Great information from all.  We needed to use the medical facility on one of our cruises and we learned that they are an outsourced operation.  My wife received great service and Tamiflu but unfortunately my wife was quarantined to the room.  The doctor even gave me Tamiflu as a preventive.  They will charge you for the service and you will have to file an insurance claim when you get back home.  In our case, $348 and it goes on your SeaPass card.

Don't confuse voltage/current with frequency.  Ship frequency isn't a standard constant of 60 HZ per second like it is in your home therefore electric clocks don't run properly.  Not a big deal,,,,except for clocks.  ?

Off topic, but if you live in an area that has a Harris Teeters grocery store, here is another way to save money.  Harris Teeters offers Fuel Points.  For every 100 dollars you spend, you get 10 cents off at BP or Amoco.  Here is the catch.  If you purchase gift cards, such as Visa, than you get 20 cents for every 100.  I purchase using my 0% point earning credit card the Visa gift card, I than use that card to buy my groceries.
Hard to follow I know.  So here's how the numbers work.  I go in and buy 200 for the Visa gift card, because that is double points, I now have 40 cents off.  (Credit Card is also getting points since that is how I pay for the gift card)  I now go and buy 200 in groceries, which means 20 cents more per gallon.  I now am getting 60 cents off per gallon while at the same time getting CC points.  My husband drives a RAM pick up truck, large tank, crappy gas mileage.  He fills his tank every other week.  We have not paid more than 1.50 per gallon in the last 6 months for both of our cars.
Just saying that when you think about marketing in any aspect it is everywhere.  I am sure sooner than later Harris Teeter will catch on that customers are doing what I am doing and put a halt to that, but until they do, I am going to use the system they created.

A couple of hints on my mistakes.  Never put your credit card or sea pass card in your pocket next to your cell phone.  It tends to erase the magnetic coding.
Take a picture of the location sign in the terminal where you parked your car.  That way when you get back after a trip you can find it.  That one would have saved me a couple hours wandering around the terminal clicking my key remote only to finally discover that I was in the wrong terminal.

    LMAO.
We went to Italy for 2 weeks as a family of 5.  Hubby drops us all off at the curb and parks the car.  2 weeks later we return and he can't remember which aisle he parked the car.  At 10 pm with a 90 min ride ahead of us, he is walking up and down every aisle with us in tow spread out in other aisles hitting the lock button on the Fob.
I now not only make him take a pic, but also text me the row and number of where we parked to my phone if he loses his phone.

    Parking at Port Everglades
How does that work?  Is it possible to unload large luggage before parking the car?  How do we know what terminal to park by?  HOTS on March 17.
I have been reading these forums for months and haven’t joined because I know I won’t be cruising again for awhile and I already feel I know some of you (at least your personality). So many questions have been answered and so many helpful hints have been suggested that I am now the cruise expert of our group.  I have saved money myself, and am passing on hints to my favourite family members....
I couldn’t find the answer to the question above.  If I get an answer, one of my sisters will be so happy (see, I’m the youngest sister and not nearly as smart as my older siblings).
    Thank you everyone!

We took our first cruise in January.  Our official boarding time was 1230.  I was adamant that we weren't going to get there early...cause...you know...rules and stuff.

My wife read here that you can show up whenever.  Rather than be left alone, I went with her to the terminal....and we were on the ship before 11:00  ?

Agreed, this is very important, my wife's issue was multi faceted, the tour guide took us to an amazing Italian restaurant (Duhhh) up in the hills around Positano (Amalfi) the meal was amazing and came with all the Vino you wanted, then the drive back around very narrow twisting hills, 2 lane road, she basically got car sick, to hot, to much wine, so she sat out the Pompeii tour.
When I got back it was really cute, these little Italian women were taking care of her, she doesn't speak Italian and they didn't speak English, but they communicated.

From a security standpoint, I would definitely not be in favor of this. From a curiosity standpoint, definitely. Not everyone is just curious, however. Also, ships would probably have to exchange manifests, not sure how easy that would be.

Like any form of insurance from personal property, liability, health, life or travel, insurance coverage is designed to cover you for unexpected events.  If all goes well with your trip you will never need to make a claim against an insurance policy.
Just like other forms of insurance there are different coverage options available for travel insurance.  You can get very specific coverage that might cover just one type of covered event such as lost luggage or you get can a policy that covers a variety of covered events such as lost luggage, trip delays, medical coverage out of country, emergency medical transportation, and repatriation (getting back to your home country after a covered event).   There is one type of travel insurance called Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR).  With that type of policy if you decide you no longer want to go on the trip for any reason as outlined in the policy, you can cancel and get some or all of your money back.  Each policy has terms and conditions or restrictions.  CFAR typically can't be purchased as the trip date gets closer.  Other forms of insurance can be purchased closer to trip date.
Different policies provide different coverage amounts.  One company or policy might provide $50 if your luggage is lost while another one might provide $500 for lost luggage.  One might provide $1,000 of medical coverage while another provides $50,000 of medical coverage.  You need to research each insurance option to determine which one provides the type of coverage you seek and which policy provides the dollar amounts of coverage you desire.
Insurance is offered by cruise lines but it's typically one policy with fixed coverage.  Often these forms of insurance must be purchased when the trip is booked.  Insurance purchased directly with a broker or insurance company may be available with a variety of options and costs.  These insurance policies can usually be purchased after the trip is booked but before the trip starts.
In many cases a travel insurance policy may require you to pay expenses upfront and submit receipts for reimbursement.  A cruise ship has a medical facility on board but they don't accept any insurance, you pay out of pocket and then you must file a claim with your insurance provider to seek reimbursement.  The same may occur if something happens in a foreign country.  That hospital or clinic will most likely require you to pay out of pocket and then you must file a claim with your insurance provider to seek reimbursement.  There are some insurance policies that work with medical facilities in some countries.  These are all items to research as you consider different insurance options.
The credit card you use to book a trip may provide some limited forms of travel insurance.  Check with your credit card company.
Travel insurance is available to cover one specific trip and there are annual insurance policies that can cover multiple trips.
Without assuming anything about you, your country and/or state of residence can play a part in determining what insurance options are available for you.

It's based in Florida.  No such thing as few D/D+/P on any cruise from Florida.
The Diamond Lounge is shrinking on purpose before it's inevitable disappearing act coming to a ship refreshment at some point.   The Star Lounge sits empty often so if Royal is going to lose real estate to a free Diamond happy hour it might as well be in a less desirable venue compared to the VCL.  Imagine how peaceful the VCL will be now every evening from 4-8pm.
I imagine the load on the rear elevator bank on port is going to be significantly less each evening as well.

Just read Matt's blog article on the new Navigator of the Seas and noticed that they moved the Diamond club to deck 5.  I'm assuming that both Diamond and Diamond + will be combined in the Diamond club.  Looks kind of small for for that many D's and D+'s.
Oh look, we will have a couple of port holes to look out of. ?
Other than that, the ship really looks great.  We will have to try the Navigator again.  Soon.
