  1. My wife and I were on Harmony about a month ago. We purchased the WOW Bands ($5 each). We loved opening our Stateroom door with them instead of fumbling for the sea pass card. Our muster drill location was the Aqua Theater and they scanned our Wow Bands to check us in. We made advance reservations for the evening shows, and if you arrive on time, they have people with tablets that will scan the WOW Bands. You still need to take your Sea pass Cards (each person) when you get off the ship in port. We only had the soda drink package, so can't help you with any details about WOW Bands and drinks. I ask this question before our Harmony sailing, and Matt was kind enough to share this with me: Go to Boleros on the Royal Promenade to purchase your WOW Bands as soon as you get on Harmony. Quick and easy. We felt it was well worth the $5 each. By the way, save them and RC will re-program them on the next cruise (assuming the ship has the technology). Have a great Cruise! Wish I was going with you...
  2. We just had a similar situation - Booked Harmony for Feb 2020 and nothing available but MTD. Not to worry, Its not the end of the discussion. I called Royal Caribbean's 800 number a couple of times a few days apart, and the 3rd time I got an agent that said, wait a minute, let me see if I can get that opened up for you. Came back on the line a couple of minutes later and said I got it for you! I suspect you should call a few times, making your case. Be specific about what you want, and maybe an agent will go the extra mile and help you. It worked for me. By the way, I always ask RC's agent to send me an updated copy of the "Cruise Vacation Receipt" because it will show the updates.
  3. Been on Oasis twice. Went to Cats twice. Fell asleep twice.... Enough....
  4. Sailing on Harmony 2/17. If we want WOW Bands, where do we get them? I did not see anything about the WOW Bands in Cruise Planner.
  5. This will be our 3rd cruise, and for the 2 previous cruises, and in the old web site, there was a place to go ahead and complete the activity waivers for each person. This is our first cruise using the new web site, and I don't see any place to complete the activity waivers. Did they remove that functionality in the new web site, or am I just missing it? Thanks
  6. Following on Matt's instructions, It has been my experience that once my phone is in airplane mode, and I have connected to the ship's wifi, then am able to do wifi calling/text/internet. My carrier allows it, but all carriers may not. Best to check with your carrier to see if you have wifi calling.
  7. So, you have about 3 weeks. You can file for "expedited" passport handling for an extra fee. I suggest you go this route, but if you do, better hop on it today. If you have the correct documentation to submit with your passport application, and pay for expedited handling, you can get it in well under 2 weeks.
  8. It has been mentioned, but don't overlook the MDR (Main Dining Room). Its "Included" (not free, cause you paid for it in your cruise price). You probably selected a dining time preference (My Time Dining- flexible, or Fixed time, as in 5:30pm or 8:30pm). Note - if you have "My Time dining", you will need to make dinner reservations for the MDR. The MDR is open for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner (sometimes it is closed for lunch on port days). Breakfast and Lunch in the MDR are casual dress (no swim suites, but shorts are fine) and Dinner is just a bit less casual (long pants for men, but they won't throw you out for under dressing). Breakfast and Lunch have a nice buffet (smaller, not like WindJammer), or you can order off the menu. For Dinner in the MDR it is a cloth napkin, order from the menu, table service kind of experience. You and the family should give it a try. We like the atmosphere in the MDR, and the wait staff will cater to the children. Order 2 entre's or extra deserts, its "Included". NOTE - for the 7 day cruise, there will be 2 formal nights. But "Formal" isn't really formal in the old sense. You will see a few men in sport coats and ladies in dresses, but you hardly ever see many suites any more. You will be fine with Kaki pants and a shirt, the old "Business Casual" will work fine. The Windjammer Cafe (Huge Buffet) that has been mentioned is "Included" (no extra fee). It has a great variety of food served on several buffet islands (massive amount of food). There are actually 2 of them, one of either side of the elevators close to the top of the ship. Great views! You and the family should try it, and decide if you like the MDR or Winjammer better. Find the several "neighborhoods" on the Oasis. The Promanade neighborhod is where you will find the "Included" pizza. As much as you (or the kids) want! Also Promanade Cafe is "Included", so have an "Included" dessert with great coffee (no fufu, just good coffee). There is a starbucks there as well - "NOT Included". The Central Park neighborhood is where you will find the "Included" Park Cafe, have one (or 5) if their roast beef sandwiches with a fresh made salad, and/or ready made side dishes, all "Included". To Die For! Keep looking during the cruise. You will stumble on other "Included" dining experiences. The daily Cruise Compass, which is delivered each evening to your room, will itemize all of the dining opportunities. What you have probably been looking at on RCI's website is the Cruise Planner where they are trying to sell you "Specialty Dining" packages. There are a number of these "upcharge" restaurants that are "NOT Included" in your cruise price. They have a reputation for great food, but we have never even darkened the door of one of these. Its up to you if you want to pay extra. For my family, the "Included" food is very good. As for the drink packages, to each his own. My wife and I don't purchase the alcohol drink package. It would not be cost effective for us. One time we purchased the upgraded non-alcohol package that included upgraded coffees, juices, etc. What we found is that we didn't use it enough to justify the cost. We had "Included" juice with our breakfast (MDR and WindJammer), and I just used the "Included" coffee at the Promanade Cafe. We do buy the basic drink package, which get's you a souvenir insulated cup that you can refill at the Coke Drink Stations (one price gets you Unlimited Refills all week). They have the usual Coke products, PowerAid drinks (sugar free as well) and lots of others. There are Coke Drink Stations in the Promanade Neighborhood, and at the WindJammer, and and other locations. We like to have bottled water in the room. You can of course tote you own case of water, or purchase one in the Cruise Planner and they will deliver it to your room. Hope your family has a wonderful time on the Oasis!
  9. On the Oasis in February 2017 they showed an afternoon movie (more children oriented), and then an evening movie. Was very nice on the stern, at the Aqua Theatre. 2 big screens on either side of the Aqua Theatre,
  10. We went on the Oasis in February of this year. Had a great time! I suggest you go online and reserve the shows prior to sailing. Our experience was that we arrived at the show about 30 minutes ahead of showtime and especially for those shows expected to be packed, there were "ushers" to scan your seapass card and they actually turned away people that did not have advance reservations until 15 minutes before showtime. Reserve prior to sailing!
