Specialty dining restaurants with kids
betatke1480 replied to Jimmy29L's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
Most of the kid's menus are pretty appropriate, but in our experience, if there's something that they want, the staff typically can get it, either from the MDR or from the Windjammer, and have it brought to the specialty restaurant. They've always been very accommodating to our daughter. -
I wouldn’t book anything. The genie will handle it all for you. We are on Oasis in Star Class next February also. The genie will handle all of your entertainment and dining. It’s tough to let go of the planning for some people, myself included, but’s that’s part of what we pay for!

I would recommend one-way car rental or smart-two.com for a shuttle. We've had great luck with the shuttle, and the car rental return is right next to the port for Alamo, Enterprise, and National.

We ended up with the more "catering" side of things as @AshleyDillo referenced when we were on Anthem. On our next opportunity, we know now to push for food to be delivered from a specialty restaurant. That's what we really wanted, but our Genie heard party and went into planning mode. It turned out amazing, with great food, bartender in suite, and "invitations" printed. It was above and beyond what we were expecting. It was a great experience, just having done it, we would go more casual with meat planks or sushi and a bartender. I will say that having a bartender was very inexpensive. I think around $10 per person, which is next to nothing when you consider drink prices. It's a great way to spend some OBC if you have it, since that can be difficult in Star Class. @WAAAYTOOO had great advice. It was very nice to be the bookend of the cabin crawl and have everyone in the suite. It was a lot of fun, and a nice way to end the crawl.

Brilliance and Odyssey just booked recently. Once I put it all down in one place I realized how many I had booked and was even shocked at it myself. ?

Somehow talked the wife into letting me go solo. Actually wasn't that much arm twisting, especially with the great price on a solo studio.

I agree with what's been said. With all of the activities, Star Class was a huge plus for us on Anthem. Not having to wait in lines for bumper cars, or being able to get right in to the shows was fantastic. I also agree that it was quite a long walk back to the aft of the ship every time to go to our room, and I missed the atmosphere of the O class ships.

The Magic of Majesty. August 2019 and then again in October

I loved the Schooner Bar on Majesty. It was very big to accommodate trivia, etc. And the views were fantastic with the windows.- 154 replies

Grand Suite Amenities - Enchantment of the Sea
betatke1480 replied to Kenton Smith's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We stayed in a Grand Suite on Enchantment last Thanksgiving. The concierge will help you with any issues instead of Guest Services. You'll also get water and fruit delivered to your room. You get to order free room service, and you can order room service from the MDR during dining hours. We did not use the concierge lounge at all on our 4 nighter. You also can dine at Chops for breakfast, which is nice. On debarkation, you can dine in Chops for breakfast, and then the concierge will walk you off the ship, somewhat expedited. You can also get priority lines for getting off the ship in ports, although it was never really an issue on Enchantment for us. One word of warning, we had a fair amount of noise in our GS from the pool deck above. You can follow the link in my signature for our live blog from the Oasis/Enchantment S2S we did last year.- 11 replies

We will be on Oasis 2/23/2020. I don't think I would be able to get away with 2 star class sailings within a month...

Just let him go to Windjammer and get Mongolian.

@Lovetocruise2002 thinking of eating somewhere other than CK? I'm shocked. Not very on brand for the President of #TeamCK! ?

Favorite Ship? Please share and why!
betatke1480 replied to RobinL's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Oasis Class are our favorite. We love the neighborhoods and how wide the ship is. We also really like being able to move from aft to forward easy via deck 5,6, or 8. -
Cruising with Greatness – Anthem Group Cruise – July 4-13, 2019

@Lovetocruise2002 as I sit at work, (ugh that sucks typing it. Where's Shane?) I'm still riding a high from this cruise. So many great memories and stories. Putting faces and personalities to usernames was awesome. We can't wait to see everyone again! -

He has been throwing around celebratory sweet treats today, so maybe. Or a gift from Next Cruise for all of the bookings for Allure 2021. ? -
@WAAAYTOOO covered it very well. I would just add that if you let Shane know ahead of time what you like to eat, and what activities you want to do, he will get it all organized. On embarkation day he had a spreadsheet that covered every day, and included the group cruise activities that I emailed him about. Every night he also emails us the next day’s schedule. He has been so great with the group cruise. We communicate with him via email. My wife sends him our desired breakfast order every night for the next morning and it shows up, plus whatever she wants from Starbucks. We see him several times per day, and any changes we’ve wanted to make have been very easy to communicate and change. He booked Northstar multiple times, as well as iFly and the Escape Room, that way if we missed one we could do it later in the sailing. Attached is an example of the schedule.

Cruising with Greatness – Anthem Group Cruise – July 4-13, 2019

So, we stopped at the Amsterdam Cheese store, and we are not big Gouda fans, but it was delicious. Definitely thinking about getting some to bring back when we are here next. We also stopped at La Suciere in Coles Bay, and it was fantastic. It appears the Belgian Chocolate place may be closed, at least according to GoogleMaps. We didn’t look too hard for it, but I know @tiny260 was planning on trying to go. -
Shane is fantastic. Such a great personality and willingness to provide a great experience.
