  2. Me either. We get calls on 911 all of the time that go something like this: 911: "And the female that you saw, can you describe her, please?" Caller: "Yes, she was a white female, brunette, blue jacket, elderly" 911: "And can you give me an idea of what you mean by elderly, sir?" Caller: "Oh, you know, about 35." 911: ...... bangs head on desk .....

  4. Other than the "big move" we don't have anything but cruises planned. Believe it or not, Dan has never gone to Disney World. He grew up in SoCal so he's been to Disneyland a brazillion times but never WDW. We may sneak up to Orlando once we get settled if the parks are open and we can fit it in between cruises !! We have 21 cruises on the books from Nov 2020 through April 2022. I hold out very little hope that our 4 in 2020 (2 in NOV and 2 in DEC) will actually sail, but they're still on the books and I received cruise docs for my B2B on NAV Nov 6-13. Most of these are B2B with 1 B3B (Jan 2022 on Oasis). 1 casino comp to Alaska (our first time to AK !!!!) and the big AUS/NZ/HI/? trip in March and April of 22.

  5. Yeah, you reeeaaalllly don't want to run into your past self and give them any hint of what this year has been like. ?

  6. Just FYI, while cruise planner sales are usually region and sail date specific... just wanted to let people know who are booked for Alaska in 2021, you should check your cruise planner for discounts. Just looked myself... and the DBP went from 57 down to $43, Voom for 2 devices went from $27 ( I think) down to $18. So these are real discounts on the prices and not that fake banner sale price with funny %off math they show all the time. Went ahead and scooped up some items with the Bonus OBC we had from our cancelled cruises earlier this year.

  8. You can tell them you are feeling sick and might have been exposed. There's no polygraph test that comes with the COVID test. Just saying.

  9. I think it depends where you live, there is a walk in clinic down the street from my work that does the tests with results in 10-15 minutes, you make an appt , pull up in your car, they come out, give you the test.. then you wait in your car and the walk out minutes later with the results.

  10. I don't know how long this will last, but here are the prices I saw on Cruise Planner today (9/21/2020) at 1:20 pm PST for Anthem OTS Norwegian Fjords 16-24 July 2021: DBP (it says including gratuity!): $46/day; total for each DBP was $368, so it looks like gratuity was included in the price. DBP + 1 Device VOOM: $54/day ("Each adult of legal drinking age assigned to the same stateroom must purchase this package. Price shown is per person, per day.). I couldn't tell if this meant that both had to buy DBP + Voom 1 Device) VOOM 1 Device: $11.49/day VOOM 2 Device: $17.99/day

  11. 911: "Sir, what is your own age?" Caller: "I'm 19." 911: "Please go home and tell your mother what you did. And that I've instructed you that you're grounded until she feels like you've learned the lesson." 911: "Sir, what is your own age?" Caller: "Oh, I'm 59." 911: "That sound you hear is my jaw hitting the floor and my tongue rolling out. Followed by my head exploding from the hypocrisy." ? Sorry, long day of coding and first break all day. I'm feeling kind of spicy.

  15. That is strange to me. How would the pharmacist or the bank teller know? I work retail (specialty) I know many of my customers personally, but someone coming in off the street I would not know if they were a nurse/doc, etc. I have no need to ask, thus, I cannot fathom why the bank teller or the pharmacist would ask since it has nothing to do with the transaction. Honestly, as I said to @Lovetocruise2002 in that theory, they should keep me off the ship since I have a high risk of exposure. That bank teller is probably at a higher risk than you. Think about it, money is not sanitary. I have to visit the bank to make deposits for the store. They are not wearing gloves when they do it. In that theory, they better list a "NO SAIL" order for careers all over the place. IE my DS works as a Bio Chemist, and deals with blood products. He could be infected. My DD is a school teacher. My other DS is a pilot. So, just in my family I would have 4 out of 5 that would be considered high risk. OBTW, thank you and your husband for being there for all of us. It is a calling, and unfortunately people forget the personal sacrifices that you make.

