  1. Have you checked for your purchases in the Cruise Planner? Click on your initials in upper right corner while in Cruise Planner, and look at your Order History. I had my CC notify me that a sale went thru and RCI told me it failed. I later got an email from RCI for the purchase. When I looked at Order History, it was there! So the order did go thru. It is possible the same happened to you, which could explain it not going thru now.
  2. I'm glad to report that I can get in the cruise planner, and this purchase that RCI said failed, then sent an email showing the purchase, is listed in my purchases. That gives me hope that all of yours will work properly too. Crossing my fingers for all....
  3. Unfortunately the pricing is dynamic, so one cruise will have one price, and another be a totally different price. I've seen people excited that CocoCay Beach Club was $120ish today, while ours was $88.99, and I've seen the low price of $79.99 for yet another cruise. I can't even try to figure that out.
  4. Its been down most of the morning. There are threads here about it. This one starts off about the deals, then the live reports of problems with the site:
  5. I just bought the bottled water package thru the app, and it was discounted 50%, so the Black Friday pricing was available. Of course, the app told me that it didn't go through, but AMEX said it did, and I got an email from RCI. I love the consistency. Is your app updated? If so, try hard-closing, or logging out, and back in. See if that changes things. If not, you may have to wait.
  6. I hope not. That would suck. Especially for those who saw the original Black Friday pricing, but couldn't book.
  7. Cross your fingers. Maybe they are rebooting the servers. I know they want to sell, sell, sell as much as anyone here wants to buy, buy, buy.
  8. Same here, 5:30 am. I just would like to go back and get the bottled water @ 50% off. Now I can't even see my cruises. Our IT dept has challenges too due to the competition for labor these days, but this makes our team look stellar!
  9. Not to argue the point, but these shows were announced way before Odyssey ever started sailing. Other than We Will Rock You on Anthem (which is similar to a Broadway show), only the Oasis class has Broadway style shows. Also, repositioning cruises are notorious for delays at disembarkation. They are usually disorganized as well, since it's the first cruise of the season for those particular ships at those ports. And everyone is at the mercy of landside contractors, who have their own issues usually. Sorry you had a bad experience.
  10. On our cruise, found that surf/stream was cheaper by selecting one device each instead of getting two devices in one name, was slightly cheaper each getting a device. YMMV CocoCay Beach Club finally dropped to 50% off….a real 50% off, on our Harmony sailing.
  11. I schedule shows that take reservations, and specialty dining we really want. Tours that we desire. We are casual about everything else, may even change plans at last minute.
  12. We are going to wait for the mad rush to book is over with, maybe even a year or so later. We are planning a TA for spring 2024 and a back-to-back in later 2024....but neither will be on Icon. Lots of choices out there these days, with so many newish RCI ships.
  13. Unless I’ve completely missed out, a sail away party is wherever you join in these days. I know in the past there were events that were on the app or Compass, but we’ve always enjoyed meeting up with others from roll calls.
  14. We just had this experience today. Voyager, May 6, 2023, cancelled to move to TX. We were given the choice of 3 different weeks on Harmony, price-protected, and a $200 shipboard credit. This was an $1100 savings over the current price of a JS on Harmony so we are content. The only down side is sailing from Miami instead of FLL. Other choices were to rebook another sailing, no shipboard credit; or refund, no shipboard credit.
  15. I’ve already signed up for this on our December cruise. We are tidy, and once a day cleaning is good for us. We won’t tip differently, because even though they are not scrubbing the bathroom a second time, we don’t need a second scrubbing. They will turn down bed, check ice bucket, empty garbage. I also like how you can earn points with Celebrity without taking a cruise. It’s only 1 at a time, once per month, but it gives me a head start in getting those points with them.
  16. This. I don’t see it as pressuring, just a courtesy for those who want to tip additionally. It is not there specifically for the steward, but anyone we would like to tip on top of prepaid tips. We have always had an envelope or two provided.
  17. Just ordered some from Amazon today. $89 for a 4 pack, while Apple has the 4 pack for $99. I have friends who highly recommend.

  19. I know that perceptions can be very wrong, and maybe some of it was that. Or some people can feel slighted once, then everything turns into a slight. However, after NOTHING but a post filled with complaints, you lost all credibility with the “I am not one to complain”. If you ever return, I’m sorry you had a bad cruise.
  20. Not surprised. It’s summer. We sailed once in summer. It was a one-and-done for us.
  21. We have had both soft and hard luggage damaged by the airlines. We are currently using soft luggage.
