  1. @tiny260, thank you for asking. We had minimal damage compared to thousands in Houston, so we are thankful. Our law office downtown was closed for an entire week due to the flooding. Many friends, co-workers and some family were affected. I doubt anyone around here doesn't know at lease one person who wasn't affected. Just terrible.
  2. So glad you made it home safely. As I was reading your post, I was preparing myself for "sour grapes," but you have a remarkably wonderful attitude about it. The world would be a better place if more people kept things in perspective like you. Again, glad you and your family made it home safely.
  3. Wow, this is terrible. Hoping they get rebuilt soon. Those are ports I would love to visit. God bless them.
  4. We tried bringing food back to the room on trays once and it was a huge pain. After waiting a long time for the elevators, being crammed in elevators packed with people, we didn't even want our food when we got back to the room. We would rather pay the small fee and get room service if we really want to stay in the room.
  5. Oh man, here we go: (1) Lava Flow; (2) Mudslide; (3) Strawberry / Banana Colada. As you can probably tell I like sweet drinks. And the Mudslide with vodka, Bailey's chocolate and kahlua is amazing.

  7. Does Royal Caribbean assign "placeholder" room numbers for guaranteed rooms that are yet unassigned? The reason I ask is that our room is 6666 on deck 6. At first, I thought it was a joke, but so many people above said their rooms were assigned weeks/months out. And, there is a room 6666 on the deck plan.
  8. I guess my dreams of racking up massive points on the penny and nickel slots won't get me far. LOL. But seriously, I have a friend who is loyal to Carnival and she told me spends roughly $150 - $200 per day in the casino and she has been invited a couple of time to casino-members-only-reward cruises (again, on Carnival). Now, those "reward" cruises have restrictions -- I remember she had to take it within 90 days of the cruise she was just on -- which would be a problem for most people being able to take another week off within the same 90 days period. I work at a law firm and my attorneys would laugh at me if I did that.
  9. On our first cruise - EVER - last year, our flight was delayed 5 hours due to mechanical issues. Matt always stresses how you should fly out the day before and it is golden advice. We always, always will.
  10. I changed from an ocean view cabin to a guaranteed ocean view balcony on the Liberty (sailing in 2 weeks) and it was approx. $59 each to upgrade. Amazing value.
  11. We sail on the Liberty of the Seas out of Galveston on September 24th -- all systems go! I may be in the minority here, but I think it would be darn pretty cool to be stranded on the ship a few extra days waiting for a storm to blow thru. What better excuse to get out of work and take a few extra vacation days!
