  1. If you by measures and restriction you mean masks (we wear them so often now we don't even notice it), less crowds, more open areas and more staff per patron I'm all in. Let the "I'm not going until I can wave my freak flag when ever and where ever" stay home and I and my spouse will enjoy ourselves. We have four cruises booked throughout 2021 and I'm in-line for the vaccine as soon as it is available which will be soon here for my group in Texas. Will have our card and passports stamped "COVID-19 Inoculated" so we can enjoy life, the beach and other ports of call. Watch out 2021, here I come! ??️?️

  2. We signed our pool contract last week. In Northern Virginia it takes about 8 months. Right now the survey from the county is taking almost3 months because there are so many people putting in pools. That and due to covid they have less workers actually in the office (distancing). If all goes well for us we might have it by August.

  4. They started our pool at our new house in November. All inspections completed from the frame, now waiting or the weather to cooperate so they can do the concrete. I had a pool at my other house and missed it when we moved back in MAY. Cannot wait for it to be complete!

  6. Just had this come up in my recommendations, as I've been watching a number of Gary Bembridge's "Tips for Travelers" videos lately. He's being practical in his outlook, and actually echoing a fair number of points that @twangster has raised over the last couple of weeks / months. Watch and judge for yourself, but he's definitely not being outlandish or alarmist in his presentation. Definitely lines up with how I've been feeling about this situation since this past summer.

  7. Our little fire pit idea did grow arms and legs. I forgot to mention we're going to replace the fence too. Yikes! In Texas, you have to have a current survey that's less than 10 years old to clear title and close on a mortgage. So we fortunately didn't have to wait for that. I hope your build goes smoothly! I had one growing up. You definitely miss it when you are used to having instant access one. The rest should fly by once they get the concrete in. Or so we've been told. We had to do a little prep work in the yard today. We took down a temporary fence that we put in to keep the dogs out of a container garden and moved some things back from the edge of our patio. The kids also helped by starting the hole...they didn't get very far. We also received a revised rendering fixing how the steps and ledge meet. Basically pulling that corner out into the pool a little. They're supposed to be here around 8:30 in the morning to start taking down the fence and prepping for the excavation.

  8. I completely agree. We´re just going to ride it out and see what happens, if it´s safe we will cruise, if not we won´t. But we are not going to stay home because we have to wear masks or wash our hands (we are already used to washy washy) it´s part of life now. We´re lucky we have our cruises booked for Nov, so we will have time to see what is going on, if we get canceled we´ll just rebook. Watch out 2021, lord willing, we will be looking for sun and fun at CoCoc Cay.

  9. Juneau seems to be the one frequent port of call that appears on most Royal Alaska itineraries. Here's hoping 2022 is more normal.

  11. Transatlantic and Transpacific cruise book out very fast, especially suites. And they are only 2 of these cruises a year with each ship that travels these routes. We always to Transatlantic every spring and book within a couple days of when they come available to book. Certain categories of cabins can book out in days. I also recommend to get put on wait list and book another cabin to at least hold a spot. And a good travel agent is worth their weight in gold! Good Luck

  13. Well I stand corrected !!! (And disappointed) Who needs a travel agent for info when I have WAAAYTOOO and SpeedNoodles providing me with such a wealth of information. I think that WAAAYTOOO spends so much time on cruises that they should receive an honorary Merchant Mariner Credential.

  14. I'd also recommend working with a travel agent to make this less confusing

  15. Common sense really, if you are happy to cruise with measures and restrictions in place then book a cruise for 2021, if you dont want so many restrictions in place then dont book it for 2021 leave it for 2022 and hope things are back to some sort of normality by then ? One thing he missed out though, if you book a cruise for 2021 and dont enjoy it due to all the restrictions dont bloody moan about it lol

  16. My 8-night Southern Caribbean sailing on Odyssey in Jan 2022 is available. It looks like they just haven't posted cruises as far out as fall 2022 (which is when most Canada/NE sailings occur).

  17. @kittysoul, I've done lunch on Anthem's Izumi twice now. As @USCG Teacher noted, they (and all specialty dining venues) are only open for lunch on sea days regardless of ship. Be sure to have their specialty drink "She's a Geisha" with your lunch. Very tasty drink, light and very good as a lunch time cocktail. And only available at Izumi. ?

I'm not a scientist or health expert. I barely can put on my shirt on the right way every day. But I'd advise skeptics to look into the stringent protocols and methodologies any vaccine goes through before it can reach the public. Then remind yourself that more than 3,000 people die every year from taking Aspirin.

I so hope you're right. While I am not a praying person, you could say I have every crossable part of my body crossed!
