  1. We’re doing a 10 night Wildlife Express on Radiance next May. The land tour includes the glass domed train from Anchorage to Talkeetna. My question is: is that enough “train” (we also will likely do White Pass/Yukon train in Skagway) or is the train from Anchorage to Seward an absolute must do? The tour has you in a motor coach to the port. edited to add: I LOVED @twangsterblog on the train from Anchorage to Seward hence my question if it’s a must do.
  2. Looks like you need to find a quickie in a suite! That could lead to more children though. Children on vacation with you is pretty good birth control ?
  3. Where there’s a will, there’s a way! However a 7 night in a regular old balcony may be cheaper than 3 nights in a suite. Plus 7 nights is way better than 3, unless vacation time is an issue. So after I booked our 7 night on Harmony, (to get us to Diamond Plus), I said to my husband that I should see if it would be cheaper to upgrade to a JS on Odyssey for our Holy Land/Greece. That’s a 12 nighter and a suite would be nice for a long cruise. He voted no! He said he’d rather take ANOTHER cruise! I love that man!
  4. Interesting about high humidity but makes sense with an airborne virus. Dry air allows particles to move more freely whereas higher humidity makes the particles “heavy” and inhibits movement.
  5. How did you sleep at night? Did you prop a chair under the door handle?
  6. What deck and near what cabins so I can avoid! That’s just creepy as ?
  7. Feel good article! https://thepointsguy.com/news/celebrity-first-cruise-from-us-port/?utm_campaign=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_term=Editorial&utm_content=3F63F5AC-D6C4-11EB-BA7B-5CC0923C408C&fbclid=IwAR0wNH8DTp8fb7qulE9lqhMwLGLKMcQ5wxXDP_TJIr9nAqjAM45eycX3q2M
  8. Dang that double points promo being extended……had to book another. Hate it when that happens ? This one will get us to Diamond Plus. Had to do it. Sorry not sorry
  9. Now that they extended double points, I did just book another to get to Diamond Plus in one more cruise versus 2. We were newly Diamond at the start of the pandemic and had 3 booked. Now with 4 booked, we will be Plus. The 10 night Alaska in a JS is the one that makes the biggest difference. Of course it’s quite the dent in the wallet but memories can’t be repossessed ?
  10. It was either a 4 night on Mariner in a JS or a 7 night on Harmony. I’m an oasis class girl. ?
  11. Well I may or may not have just booked Harmony for March ‘22 ? YOLO I did have the husband blessing to do so. Ended up doing a Central Park balcony, you know to save some money. @SharlaI’ll transfer to you soon! Yippee! Now we will be Diamond Plus by the end of our Holy Land. Really wanted to get to Plus since we’ve got bucket list cruises in Europe and this will help.
  12. You and me both! I’ve got 3 bookings between October ‘21 to October ‘22 which now will award us 78 points. 14 shy of Diamond Plus. Lucky for us we live in Florida so I’m about to start perusing the cheapest 4 night in a JS or 7 day. Now when we go is another issue. I’m sure I can find some time to go!
  13. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2021/06/26/royal-caribbean-extends-double-point-offer-through-december-2022?fbclid=IwAR1wlL1XRkFWpaoLH7tO4xHQCRcaz6d4B_hvPr3OZqjQApkDehFSRSlBAa0
  14. Wow I’m surprised they booked it over half
  15. They have been planning for half capacity for over a year. I doubt any ship has been booked beyond half capacity
  16. Covid is never going away. You can continue to live in fear or grab life by the horns and go for it. I’m approaching 5 years cancer free from stage 4b endometrial cancer. I had a 15% chance of making it. I’m here and ready to cross off my bucket list cruises. I’m a firm believer that when it’s your time, it’s your time. I’ve stared down death. It wasn’t my time. Too bad more people don’t see life that way. No regrets baby! Hurry up October! Here I come Symphony!
  17. This is going to get reported for at least the next month or so and then hopefully will just not be interesting anymore. Bottom line: there are going to be cases. We’ve seen the protocols work exactly as planned for 2 cruises now. All the people freaking out (mostly on Facebook) really should just stay home. Those that are comfortable and believe in the protocols climb aboard.
  18. The only downside is that you can’t speak directly to Royal. However if you have a great TA (like @Sharla) that’s not an issue. She’s lightening fast! I used to book through RC. I went the TA route when we were looking at booking odyssey for Italy/Greece. With hotels, flights etc., I didn’t want to mess with it plus I wanted someone in my corner if something happened pre-cruise, cruise, post-cruise etc. We booked a 3 night on Mariner to test her out (?) and haven’t looked back. The major upside to having a good TA-all this cancellation/FCC/OBC Covid garbage was handled so professionally. Last, you’re supporting a business, someone’s livelihood. It doesn’t cost you anything for their service and the benefits are numerous.
  19. It’s been out for 2 weeks as @CGTLHposted. @WAAAYTOOO I don’t know how they’ll get around the CSO unless they somehow know they’ll hit that 95% mark. I think Royal put out that even with kids, they’ll still come in around 90%. Guess we’ll all find out tomorrow!
  20. This is nothing new. Same as Royal. If you choose to show your proof of vaccination you’ll have one set of protocols. If you choose not to show proof or are not fully vaccinated, you’ll have to pay for additional testing, wear masks indoors and may be excluded from certain areas.
  21. Mine has been applied twice now. This last time it didn’t show up for weeks. I went through Facebook messenger and it was there in a few hours.
  22. Marc Walker “Bing Bong” Sorry that’s the CD. I apparently can’t read
