They closed my office today and tomorrow because of it. A bit of FOMO for me because snow in my parts is a BIG DEAL, but it's earned me 2 extra free vacation days and I'm sitting on a cruise ship in shorts so I can't complain too much.

Day 10(day 3 and a sea day) Good morning. It is humid. My brother left the balcony door cracked while we slept and I woke up in a sauna. He is getting ready for the gym. I am catching up on a few emails. We have Izumi for lunch today. So no breakfast. I forgot to mention. I put mine and my brother's name in the smoke free raffle where 10 winners win $100 in freeplay. I had a feeling one of us would win. But after playing and checking my card. I knew it was my brother. Sure enough the $100 was there. Which I was able to turn into $167. ......and that was used to get him the 300pts left to make him prime for the next year.

My mother asked for Indian food for us despite her not particularly liking it and her onion intolerance. Waaay too much food for 3 people, of course...but it was great. The butler handles all the food orders and room service delivery..it's a little different from the Genie service on Star Class. Our butler's name is Manoj and I think he's from Romania? He stayed and chatted with us for a little bit. He's been with Celebrity since a little bit before the pandemic. I think he said he was trying to be part of the Royal Genie program but got offered a position with Celebrity. I wasn't paying as much attention to the conversation from my Indian food coma.

i resemble this remark! yes and i was up in arms because i had a vague idea of what i wanted to wear but nothing concrete. happy to report i’ve knocked that out — just tried on all my outfits for the week - i am not kidding when i say i will legit be in sequins tuesday through thursday I LIVE FOR A CASUAL SEQUIN!!!!!!!!!! fun fact: the sequin widelegs i am wearing tomorrow to work were planned for the ascent cruise as they did not make the cut for symph last month and i will see how it goes as we’re going to a novelty bowling alley after work for team building. actual conversation between my BFF and i… best friend: i really don’t think we should be bowling in sequin wide leg pants me: i mean maybe not, but if there was anyone bold enough to rise to this challenge….. it would be ME. also me: the bowling is like a novelty; i don’t know that anyone is actually going to bowl. bff: god help us so if nothing else, i will be appropriately outfitted in a way that is indicative of my mood

I don't know when this became a thing but we got slippers. Plus a Chef's amenity but for suites as the one from C&A always has a little note. My brother said the stateroom attendant let herself in again. He was trying to get dressed and she didn't knock. He said he tried to close the door but she tried to come in and look around. He told her to knock hard at least 3x before coming in. If she doesn't listen we might have to go to guest services. Currently sitting at the casino bar. The drink of the day is now $8.50 and the bartender says there is a possibility that one bar per ship will gave happy hour. It's being tested. I must say, while all the bartenders I've met have more vintage on Oasis, they are much faster than the ones on Symphony. We are keeping the 7pm reservation at CK. This menu is the least appealing to me as I'm allergic to veal and a good chunk of the offerings are veal based.......but the MDR menu is worse. On the way to the casino we passed by Izumi.......the trail of rascals/scooters was long.

Agreed. That was a nice little touch they did for suite guests on Oasis class that I miss that never came back after the pandemic. Cheers!

Oh I forgot about the shoes!! My 3 pairs of flip flops take up a lot of room! Then that darn hubby wants to take a pair too

I want to add I had a gty for my sailing before this one and I got an email with my room number when it was assigned. I believe they cracked down on the barcode hack. So now they alert you when it is assigned which was around 30 days before I sailed.

We had Izumi for lunch. I would have to agree with @WAAAYTOOO. Izumi is the only restaurant across the fleet that is consistently great. I got the firecracker shrimp as an app instead of my usual chicken kaarage. Since I don't actually eat sushi, I always get the beef teriyaki and chicken udon. My brother always finishes the udon. He got the Chef's selection and sashimi. It was packed. We were sat next to an Italian family we have seen in the elevator a couple of times. They don't speak English and they don't watch their children. Both times they knocked into a vintage, spilling a drink. This time they tried to run amok. The younger daughter was maybe 3, she cracked a plate banging on it with the chopsticks. They had to be walked around the restaurant several times before their food came. Our poor server was the only one working and she must have had 8 tables at once. She apologized profusely and mentioned the survey briefly. It was a bit of a longer wait but everything arrived hot, so it wasn't a big deal. A couple of people left without waiting for their zero check. I ordered a Japanese strawberry and it was the worst I ever tasted. So I sent it back. After lunch we walked through the casino, then the boardwalk on our way to CP. The boardwalk had a family fun day. Lots of tiny humans hopped up on sugar. CP was crowded so we got dessert, cc and ranger cookies, and Ruffles. Then went back to the room and sat on the balcony. We are going 20 knots and the water shows it. Someone had an inflatable duck on their CP balcony.

This is as close as we are getting to San Juan. We are docked on the other side of the damaged pier. We checked out the Retreat Sun Deck, my mother clutching her sun hat for dear life with the wind. No pools, hot tub or bar up here. They do lunch and drink service from 11:30‐2:30 up there. We were followed around by a poor attendant with towels while we checked it out. I assured her we weren't staying but she kept offering to put down towels on some loungers for us.

We took advantage of another room perk and had our butler deliver dinner last night.

Plus Florida shenanigans.

3 DAYS TO GO!!!!!! I actually packed up a majority of my stuff last night, now I just have the nicer stuff that I don't want to get wrinkled and things I'm still using to do on Wednesday/Thursday. All the emails have started coming in, so the excitement is definitely building. Now it's just a game of What Have I Forgotten? So far it is water bottle, liquid detergent, and yoga mat...

