  4. I’ve had nothing but issues with my crown and anchor account and they can’t seem to get it permanently fixed. Meaning they “fix it” and then a similar issue happens again. I sailed with 2 cousins in May last year. Diane in my cabin, another Patty in the other. Somehow they put Patty onto my crown and anchor info. By that I mean Name!! DOB, email address, phone number and her address. since that May sailing I have been emailed as “gold” status on my cruises, my casino level changed down, and I straightened that out fairly quickly both onboard and by phone to C&A-my name is back but HER address, email and phone number and DOB…continuously reappear on my account. I am sailing Icon this week and she is sailing Independence 2 days later. Last week I received an icon email addressed to me and another to my husband. (Why am I receiving his emails?) This week zilch for my cruise but meanwhile I literally have FIVE emails for the cousin for her Independence sailing. FIVE!!! I’ve sailed in February and March and have not received my surveys despite having received my welcome board emails for those cruises. a called a few days ago about missing cruise points and they said I had 3 cruises in a duplicate account. But there’s no new C&A # associated. 2 of those cruises were properly credited to me, the third was not-but they shared I was on it. Allegedly getting my points added is under review. They also had an address on that duplicate account-that I’ve not lived at in 30 years!! How in the world does this happen??? Now I call today and my email is associated with the cousin. funny though as it wasn’t 5 days ago when I spoke with C&A. Her latest email in my inbox mentioned my last name!!! “Welcome “x” family”. I thought the “Patricia” they were emailing was her, but clearly it’s me!! Ugh! Now here’s the “best part” she is now showing as a pinnacle-with MY POINTS!! Good for her making pinnacle after one cruise! I told her to enjoy the benefits! ‘Seriously though. This is getting super annoying. has anyone been successful getting their account fixed permanently?

  5. First for me. Went to the “new” non-smoking casino (previously Vintages) to cash out OBC. Played a couple of time and actually won a few hundred. Cashed out immediately and now having a celebration cocktail with @GatorCruiser@ Boleros.

  12. I don't do it as a regular thing, literally just for friends and family but it's been going pretty well In the 6 or so months I've done it. If anything, just having access to the TA sites for all of the cruise lines is pretty cool.

  13. I went back to the reddit thread and reported that no one else seems to know about these cancellations, and he doubled down on the fact that the phone reps told him this. SO when I went back today with a screenshot from Cruisemapper of @WAAAYTOOO and explorer docked there, he had deleted the thread. Glad to see they are still stopping there, I do some TA stuff on the side and booked my cousin on a cruise heading there in August and it's probably the port they want to see most of the three!

  23. Ahh, so it's not just me After our cruise last week our youngest kid has 54 points, but his status is gold. Go into his account, literally below where it's says he's gold it says he has 54 points. As somebody who writes backend systems, kind of mind boggling how bad royal's IT is

  24. No one really knows and this was my first GTY in a long time, but FWIW, everyone in the FB group for my 4/20 Wonder waiting on a GTY (many different cabin types from interior to suite and everything in between) all got their assignments (mine included) 31 days out.

  27. Definitely not... I post that same sentiment all the time. @GatorCruiser knows mostly why I enjoy cruising and he knows it's not for the view. I think I may have posted a sunset picture from our MDR window table once though.

  34. new bezos purchases for the cause -- er, cruise: valet tray i like this to drop my bracelets in on the vanity and also a place to keep my seapass card, sleep gummies mini bag, and various other items scatted across the desk. mini tripod i have often wanted one of these because i take timelapse videos of departing ships. i am the dingus that stands there for a minutes at a time and tries to hold still i'll let you know if it works haha towel bands so you all know that i am team towel clips (not bands) BUT the wind lately has been unbearable. i'm thinking i might be team combo clips + bands. grabbed these although they are avail in a variety of kinds. coola recovery lotion yours truly somehow FRIED herself on the beach in a mere few hours yesterday and have been applying this to take the sting out ever since. i will swear by this until the end of time. we are currently in nassau and i am SO ready to get home and sleep in my own bed. the whole week, i kept thinking, i wish i was on a cruise... also i probably should let you guys live and start a travel blog rather than resurrect former threads, but here we are...

