beef plus a turkey sandwich.  Let the food coma commence.

With some time to kill before cabins are available I decided to check out a few spots.

It's an overcast day here in Galveston so I'll wait to take more pictures around the ship once we are in nicer weather.
I was pleased to discover O3b based Voom.  With that I can confirm everything Freedom class and newer has O3b Voom.

With that it's almost time for cabins to be available.

HELLO from the Schooner! We’ve made it on board, and the ship looka wonderful. All furnishings have been refreshed and the exterior has been painted. She looks great! Stay tuned for a more extended update!

3 bedroom (1 queen, 2 double), 2.5 bath Villa located in Old San Juan. AirBnB host has been great, and the property and location are incredible.