  16. My (then) 19 y/o son did the second leg of my back to back with me back in Jan-Feb. I encouraged him to go Quest even though I was too tired to go. He went and ended up being a team captain. The next day we kept running into people he knew from the night before....he was very chatty with everyone, high fives and fist bumps all around....and this is a kid who struggled with anxiety through his teen years. Ever since that week on Adventure, he has been able to deal with his anxiety in a much more positive way.

  17. One thing I would caution is that testing in the future may look different than testing today. The protocols announced are not for cruising In September 2020 but potentially for many months into the future. Testing in March for example will likely look a lot different than today. Testing in June will be different than testing in March. Testing one year from today will be very different compared to what it is today. As business travel restarts the need for non-symptomatic rapid testing will change. Personal travel will benefit from those changes. Families too will need to consider the impact of testing on their little angels. Some children may not like testing requirements. Is a complete meltdown from a swab up the nose worth it?

  19. We cruised the Freedom to the ABC islands last October. My favorite memory was the day we spent at the Renaissance Aruba on their private island! I hand fed flamingos and when we were at lunch, we were entertained by the tiny birds helping themselves to the fruit garnishes left on drink glasses after guests left nearby tables.

  21. I predict that it wont open before the US election but could open with restrictions(same as flying) before Christmas. Obviously anything can happen before then....but i feel like its possibility. It really wouldn't affect much as most ppl aren't flying or driving if they have to quarantine for 2 weeks so kind a moot point but...

  22. Over here (outside of US) to be able and take a fight you need to bring a C19 test. At first you could have done it as part of the health care system (without paying) but now they have changed it and you need to pay around 85$ it is being done at the travel clinics (were you get vaccine if you want to travel to places that requires it). Results are back in 24 hours or less but to get the test you should show a prove of a flight and a passport. As far as I know there is a certified FDA fast test (less than 30 second ) there is also another approved test , like the PCR one but that can be done with smaller equipment and gives fast results. I believe RCL and NCL will signed a contract with several labs which will allow people that will show cruise tickets to take a test and get fast results. Still , I am sure at the first cruises there will be lots of issues , not everyone will get results on time and not all people will be allowed to embark but it will become better. All until the C19 vaccine will be common enough.

  23. I was able to book Odyssey (september 2021) alcohol packages discounted from 57USD to 43USD. Was also able to buy 1 for my husband and refreshment for myself, so the package was no longer mandatory for everyone in the same stateroom. Great deal! Thanks!

  26. My thoughts: When you finish the first cruise of a b2b, you will be in the bubble. All Royal Caribbean has to do is maintain that bubble during the between cruise period. I'm guessing you won't be able to disembark and reboard, and clearing immigration will be tightly controlled.

  27. Thank you so much for posting this!!!! I must have missed the FB post that you were referring to. So glad that you posted this as I not only grabbed the Deluxe package on Anthem GC but also on two more sailings at the same low rate. Also I grabbed VOOM for two devices at $17.99 which I consider pretty good (for the sailing on Brilliance that doesn't include VOOM). Thank you!!!

  28. The last cruise I took was a quick 4 night on Brilliance with my youngest son on January 30th. We homeschool and took the cruise to see the Mayan ruins at San Gervasio (I wasn’t comfortable heading to the mainland without my husband with us). We had the best field trip ever. The other highlight of the cruise was our assistant waiter, Mauro. He did magic tricks each night and took care of my son like his own. He was awesome!

  29. We have 3 sailings booked in 2021 and am patiently waiting for the Odyssey itinerary for May & June 2022. I also totally enjoy the entire planning aspect of it, I thought about possibly doing the education and asking to join MEI but I know @Sharla makes it seem so effortless but I am sure her behind the scenes work is exhausting. I don't think I could deal with booking for me, or anyone like me and then multiply that? Nope, I'm leaving it to my expert TA guru. We usually sailed once a year, 2 the most on occasion, three is going to be amazing!

