  1. So update on the cruise planning. I booked Jamies for the last evening. I have never done specialty dining as my wife and I are big fans of the main dining room but since it will be a couple of years before I will be able to cruise again, why not. Also finally, the Escape Room has appeared in the cruise planner! We are booked for after dinner while in Nassau. I love escape rooms and the ones on Royal's ships look more elaborate than any I have been to. I am not sure how the larger groups will work but I have only heard good things. We are still not sure what we want to do in Nassau. We are back and forth between beach day or staying on the ship. Any thoughts? I'll leave you with some photos from 2015 of my students performing in Nassau in the Centrum on Enchantment of the Seas and the tired old lady herself
  2. Just popped up for me too (June 24)! Have to talk to the wife to find out when she wants to do it!
  3. In my defense, I did not know that this thread existed.
  4. Up until recently, there were people on this board that were heaping praise upon how Labadee was so much better than CocoCay. How the tables have turned!
  5. Navigator of the Seas - June 24, 2019
  6. I think there is a communication problem here. What I believe @Mathew Jones wants is a pdf of the cruise compass in the app because the app neither has everything in it nor is it always accurate.
  7. I want to thank everyone for their advice. We decided to compromise and leave our daughter at home and do a short cruise by ourselves. That way we get to cruise the way we want and not be away from her for too long. We'll take her along when she is a little older. 42 days until Navigator!
  8. I agree. Though, the long-distance coastal passenger trade is pretty much non-existent.
  9. The law is the Passenger Vessel Services Act of 1886. It was designed to protect the US domestic passenger industry from foreign competition. Of course, now there little left of the domestic passenger industry but the law still remains. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passenger_Vessel_Services_Act_of_1886 (Credit to @twangster for educating us on this topic earlier)
  10. You won’t see one of these in the US. US laws do not allow cruises to nowhere from US ports on foreign-flagged vessels.
  11. Not everyone can fit a 7 day cruise in their schedule/life. (That includes me at the moment). If Enchantment and Majesty were still the only options for short cruises, I would not have booked my upcoming 4 nighter (can’t wait to try Navigator!). That being said, I do agree that it would make more sense for Indy to do longer itineraries.
  12. Put your phone in airplane mode then just turn on Bluetooth and you should be fine. That is assuming that the Fitbit app doesn’t insist on an internet connection.
  13. I admire your ability to hold in your excitement for your cruise for so long. I do not have that skill. Looking forward to following your blog. I can't wait to book an Oasis class when my kid is older.
  14. If you look closely at the end of that video, you can see that the permanent bridge is finished and the temporary bridge has been removed. It also looks like Harbor Beach and the end of the zip line are finished as well.
  15. If either of you are so inclined, could you see if they are signing people up on this ship or what?
  16. I am sailing on June 24. I asked on a Facebook group and they said they hadn't seen it yet. Just trying to figure out if I will be able to reserve it or if that has to be my first stop when I get on the ship. It looks too awesome to miss.
  17. Add another one to the "Unofficial" RoyalCaribbeanBlog Group Cruise!
  18. Has anyone seen the escape room appear in the cruise planner? I am keeping my eyes open for it but it would be nice to know if it is a lost cause or not.
  19. It was up in the air whether this was going to happen or not. So I was just excited that I was able to book it that I wanted to share my enthusiasm!
  20. Hello everyone, I have been enjoying these live blogs for over a year so I thought I would contribute. So let's start with some background. Who: Me and my wife (Teachers!) What: A cruise on the newly refurbished Navigator of the Seas When: June 24-28, 2019 + flying in the day before. Where: Nassau and Coco Cay Why: We just booked this trip (practically last minute!) as we decided we wanted to have a getaway before we think of expanding our family but didn't want to spend too much time away from our lovely toddler-aged daughter. Why not bring her, you ask? Well, even though people have shared wonderful experiences that they have had with their young children on board, it was not the type of vacation we were looking for. We have done short cruises on Enchantment and Majesty before and wanted something more modern but on a short cruise and Navigator fit the bill nicely. If they wouldn't have upgraded and larger ships on these itineraries, I don't think we would be doing a cruise (someday our child(ren) will be older and we will do a longer cruise)! Excursions: Nothing planned. Maybe the flight sim for me in Nassau and a massage for my wife. We were big fans of the "rustic" Coco Cay and were hesitant about all of the upgrades to the island. But after hearing such glowing reviews, I am excited to give it an honest try. I am excited to try all of the new amenities on Navigator: Bamboo Room, Lime and the Coconut, Playmakers (Team Drink Package), the waterslides, FlowRider, escape room, and ice skating. We might even try some specialty dining for the first time. Maybe Hooked for lunch and Jamie's for a dinner? 56 days to go! I'll leave you with a "historical" photo of Coco Cay.
  21. Once you are past security the United terminal is nice.
