  1. Biggest mistake would be not asking experts on here so top marks for you! Research research research, plan plan plan, so you can enjoy enjoy enjoy!!
  2. Sounds awesome. The only downside is you didn't get to beautiful Wales. Excuse to come back I guess!
  3. Wow - congrats. Sounds exciting!!! Safe travels!
  4. Congrats!!! We have 14 days on Grandeur in January to push us to 69 and still in Emerald so booked a JS for 7 day cruise next September to jump us to Diamond before Oasis in Jan 24 to benefit! #addictedtoRCI
  5. Well not cheaper than the free water but you know what I mean!!
  6. If you pre-order the water package (12 or 24 bottles or cans) it works out much cheaper....
  7. Did the Ovation one a few years ago on our very first cruise. Really interesting to see behind the scenes and it really makes you realise the amount of work that goes unseen. Hats off to the staff working so we can have a great holiday/vacation* *Delete as applicable!
  8. Hey Kate I hope you mean Southampton as Northampton is about 130 miles from the coast Enjoy wherever you are starting from!!
  9. 100%. Even clothes you leave in the cabin and don't wear shrink! Despite the walls being lined with something to block out the wi-fi the salt air gets through!
  10. Maybe just a glitch in the matrix, I mean a temporary fault in the UK version! Thanks @KristiZ and @WAAAYTOOO
  11. Hi. I have 2 B2Bs booked on Grandeur from Miami in January (5 nights from 8th and 9 nights from 13th). Was going to have a look at the current prices and cabin availability and the actual sailings are no longer visible! However, they are both still showing in my bookings. The only date shown for GOTS in Jan is 9 nights from 27th!! Is it 'normal' for dates to be removed temporarily or should I be looking at other options?! Thanks!
  12. Had Joff on my very first cruise(s) on Ovation - he was brilliant! His #2 was a blonde lady (Dutch I think - wish could remember her name) but they were superb together.
  13. Good shout - very good search site - thanks @AshleyDillo - although I have to pretend to live in North America when searching!!
  14. Hi @SewerUrchin43 My Grandeur sailing in January from Miami does not specify a particular brand just says 'bottles' until you go to order then it says '12 or 24 cans'! My planner for Explorer from Venice next September states San Benedetto cans - not sure if just an Italian thing though??? As I go for the refreshment package I never order the bottles/cans as can get as I go and they have always been bottles when ordered from bars or when getting off the ship and the sparkling has been San Pellegrino. I do not recall ever having their own RCI H2O. I am sure somebody ( @twangster@Matt etc) will know each brand by ship by port by day!! Enjoy the cruise!
  15. There are much wiser people on here than me but I don't think you change mid-cruise but on your next one you will be at that higher level!
  16. Interesting to read the opinions and it is all so subjective!! We got married in St Lucia (Pigeon Point) around 28 years ago and managed to get back there on a cruise a few years ago. On the same cruise we stopped at Antigua too for the 1st time. If I was going for a longer holiday/vacation I would personally choose Antigua as I felt was safer and cleaner with a greater choice of stunning beaches. St Lucia has the Pitons amongst the attractions so if that is on your list then may be a factor. But it is all so down to what you want from the trip so do lots of research, watch videos and read reviews - and if it still a very close call maybe look at the costs!! Enjoy whatever one you choose! PS If Barbados was not being considered would also suggest looking at that
  17. May be worth making the call when you are together due to data protection and all that stuff. Even if you are married they may not be able/willing to talk to you about your wife's personal details unless she is there to either do it in person or verify and authorise you to act on her behalf....just so you don't risk waiting hours on a call to get nowhere! Good luck....
  18. Worth noting if B2B and you have booked same cabin for both then the Royal Up is unlikely to give you the same cabin even if you win bids on both parts....
  19. Hi all Saw a comment on Facebook about Explorer being 'unavailable' in February 2023 so looked at the booking page and it appears nothing from end of January until early March. Is it likely it is the postponed amplification from 2020, or is it not unusual for ships to be 'rested'??! Hoping the former as I am on her in September next year! Thanks
  20. Sorry - you are correct - I buy it as wife does not have the refreshment package so we can both get coffees at same time - I should have been clear!!
  21. Hi Jane Lee I don't drink so I always get the refreshment package and I feel it is good value for money. I also get a coffee card so I can have the speciality coffees to wake me up! With the refreshment package you get the freestyle cup for as many Cokes/Dr Peppers that you can manage (and a zillion other fizzy soda drink flavours), plus bottles of still or sparkling water and unlimited mocktails (virgin pina coladas etc). Even on days where you are off the ship for a few hours it is very easy to have more than 5 or 6 drinks - you can grab a couple of bottles of water to take off with you if required. My wife does like a drink but we pay as we go for her alcoholic drinks but do take on 2 bottles of wine at the start. If the pre-purchase shows 3 night dining package (usually on 6 day plus cruises) we usually book that which comes with 40% off bottles of wine (under $100) which you can move from restaurant to MDR if not finished. Have a great trip.