  30. The memory that brings me to tears with joy is my daughter enjoying our balcony on the Harmony November 2019. No electronics, my mini me! (and yes we had the VOOM!!) Hair up, just sunscreen enjoying the sound of the ocean, pure joy! My second picture is the "POLE" in the cabin @WAAAYTOOO warned me about, how I hated that darn pole. (yes face first into it late at night) While I have zero fond memories of that pole I sure miss it, I would love to visit her again, just saying ? Loved the Harmony for Thanksgiving, the happiness was palatable. Our entire week was a true wonderful family event, we miss sailing together....sailing takes me away to where I want to be!!! LET. US. SAIL!!!

  31. My favorite memory was shocking Mr. SpeedNoodles when we were on an ATV tour in Puerto Rico last February on our Symphony sailing - It was only the 2nd time I'd ever driven an ATV (the first time being the day before, mostly on paved roads), and the mud was up to a foot deep in places. He didn't think I"d even try to go through some of the big puddles or mud, but I just dove into them the entire time and never got stuck - he was shocked! It's not easy to shock your husband after 26 years of marriage!

  33. Is anyone else looking at 2021 vacation possibilities every weekend? My wife gets worried and excited everytime I pull out the laptop and "browse" while watching football and drinking a couple beers. It may not be a giant number for many, but I never have 3 "big" trips planned out for 1 year. 1 trip to Hawaii and 2 cruises. Just upgraded from a 3day getaway to Alaska via Quantum 7day on may 24th out of Seattle. Went with cheapest room available on this one because it was just so darn cheap($1280 for the 2 of us). This cruise was actually $100 cheaper than my 3day I had planned... no brainer. Anyone else going on this one? YOLO book it

    DBP dilemma

I purchased the DBP+1 Voom for our May Serenade Alaska cruise for $48 PP/PD. The DBP only is $40 PP/PD. I realize that the Voom is highly unreliable on Serenade in Alaska but it is what it is. Pretty good price, IMO.

  38. The CVS stores in my area are advertising that you can get your test results back in 2-3 days. I figure if I go and get tested exactly 5 days out I should be able to get the results back before I have to travel to the port. This does not leave me much wiggle room since I am sailing out on November 5 and 5 days prior to that date is a Friday. If the labs are not operating over the weekend then I would most likely not get my results back until the day we are scheduled to leave I will definitely be looking for a rapid test site and following along as to how Royal plans to handle the testing situation.

  40. Navigator four night in February earlier this year, just before everything started going haywire! Booked a GTY balcony with DX bev on a whim and stayed on the SW side of Florida with some family for a couple nights on either side of the trip, was a very easy drive over to Miami. As many others have mentioned, so impressed with the brand new upgrades on Navigator and at CocoCay - it was all just so great, especially enjoyed the escape room (set the best time on our cruise but who knows, maybe they say that to everybody) and the schooner bar, best memory probably the last sea day where patience paid off in getting a casita on the upper deck hanging there most of the afternoon and then won big in the casino that night. Just perfect. Reaffirmed my love for the voyager class, for me and what I like to do it's just the right size of ship, hope to try Freedom or Indy someday soon as well.....

  41. Zero travel booked for '21, waiting for 2022 itineraries to come and will just be booking one big trip with the family for that summer. As far as I'm concerned, 2021 is going to be another year of staycations and maybe some mini-trips to places like Cape May or maybe Niagara Falls, where we can rent a whole house / cabin for ourselves via Air BnB. So... you kinda sorta have "21 for '21". ?

  42. Since our last cruise was our first the entire cruise was memorable. We were onboard the Allure with an ocean balcony. Pretty much the entire cruise exceeded our expectations. Just hoping things will be better for our May 2021 cruise on SOS.

  43. Last Cruise was last September on Anthem to Bermuda (5 day). The Bermuda 2 days was shortened to one due to Jerry, which is hysterical because my wife and a few of her friends have an inside joke and call each other Jerry. A bunch of friends came along (invited themselves) and having them join us was the single best memory because the shenanigans that occurred all week long (even the stuff that annoyed me) wouldn't have happened without them. It just wouldn't have been as fun. I'd give anything to be annoyed at my friends right now. ?

Always lock in a low price when you see one! If it does go lower between now and your cruise, you can always cancel and repurchase at the lower price.