My brother says because I'm always in the casino I never notice but the water is always off at PDCC. They use this time to do maintenance .

We stopped in a pearl jeweler. N̈ot my cup of tea but for other folks I am sure it was great. And my Wife won a pearl. A hundred more and we would have a necklace.

I noticed this also when we sailed Apex in 2023, people on Celebrity don't tip. It feels weird to drop a few dollar bills when getting drinks. No one is doing it anywhere. When we eat at the specialty restaurants as included with the Royal Suite, we don't have to sign a bill before leaving. Star Class on Royal you still get that $0 bill. I haven't seen the prevalent use of lanyards. I still wear mine because it's the easiest way for me not to lose my card..it also advertises the blog. There are a lot more inside lounge spaces to sit and watch the ocean. The focus isn't on the pool deck. Outside of the pool deck I haven't seen any bathing suits at all. Celebrity is growing on me. I like the new variety. There's so many different drinks and food items to try. The casino is smoke-free which I appreciate. Once I can get free internet and the drink package (Pinnacle transfers over to Zenith and gets these perks) it will come down to price and itinerary for me in chosing which line I would sail.

We ordered a lot of stuff. This place is ala carte and before dessert it was probably $120 worth of stuff we had ordered...oops. It's included with the Royal Suite. Izumi prix fixe can stuff it. Kobe Beef Ramen Slider Chicken Ginger Gyoza - my mom got these special made with no onion or garlic Truffled Albacore Tuna Scallop & Shrimp Dynamite Omakase Sashimi - the cuts are very thin as opposed to what you get at Izumi..I think it brings out the flavor of the raw fish more though. Spicy Tuna & Shrimp Tempura Roll Tekkamaki

I guess I don't really remember my last top tier event but it was only 20min. The highest pin had close to 2700pts. The lady who cut in front of us in CK made 1400pts and she made sure they not only took a photo but some with her phone as well. After I left I went to look at the promenade. I'm in the casino people watching because I refuse to give it any more money.

It's a small list, but these are the available free interior cabin sailings available on the instant certificate in the casino for earning 1200pts. You have to put down a $200 Future Cruise deposit to take advantage of the free cabin offer and it's subject to availability but I was still surprised to see any. The list gets larger as you earn more points.

@Sweety It is twice a year at 2-3 wks until I can retire. Then I will probably do a month on. A month off. ......maybe I might even move to Florida.

Same, both times we sailed Oasis the water was always really hot and we had to almost turn it allll the way down just to get it warm. But @Ampurp85 I have read a few posts over on Zuckerbook that seem to indicate water issues the past few sailings on Oasis, so hopefully it's not as bad for the rest of your week.

Someone take lots photos of the beautiful Allure before we get all of the ugly slides! Those will be the last we ever see of the original Oasis-class ships! I still wish Royal kept Allure as the only non-amplified Oasis-class. My bucket list is to sail on Oasis and Allure before they inevitably retire from service.

We watched Laura Wright yesterday in the Royal Theatre. Unfortunately I took no photos, but she was extremely good and put on a great show. And tonight we watched the Ice Show. It was great as always. Sorry .VOOM is really fighting me and will not allow photos tonight.

We had a laugh with Jose, my brother said he could eat but two reservations was one too many. We will stick with 7pm. This menu was rough because I couldn't really find anything too appealing with the exception of the burratta app. Even my brother struggled. We got the same app. I got the chicken breast from the classic and my brother got the pollack. Neither of us got dessert. We did have a lovely conversation with the couple next to us. They were escaping Michigan weather. We probably would have been done eating in less that 30min but we chatted with them and was done around 8:30. We then went to the WJ for dessert, nothing good, and I ended up with fruit. While my brother loaded a potato up. We have one sky at 10:45.......I don't think we will make it. I called CR and booked my certificate which will have us on a B2B2B Oasis sailing in September. So we can miss any of the shows as we will be able to see them then. Stray observations. This ship needs what they call a mommy makeover. Everything looks old, worn, and dated. Going back to touching everything sucks. Plus people are filthy animals. The WJ washy-washy person is tired. Many people don't wash hands, even in bathrooms. While waiting for the elevator to dinner, a woman came out of the MDR with a dirty diaper and a stain on her dress . That means she changed the baby in the dinning room. Lots of children on here, running up and down the halls, stairs, and pressing all the elevator buttons. Unlike captain Johnny on Symphony, this one makes no announcements.

I checked in on my fur baby and it was below zero in Chicago. It was only 70s here at PDCC but still better than the cold in the Midwest and north.

Then there was dessert. There were 3 of us so we ordered three. The Wasabi gelato was interesting..it wasn't bad, just odd like a vanilla ice cream that clears your sinuses. Sorbet Matchamisu Carmelized Gingerbread - more like cake with a very light ginger flavor..the sesame crisp was yummy (Wasabi gelato on the side) I think we agreed the yuzu sorbet was the winner.

I started with the Agave Sunrise and was warned it was spicy. It was a pleasant spicy. Reminds me of my favorite jalapeño pineapple margarita on Royal.

Funny....b/c we had pretty much the opposite. We had ONLY hot (or warm) water. I constantly had to try and turn the temperature regulator ALL the way to the "cold" side in the shower or I felt like I was gonna get scalded. Even the water in the sink was warmish...nothing like brushing your teeth with warm water. UGH.
