Jupiter reacted to monctonguy in Navigator VS Indy
Oh yeah...we had a blast at the nightclub on Indy....and we were between then ages of 35-45.....lots to do and see....and there was a line up to get in on a cpl of the nights...On Navigator I found that because there really wasn't ONE place to go, that every place was pretty quiet, dead and lacking any kind of fun to be honest.

If you're thinking that Oasis class ships are crowded, they are not. At least not any more crowded than any other ships.
Oasis class has been designed with the best passenger flow that I've ever seen on any ship anywhere. You would never know there are 6k+ passengers on the ship.

Which strikes me as really odd when they're supposed to be the best line for families with kids and teens. What do (at least a lot of) older teens like to do at night? Go to a club with their friends and listen to music while (awkwardly) checking out the attractive members of the opposite gender and/or socializing with the friends they've made on board. Even if the adults among the guests aren't so into the club scene any more, a loud driving beat with complimentary drinks is like the candle flame for the moths.
Spoken as the parent of two teen girls who would roll their eyes at the thought of doing that, but then go along and come back raving about the time they had. ?

Its what they did on Navigator I believe.....and I was disappointed as the nightclub/life on Indy was way more active than Navigator....seems like they have pretty much phased out the nightclubs on Royal ships compared to other cruise lines such as Carnival and NCL...

Aha, thank you! I was thinking that's where Sabor is on Freedom if I remember correctly.

A night club. It's possible it will be converted to Sabor after the refurbishment.

Saw Matt's statement of no Sabor on Indy, so I went to check out the deck plans to see what all is onboard. What is The Labyrinth?

Either would be great choices, plenty of opportunities on both sizes of ships.

Navigator. More modern design, lots of activities, more food options, nicer rooms, etc.

What they said ^^^
Navigator is the "no brainer" option! Especially if you're a newbie! Enchantment is more subdued (aka less to do, older crowd), but it is still wonderful for a "seasoned" cruiser. The Navigator-class and Freedom-class ships are, for me, the sweet spot between getting a whole lot for your money while not spending a lot of your money (a la Oasis-class and Quantum-class). It will be a big win for you!

Navigator, more options as far as I'm concerned.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. Both are good choices. Let price and schedule decide.

Jupiter reacted to Matt in Navigator VS Indy
Navigator, primarily because it has Sabor and a few other updates, and it's likely to be cheaper and offer a more varied itinerary.

Think Navigator was refreshed to include more "stuff" than Indy but I haven't looked too closely at either one in a while.
More similar than different so price/itinerary as mentioned would probably be large drivers for me.

I liked Indy a little better than Navigator......CD's were better(but gone now), pool deck area seemed to be bigger....nightlife was better(two level night club).....but I wouldn't worry too much between either...for me would come down to price and itinerary......all things being equal there I would prob pick Indy.

Wow. You sound like one of those late night "feed the children" spokesperson. ?

I would also recommend Indy over Enchantment mainly because of the teen club. More to do on Indy for the kids than Enchantment, aka Flowriders and skating rinks!

Welcome to Royal Caribbean Blog!
We have done all 3 ships and loved each of the sailings. I would agree with the others and recommend Indy or Navigator and especially with the kids. However, if there is any way you could pull off 7 nights on an Oasis class I would go that route.

Since Indy is getting a refurb (if I'm correct in that thought), I'd wait to go on her and sail Enchantment now. For 4 days Enchantment was great. Then again, I don't have teenagers, and wasn't one when I was on Enchantment, twice.

I love both ships.....I think the 5 day to Cozumel, Cozumel is the only port? So that's 4 full days on the ship.......with 3 kids going you want a ship with lots of activities.(which Indy has)
However, on Enchantment you prob have 2 ports or maybe 3 in the 4 days and if its stops at Nassau and Coco Cay plus maybe Key West that may give the kids more to do during the day at those places.
The 17 and 20 yr old may find there isn't much for them to do on the 5 day cruise as they are too old for the kids sections and games but not old enough to join in with the crowd that is able to enjoy drinks by the pool and the night life etc....
Just my 2 cents...

Definitely Indy. You don't want to go smaller than what you've already sailed and there will be more the kids to do on Indy.
