  1. The CocoCay cruises from Galveston and New Orleans have some ridiculous overpricing. These are not even Freedom Class ships that could semi-justify the expense... If I remember, Disney did same thing when it did a couple of sailings to Castaway Cay from Texas/Louisiana.
  2. Twangster, have you thrown in the towel on this claim due to bureaucracy or are you able to refile under different 'terms'?
  3. I've got someone on the next sailing getting me one... Thanks for the offer though... How bad was customs this morning? They were able to move our Key West stop to Tuesday last week so we did customs in New Orleans after Nassau... Paul
  4. Must have walked right past this store and not seen it... I checked in 700 Wines and Spirits across from Hilton and additional store across from pier area and they said supply had dried up and Cuba wasn't allowing any more off this island right now... Guess I'll have to wait to March 2020 to check in Cozumel...
  5. Was on her last week and wife talked me out of buying a shot glass... we already have that one she says... Back on land and discover we have Liberty and Freedom but no Vision.... If anyone is sailing on Vision of the Seas soon and could pick one up for me, I would pay you back for item, plus shipping, and time via PayPal... Shipping would be to Dallas, TX so USA member would be ideal... Similar style to item pictured below... think it was 7.95...
  6. There was a 15 year-old kid who was a history/geography whiz... He was his own team and scored 20/20 on a Middle East Map and 19/20 on Flags of the World...
  7. My wife loves that bread... Top item for her when we are on the boat...
  8. The British Colonial Hilton Nassau? Headed there in about 10 days and wanted to plan a walking route...
  9. We did a cruise out of Galveston in December 2017 that stopped at Progreso. We did an excursion thru RCL that included a stop at Mayapan Mayan Ruins for several hours and then swimming/tubing in a Cenote (Underground sinkhole/cave). Mayapan is called 'Little Chichen Itza' and was only 45-60m drive from the ship. You can climb on these ruins and the tour guides did a great job explaining significance of each building type and overall Mayan History. Wasn't crowded at all.. Might consider this as an alternative... (one day I'll finish my write-up on this cruise and post it...)
  10. I would recommend the Tequila Tasting/Guacamole Class that includes lunch... did it two years ago and was impressed.
  11. Looking at 3 Night Dining Package for $69/pp on an upcoming sailing.... Ship has Chops, Giovanni's, and Izumi (Non-Hibachi)... Essentially you are purchasing 'credits' to be redeemed... Yes, you get most bang for buck at Dinner, but can they also be redeemed at Lunch if restaurant is open? Probably looking at 2 Dinners and 1 Lunch...
  12. Looks like Pier B is still functioning and that is scheduled one for Vision of the Seas at this point... Glad we aren't scheduled for Outer Mole Pier... that looks like a trek...
  13. Sailing December 29 on Vision.. Key West is scheduled for January 3 for us... If it gets bumped I am going to be so mad... They already changed our Coco Cay stop to a day in Miami due to construction and double-booking with another ship...
  14. Sailing out of New Orleans for the first time next month on Vision of the Seas. (Done Galveston and Port Canaveral before...) Any tips on a parking garage? Not looking for one tied to a hotel... Thanks Paul
  15. Pig thing must be relatively new... There is a famous beach on another Bahamian Island where this has been a thing for a while...
  16. We had an excursion cancelled in St. Maarten last time we were there. Some sort of protest had shut down part (Eastern?) of French Side of Island... Ended up doing a Jeep Excursion on mainly the Dutch Side with stop in Marigot in Western French Side. Wasn't the beach day we had planned but ended up mostly enjoyable. I think worst part was not finding out about cancellation until we got off the ship and were meeting guide at the Pier. Was at the mercy of RC Staff for offerings... Needed to have back-up already in place just in case...
  17. Day 2 of Current Live blog has Matt and his wife eating Hot Rocks and Red Velvet Cake... I give up...
  18. So why update the online menus and remove items that are still being offered? (Red Velvet cake is supposedly gone but is listed as an option on recently released Chops Holiday Menus for Dec 24/25/31 dinners...)
  19. Have the Izumi Hot Rock Dishes been taken away fleet wide? Sailing on Vision in December and was hoping they might still be on smaller ships... Paul
  20. Found the following 'fine print' on RCCL Cruise Planner while researching upcoming cruise... [For Cover Charge Products], Children between the ages of 0-5 are complimentary and ages 6-12 are $10 per child; children must order from the kids menu. Please reserve product for all guests who wish to dine. Adult price will be applied for all guests regardless of age; the difference between the adult price and child price will be refunded in the form of a refundable onboard credit (unless booked with non-refundable credit, in which case OBC will be non-refundable).
  21. Found it... Episode 245 Email from Christine Around 48 minutes into podcast
  22. If I remember correctly it was the last letter read in an episode...
  23. We've always made reservations and paid $$$ on land via cruise planner for 3 adults- we are 2 adults and 1 child (now age 11). Specialty Places have always refunded difference for us... Don't people get concerned about seating capacity? You make a reservation for a 2-top table and show up with 2 adults and 2 kids, they might not be able to fit you in if place is booked solid...
  24. There was a brief letter read from a listener on a recent podcast episode that had this done for a family member. I cannot remember which one it was... sorry. When I heard it, I thought it would make a good topic for a Podcast for Matt. There are several youtube videos I've seen pertaining to this. I also recall several topics on this coming up on a Cruise Critic Google search...