  35. FINALLY getting out of dry dock. ...i shouldn't complain; there are so many here who have been in drydock much longer than us check-in finally opened today for our cruise -- the MSC site is a MESS. it took forever to check-in and i had to abort mission on my phone and use desktop to get through the process. they did allow for cruise documents to be downloaded immediately but they seem to be missing some information (like luggage tags), so i anticipate we will have to re-download again soon. i have been hearing rumblings that MSC does not allow plastic luggage tags, so stay tuned on that, but at least we are 30 days within cruise time!!!!!! i'm ready to be on a cruise NOW also, sad fact - this is a family trip, and while i did invite J last minute, she had to decline as she has other travel without me on the docket to attend to. so you guys are stuck with me, and me alone i shall strive to be informative and entertaining.

  36. There's no wrong answer for why we cruise. Not that you were suggesting that of course

  37. You gave me a good idea and checked our cruise, and there are about 9 Junior suites left and I believe only one was connecting left. Really would like to avoid a connecting room!

  38. I don't use that word, lol. The only reason I don't find them fun is I want them assigned ASAP so I can switch what I get. Back in the day when I always booked GTY's before every cruise was 100%+ full I always had plenty of options. This time I sat there watching as the 30-40 available of each type of neighborhood balcony turned into single digits by the time we got to 40 days out or so. Luckily one of the few CP's left was in almost my wife's first choice spot. We would have been fine anywhere but we were originally given a connecting balcony and, all things being equal, I'd rather not hope my neighbors aren't excessively loud. My wife wanted to be close to where the musicians set up so that's where we are. I didn't really care other than not wanting deck 14. We normally choose deck 10 and we're on 11 this time so close enough. I'm happy where we are... and it's back to our chosen interior after this.

  39. While I can't wait to see what suite GTY they give us for sept the suspense is kinda fun. Does that make me weird? I think this only our second GTY. Oh and the first one was a very pleasant surprise, Oasis in an Ocean view balcony in a great location.

  41. Your drawbacks are the reasons I prefer Labadee. And also that it is usually much warmer at Labadee than Cococay

  42. THIS is what I was looking for... thank you. I have no idea where they got this info, seemed like one of those "Royal shouldn't be there so I'll spread rumors" kind of post

    Skipping Labadee again?

I'm the opposite. Labadee does not appeal to me or the family. It lacks the amenities that are offered at Coco Cay and the ones planned in Nassau at the Royal Beach Club, Perfect Day Mexico at Costa Maya, and the Royal Beach Club at Cozumel. In my opinion, the biggest drawback for is Labadee's lack of a dedicated adult area, pools, and WIFI.

  44. Completely agree. I always call and still have had issues with the booking. I remain on the call until I have received and reviewed the invoice to confirm the details of the booking.

  46. He's not the only one, lol. Glad the kids enjoyed it though. We did active stuff in Alaska b/c it's Alaska. The most active I get in the Caribbean is the walk to get a taxi in Cozumel to go to a beach club or the walk down the road in St. Martin to the dock where our favorite speed boat & snorkel tour leaves from or the walk to our favorite spot on CocoCay. Oddly, all those walks end in me mostly sitting around eating and drinking. Weird.

  47. Similar situation for us. My wife doesn't sleep in but also doesn't drink coffee so I'm the one who makes the early morning CL run (I do usually bring her back a croissant if the food is out). It's not the main reason but we're usually above the CL on Oasis class and I do appreciate that. I get my steps in taking the stairs during the rest of the cruise... early AM is the one time I can enjoy empty elevators. We're waiting for a neighborhood balcony GTY in 31 days (first one ever and we haven't had a GTY in quite a while). We're rooting for Central Park for multiple reasons. If we get far aft Boardwalk I'm gonna have an awfully long walk each morning. EDIT/UPDATE: Crisis (long walk) averted, we were assigned CP and switched to a cabin we're very happy with.

  49. We stopped in Miami today on our 8N Odyssey cruise it’s not a Caribbean excursion but thought I would mention it if you like art/graffiti. We did it on our own..Beautiful day to walk around it was a 10 min Uber ride from the port. If you want you can participate in spray painting… Also found an amazing Cuban coffee place nearby..
