brianmorris got a reaction from ChessE4 in How to use royal Caribbean gift card ?
I had a few that I received from work - both paper copies and e-certificates. I believe mine said on them that they could only be used on cruise fares. I had to either call a number to book a new cruise or it gave me an email to send the information to to apply the credit to an already booked cruise which is what I did.
It took about 2 weeks for it to show up on the booking and get a response so if you do it the same way, just make sure you are out far enough from the final payment date.
Not the most convenient things to use but definitely did the trick.

Grease on Independence is a production show. However, I did learn from the backstage tour that it was changed and abbreviated slightly with the approval of the Broadway producers to allow for a shorter runtime on the ship that wouldn’t require an intermission.

I use the CruiseMapper app too. Especially the live maps feature - if I am on a cruise and see another ship on the horizon and want to be able to identify the ship and know where it is going / coming from.

The link to check-in is usually right below the names on this screen. I know a few of the features on the app vary by ship so it may be possible that Brilliance doesn’t offer app check-in yet? Not sure.

You should still be able to check-in online.

Great news !!!!  They awarded us C&A points for the entire 8 day Anthem cruise even though it was shortened to 5 days !!  16 points for us since we were in a suite.  Only 190 to Pinnacle !!!!

Update from the field: Mr SpeedNoodles has already declared the Oasis Class his "favorite class of ships". We've only seen the pool deck and Deck 4 so far.

I try to book the cruise as soon as the itinerary is announced, especially if it's anything exotic or that I suspect will be really popular; all but certain the cruise fare will only go up with those. I deal with the flights later on if / as needed.

Yes! It’s on my bucket list so I’m searching pretty regularly.
An easy way to find them is to “search by port” on the RC website. For instance, here is a link to the page on Labadee (https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-to/labadee-haiti) that shows all of the itineraries to Labadee and you can scan through and see there are a couple of “& Perfect Day” cruises which also stop at CocoCay.

Well that's better than nothing and something that RC didn't have to do.
I feel that's always going to be the dilemma with booking cruises. You always have to balance what you are willing to spend and how early you are wanting to book vs. waiting for a better price and potentially not getting the cabin category or cabin location you want.
After the 90 days, all bets are off as RC is going to try and move any unsold cabins at any cost.

Update.  My travel agent called this morning to advise that they had moved up the chain of RCL management and secured a $300 OBC and bottle of wine.  No where near meeting the difference in price however still appreciated.  Love the Jr Suite on the aft of the ship and look forward to the cruise.

Last summer we did a B2B on NAV over the 4th of July holiday.  I found these 2 cruises to be particularly pricey on a per person/per day basis.  I would probably NOT do it again but rather choose a different ship that was doing a regular 7 night itin.  Don't get me wrong.  The amplification on NAV was incredible.  The best I have seen for any ship in the fleet...but I think for a 7 night cruise, you can do better on a different ship, price-wise.

If airfare is going to be a deal breaker for you, be sure you book a refundable cruise fare so that you can change your plans if airfare is outside of your budget.

I book the cruise ASAP, then I mock book flights using comparable months (travel seasons), if possible. For Southwest, I book ASAP. For nonsouthwest, I watch and wait (unless it is a long flight and I care about our seat choices). I also use the Hopper app, which tracks flight costs. Useful app.

I was on ALLURE back in November 2019, so I can't wait to see the differences with OASIS!

    Portside BBQ and Playmakers especially!

@brianmorris... this was also in the thread...
I find this odd. Our experience with this on Freedom was completely the opposite. Each group/couple had all of the ingredients in separate containers on the table while the server/instructor gave tips on how to utilize the different ingredients to suit our tastes.
He also tutored us on making some superb Margaritas and print outs of the guacamole and margarita recipes were provided after the included lunch.
All in all, it was a very good experience.

@berkeleykel, thank you so much for taking the time to provide that video, sadly that would drive me bonkers. I was under the pool deck once and swore I would never do it again. You have provided great clarity, I'm going to go with the balcony on a lower floor. It seems with this terrible scare cabins are popping up a lot these last few days. Happy future sailings!

The junior suites with the higher numbers (8050 and above) are under the indoor pool and spa so hopefully would be quieter, we hope so as we're in one of them in a little over a week ☺️

    50 days to go!
I've enjoyed reading all the build up to past Star Class Cruise blogs and live info that I decided I would try and do one too...    It is almost 2 years ago I booked this trip, beyond excited!!
As in the title its a 50th Birthday (mine), we  booked a Grand Loft suite on the Ovation along with my husband JJ, daughter SJ and her friend.
On this trip we have approx 20 friends joining us in various rooms, one other couple in Star Class, a few in Suites.
We leave on Easter Saturday, 11th April from Sydney and staying at The Hilton the night before, we live in Sydney as most of our other friend do...  Our other Star Class friends are flying in from Scotland.  (24 hrs away)!
It is a 9 night Cruise with ports of call at Noumea,  Mystery Island Vanuatu and Brisbane.
We received our Genie questionnaire earlier this week and just about to fill in and send off....  More to follow!

I wish I lived closer to a port for this reason. The 3 nights are a little harder with a full day road trip or flight to work out. Maybe one day!
