  1. One year ago today we were on Oasis for its first post-Amped cruise. We were the last ship out and got a pretty spectacular fireworks send off. It was the beginnings of a really nice cruise.

We're both military and I grew up an Army brat so please don't jump on us, but we found this funny. Thank you to anyone who served, family members included, past, present and future. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone! Stay safe!

We have 7 adults booked for May 2022 on symphony. I got what I consider an amazing deal. Approx 15k after a 1k credit. Less than 2,300 per person. We will get more than our money’s worth. Passengers 3-7 were about 1k each. Plus my TA has also given a very nice amount in cruise credit. I watched the boards for a couple of weeks and booked at 645 am the morning the bookings opened up.

  7. It is Star Class. The price tag varies. There are two main factors that play into how much the per person cost will come out to be with that cabin: 1) Time of year 2) Number of people you put in there (holds 14 max) If you sail during low season, and max out the occupancy, the cost could be less than what you would pay for a balcony cabin. If you book that cabin over the summer or holidays, even maxed out, it can be quite expensive, especially during Christmas and NY sailings. We lost our Villa booking due to covid, but we paid just under $14K for 14 people for a December 13th sailing. That is considered very low. I don't expect to see that price again. That was a combination of the right time of year, KSF, and travel agent discounts. With this past summer 2022 release, I did price out a sailing on SY for end of August for the same 14 people. The cost was about $32K for all 14 of us. With just 4 people, it priced out at about $22K. As you can see, it really varies. I have heard from some friends that holiday sailings are much pricier than what we priced out for summer.

  8. Considering part of Phase III testing was conducted on 5 different military installation in the United States and we have a contract for 300 million Doses of the Astrazenca vaccine, I have no doubt it will approved.

  9. Even if not approved in the US but just in Europe and other countries it means much more vaccine portions available around the world.

  10. And its not a money making enterprise. The efficacy, on 50% first dose 100% 2nd is 90%. Pretty much the same as the others. I would trust an organisation doing it for the good of humanity over their bottom line.

  13. Must admit an extra day in Rome would appeal to me , only reason i would go to port day before is i know how bad other European countries are for just going on strike and causing chaos with trains, buses etc

"Sale" doesn't mean your price will go down, just that the price showing is xx% lower than the new phantom price.

  16. I believe Canada has purchased(future dated) doses form this vaccine as well. With 3 vaccines so far that look like they will get approved and another 3-4 more i believe that are doing well in testing I am confident that 2021 is looking better. It will all come down to how quickly to get these rolled out.....here in Canada, we have no confirmation of anything yet...while in the US, sounds like vaccinations start on Dec 12 and 70% of the population to be done by May which will reach the heard immunity level and allow things to quickly open back up. IF these things happen...I am cautiously optimists that by the summer we will see cruising resume on small scale and by the fall hopefully looking much more like a regular cruise season(with still some safety precautions in place I am sure) Sticking with my June prediction for cruises to start...

  18. If no, they should go on sale closer to your cruise. I'm not expecting my 2022 sailings to be included in a sale this far out.

It’s called the Villa suite, category VS. Only available on HM and SY. You won’t find it because they go so fast! Not exaggerating at all. With the summer 2022 release a few days ago, they were literally gone within 24hrs.

  21. I enable WiFi calling often onboard, and have made plenty of calls to shore via Wifi. Just so you know sometimes VOOM is better than other times. But it works most of the time just fine for this.

  26. Also make sure you have your phone on airplane mode when making wifi calls through VOOM on board. You don't want unexpected charges when you get home.

Hi @Moira, welcome to the boards. ? As @WAAAYTOOO says, this is common practice in Europe, not so much on Royal, but very, very common on MSC and Costa, who often have boarding at 3 or even 4 ports on a 7-night itinerary. The oddest thing about it in practice is that all the onboard events are out of kilter unless you board in what is considered the "main" departure point. So, for example, if the main departure point is Barcelona then, for those boarding in Rome, the welcome aboard party will not be on the first day and the farewell party will not be on the last night. I'm not sure why you haven't noticed the Rome departures until now unless you were perhaps restricting your search to Barcelona departures, in which case the Rome ones wouldn't show up. I can assure you both departure points have very definitely existed and been on sale since at least back in May when I switched our Allure cruise from September 2020 to Harmony in September 2021. As far as the Covid-related safety issue is concerned, MSC's philosophy appears to be that it is better to have fewer people boarding at each of several different departure points than a whole mass of humanity boarding at a single one, since that makes it easier to ensure distancing measures can be properly implemented.

  30. Has anyone had any direct experience with Always Included? Our superb TA at MEI (Jacki) already checked our two Celebrity Europe 2021 sailings with one predictable result and the other extremely odd. Predictable: Silhouette APR 2021 from Southampton was roughly $1,400 extra for an 8 night cruise. This works out to about $88 per day per person (which makes sense for gratuities, drinks and WiFi). Given that we do not drink a lot and rarely use WiFi, we will stick with our original booking. No Always Included for this cruise. Odd: Silhouette MAY 2021 from Southampton (2nd leg for back to back) was $3,000 extra for a 7 night cruise. Now we are certain we will got a great deal on the original booking (at the time we thought is was good ... but not great). If we were to keep only one booking this would be the obvious one. No Always Included for this cruise either. Unless there are changes, Celebrity will probably not be a long term option for us. If you drink only a little and want to "unplug", the upcharge makes no sense. Curt from Canada

  32. Last September on the Harmony I remember sitting at the Promenade with my Caribbean Coconut espresso drink and watching all the people in white go by (it was the second Formal Night that day). They really looked sharp, and many attended dinner in their white outfits. I miss the Promenade!

  34. My last cruise memory was my birthday cruise on the Empress a year ago. I should have been on the Vision right now for my 2020 birthday, which is one item on my bucket list because I want to sail on all the ships for which the classes are named.

  35. Yeah, looks like I was correct and not long after they made an announcement either a lawyer or the CDC themselves made contact and said it doesn't work that way. I am also guessing they will probably prioritize Crown and Anchor members over general public. Why do I say this, well if you have been on a cruise with them you know some of how things work and are less likely to do things that will cause issues.

    Cruise credit audit

Same here, my FCC was cut by more than half, explaining they gave me back the monies as a refund....I only requested the FCC why would they do that? They told me when the monies were credited BUT it was a mish mosh of amounts and I attributed the amounts to my cruise planner cancellations tethered to the cancelled sailings. ( I had 3 cruises and the cruise planner purchases cancelled) The amounts were so random I have no choice at this point to just accept what they are telling me because even though my accounting here was on point, I can't figure out for the life of me what in the heck was going on, I thought I was made whole, now not so much. I learned an amazing lesson here, I will make sure to note my specific CC # every time for every purchase. I can ONLY hope I have been made whole. And I called about my additional left over FCC they were just not helpful. I Love to sail & I Love the RCCL product, I wont cut off my nose to spite my face BUT I will be so much more careful in the future. That being said...HELLOOO, where in the heck are Thanksgiving 2022 sailings???? Hi, my name is Neesa and I have a cruising problem,
