I wouldn't like to breath recycled air all the time while in the cabin. Nothing replaces smell of fresh salty sea air before going to the bed or wonderful view when you wake up in the morning.

JS, Balcony, or OV are the only cabins I would consider. I wonder how the folks on the Diamond Princess feel about Insides?

In fine print (12.) quoted by @AshleyDillo they are talking about stripping you from Club Royale benefits - nothing about denying payouts from your winnings.

For those who wonder about Johnny Rockets and the dining and beverages packages...  We went to JR today for lunch (no $$ limit) and our shakes were included with our refreshments packages.  SCORE !
On a similar topic...we had dinner tonite at Chops.  I had the spicy shrimp (yummy) and Dan ordered the lamb shank being served in the MDR tonite. We advised them, when we arrived at Chops, that Dan would be ordering the lamb shank so that they would get a bit of a head’s up.  It was delivered in a timely manner and was excellent.  We decided that we were full and didn’t want dessert right then (burgers at JR may or may not have played a role, here !).  Instead, we made reservations for dessert only at Wonderland on our way back to the room. The Wonderland concierge seemed a bit confused with our request but made the reservation for us.  We intend to go to Wonderland to sample The World - finally - at 8:00. I will let everyone know that goes.  I have high expectations.

So far, we have run into Yen every day of this cruise.  We’ve seen her almost as often on this cruise as we did last year when she was our Genie.  She told us that We Will Rock You has been cancelled for tomorrow (due to reduced #of pax on this cruise) and will only be performed on the last day - once in the afternoon and once in the evening.  She is such a sweetie. She told us to call her if we need anything but of course, we would never do that.

Cez reacted to WAAAYTOOO in Is there an equivalent of Coastal Kitchen on Freedom ?
No, unfortunately. Grand Suites and above (and Pinnacles) can eat breakfast in either Chops or Giovannis (whichever that ship uses....I think it’s Chops) but that is the only meal.  JS are not included in this.

Letting child to wake up alone in strange environment, crying until you show-up all the way from the pool deck. How do you or your spouse think that it is a good parenting?  Sounds like it might get you "Parent of the year" award. Category: remote parents
Should something happen will you blame Royal Wi-Fi ?  Just in case keep it handy:

so basically you want to leave younger kid unattended, alone in the room, checking your phone from time to time. I've deleted so many comments that I wrote after that....

If they swap your card (they will 98% of the time, excluding for bottled water), you can see the list of all the times and places card was used. It is recorded on your account. So for your stats, you can check it on your TV the evening before debarkation.

Cez reacted to twangster in Anthem - "The Gift" Explained
I've heard a number of people express confusion about "The Gift", an original Royal Caribbean production that runs on Anthem of the Seas.
On board Anthem on channel 14 they run a series of short clips about various things Royal Caribbean.  One of those short clips talks to The Gift and explains the story line.
The Gift is about a family.  The father is a simple man who runs a tug boat.  He and his wife created a beautiful little life with their two children.  The mother passes away leaving the family lost and torn apart.
The father has lost his way and becomes detached from life and his children.
The daughter is an adventure seeker.  A young lady looking to live her life but with her father having become disengaged from his children she is left to only dream of her adventures through books and in her mind, detached from her family.
The son is a tinkerer who loves mechanical things and taking things apart.  In the face of losing his mother who gave him direction but now with only his father who is vacant he too is detached from life and from his the family.
The Gift is a story about this family, alive but not living, stuck in their way having lost their matriarch and their journey on stage starting at this point in the story.
The mother in the spirit world sees her family struggling, torn and detached.  She sends her family a gift in the material world.  There is nothing in the gift but it turns the family's life upside down and leads to a series of events that play out on stage in the spirit world.
The rest of the cast of The Gift live in the spirit world.  Looking closely you will see their makeup is pale and ghost like compared to the father and his children.  They are storytellers in the spirit world helping each member of the family through a series of journeys to find themselves, playing out their dreams, waking them up and re-engaging them with life and back into a family.
Once you understand the plot of the story it makes a lot of sense watching The Gift as it is presented on stage.  It's actually a pretty interesting production with good music and strong production talent.

I guess it depends upon whether you want to pay it forward and be sensitive to others" needs.  There are lots of casual venues, and you don't have to wear a suit on formal night.  When I am treated nicely by other guests on a cruise, it helps me spread the love the next time I travel...Happy holidays!

Cez reacted to Matt in Can you wear shorts into My Time Dining?
As you can see from the responses here, enforcement of the rules is sparse at best.
The reality is the rules are left purposefully vague because Royal Caribbean does not want to get into the business of being the fashion police.
On the one hand, there is no posted list that explicitly states shorts are not allowed into the MDR for dinner. On the other hand, it is culturally inappropriate to wear shorts to a sophisticated restaurant.
This becomes more of a question of "should you" versus "can you" wear shorts to the MDR.

Cez reacted to twangster in Carnival ships collide, almost hit Oasis
I understand based on news reports one passenger on the Glory was injured.  Thoughts and prayers for that individual.
Here is the video I shot from my balcony on Oasis.
Despite the collision with the Legend, the bridge crew on the Glory did a pretty spectacular job avoiding a collision with the Oasis.  When I first saw the bow of the Glory come into view it was close.  Too close.  It occured to me a collision was highly possible.
As I was shooting the video I was keeping an eye on the stern of Glory.  It was getting closer.  I knew they couldn't apply a lot of stern thrust to keep the stern off us without driving the bow into the bow of Oasis.  As the bow of Glory began to clear the bow of Oasis I could see them apply stern thrust to avoid impact.  It was a tight near miss and excellent seamanship on their part to avoid a second collision.

The wide angle lens is misleading.  The people on Glory were close.  I could have tossed them a bottle of water.

It was obvious that he was doing a good job watching her and following her everywhere but made a terrible decision to put her on the reeling. Horrible accident at his fault but must be forgiven by the parents. Blaming third party doesn't accomplish it.
