  1. I would argue that they are doing this for public relations reasons. If they thought it was a major concern they would just cancel the sailings like they did in China but they are not. Now it could reach that point but we are not there yet.
  2. Quick question. Why didn't you just stay on the train and get off at Circular Quay? I was under the impression (admittedly with only minimal research) that all trains from the airport went to Circular Quay.
  3. I see they only had the fake trolleys out today.
  4. I am not saying that it is impossible, just unlikely. In the picture, that you posted, you can easily see the area that has been dredged for cruise ships and the east extension of the pier used to tie off large vessels. Your proposed bridge would go right through that area. Why go to the expense to do that and then block it off. Here are some pictures from the last 10 years or so that show that space being used for ships. Sometimes two ships, sometimes large ships. And ships are only getting bigger. I just don't see the local government allowing a bridge there that would limit the pier's utility in the future. That being said, a bridge would be really convenient, I just don't see it happening.
  5. I doubt the government would allow that, but if they did it would have to be a movable bridge or really high as some taller ships do tie up on the far side of the dock. The furthest slip also can handle the the largest ships or two back to back so I doubt the government would want to compromise that. Would be nice though.
  6. If you read the original article (http://www.tribune242.com/news/2020/feb/27/royal-caribbeans-pi-land-deals-revealed/), it sounds like Royal is buying up pretty much everything west of the Yoga Retreat (https://goo.gl/maps/o25HT4S8Gf4meN4f7). They are now trying to get access to the undeveloped government land between the last of the houses and the light house. When I was in Nassau in June, I thought that it was weird that a lot of the properties looked run down and abandoned. At the time I just thought it was just hurricane damage but it might have just been that Royal had bought them and were just letting them rot until they could tear them down.
  7. I was talking about using the guilty plea in the civil case that I am assuming would have a jury.
  8. After some more research, a guilty plea is admissible but it does not automatically mean that he is liable. He will have a chance to explain his reasoning for that guilty plea. It would be up to the jury to determine how that guilty plea will be used in their decision making process.
  9. But there are rules as to how such pleas are allowed to be used in the courtroom. It is not as simple as common sense would dictate. I am familiar with a simplified version of the Federal Rules of Evidence so I will differ to a lawyer who is familiar with the rules of evidence in PR. A guilty plea hear does not necessarily mean a spam dunk for the civil case. (I’ll do a little more research)
  10. It most likely will not affect it much. As a part of the plea he is not admitting to any of the facts. I am not a lawyer, but to the best of my knowledge, a felony conviction can only be used to attack the credibility of the witness.
  11. My wife and I are both teachers so it is hard to make KSF deals work. We don't get out of school until the beginning of June and go back to school mid to late August. I'd love to take a cheaper cruise around this time of year...
  12. Obviously more cruises is better than fewer cruises, but I do really like a balcony room. If the upgrade is reasonable, I will do it every time. Not so much for the balcony but because the room itself is larger. Give me a balcony size inside room and it would be much harder to justify an upgrade to a balcony.
  13. Be careful, not all states issue them by default. Pennsylvania, for instance, has a separate process for the RealID card. You have to go out of your way to get it and only at certain locations. If you just renew, you only get the noncompliant card. (I am pretty sure in PA’s case it is an example of the state legislators saying “you can’t tell me what to do” to the federal government).
  14. It doesn't matter how you group the ages, you will never please everybody. If you do smaller groups people are mad that their kids can't be together and if you do larger groups people are mad that the range is too large. (I am not saying that anyone's concerns here are not legitimate just that it is impossible to meet everyone's expectations)
  15. Use an app to shrink the photos (the message boards don't show them at full size anyway) and the uploads will go quicker. I used an ios app called Batch Resize. Not saying it is the best but it worked well enough that I didn't look for another one.
  16. It is okay to keep mentioning the "other" ship. I think we all like to hear how they compare.
  17. ? I love it! I am a Star Trek straight, not nearly as fun.
  18. When they said that some activities were on South Beach, I think that that whole side of the island is South Beach and the Beach Club only takes up a part of it. Of course it is all up to interpretation because the maps are not clear.
  19. Airports in NYC JFK - The largest and located on the east side of the city. Jet Blue, American, and Delta have the largest presence there. It take about an hour by taxi or public transit to get to midtown. Newark - Still a large airport. United has by far the largest presence here. It takes about 30 min by taxi and about 40 min by public transit. This is also the closest airport to the cruise port which might be handy if you are heading straight to the airport after the cruise. LaGuardia - Is the closet to midtown but is a mess with construction right now. Delta and American are the biggest airlines here. 30 minutes by taxi and 50 minutes by public transit (the least convenient of the public transit options). All of the times will depend on time of day and traffic so take them with a grain of salt. I know a lot of people like Southwest; they fly out of LaGuardia but not in large numbers compared to the other airlines as well Long Island MacArthur Airport (about an hour and half east of the city)
  20. I agree but it will never happen. If they do that but the other cruise lines don't, then Royal's fares will look more expensive up front. Of course we know better but most people compare costs based on what is listed on the website, not the final bills.
  21. I believe that money was for a high-speed train between Orlando and Tampa. The governor did it because he thought the train was going to run huge deficits that Florida would have to pick up even though all of the studies said that the train would make money. Ridiculous.
  22. Same thing happened to me. They looked at me like I was crazy. We unfortunately were not able to talk our way into traditional. I am not a fan of MyTime Dining. We were seated at a two-top by ourselves every night. I like being seated with other people in traditional dining. I also felt like the waiters were much more rushed in MyTime. I am glad you got it worked out. Love Navigator!
