  2. @twangster….Have you sailed Silversea and if so, what do you think? Funny because last night was the 1st time I ever ventured on their website. And like @rjweber3 said…..STICKER SHOCK big time!!!
  3. We had a short one for the Wonder 3/31 sailing. Basic questions.
  4. Facebook could care less about fakes or even active frauds/scams. Only bots check, humans are rarely involved. Sad, but no humans will likely ever know any of these issues ever existed (doubt they would care if they did). Truly maddening at times.
  5. Literally every single time I call and go thru the 1800 number and go thru shore excursions, I get someone who I can barely understand. They ask for a callback number and cannot even repeat it back correctly. The two times I've actually gotten ahold of someone useful they told be different answers. One said they are automatically updated in the system. The other person said they did indeed cancel them and wanted confirmation to rebook them at full price.
  6. Anyone else have any issues with Shore excursions being cancelled or messed up?
  7. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has any insight on the best way to escalate an issue with a manger or someone. So long story short, our upcoming Alaskan Cruise had an itinerary change that cancelled one of our ports, moved a couple of our port days around, and moved the times at the ports around. That completely screwed up our shore excursions. They said the cancelled port shore excursion would get refunded, which it did. They said the changed shore excursions would get updated, which they didn't. Royal is saying they cancelled them but no refunded has appeared and our cruise planner still shows our original booking number, missing the exursions but with the amount booked. Calling them so far has proven useless. Wondering if anyone has had something similar happened and any experience in how to resolve. Yes we booked with a travel agent, but they are claiming since we booked the shore excursions directly with Royal we would have to deal with them. Not using that TA anymore.
  8. Pre-covid white nights on Oasis class ships was always a popular event. I only can sail in the summer as I won't take my kids out of school for a vacation. So it could be participation was high during the summer months. I don't recall there being a white party post-covid on the sailings I been on. I wear all white in general in the summer so it's no biggie either way for me. Caribbean night doesn't make sense because it's a cruise..so generally people are going to wear Caribbean outfits on at least 2 of their sailing days.

  10. OMG, I hate the dancing and singing. And it's always the macarena, where they insist on crowd participation and my service begins to suffer.
  11. I was over the bow and right under the captain's bridge on Mariner, it was very hard to take naps during the day. I believe it was room number 1821 or 1812. It was a view of the antenna and other hardware. But the sun from the floor-to-ceiling windows were breathtaking. I just found it odd at the time that it slept 4. Hopefully dinner is/was great tonight.
  12. I wonder if Star will still have them?
  13. you do not need a passport to get off the ship in coco cay, just your sea pass card. Nassau i would recommend taking your passport although its unlikely you will be asked for it.
  14. This one is a year out, but the casino owed me so this prime cruise will help us even up Anyone else cruising with us?
  15. A generic violation of terms or something useless like that.
  16. It was the Macarena. Didn't want to leave you hanging.
  17. Despite dining solo..I can't manage to make it out of the MDR before they start the singing and dancing. Coming 15 mins early doesn't help anything..ughhhh. I didn't even order an entree this time!
  18. Hi. Bahamas will not be covered by the Schengen visa (which is for Europe) and won’t be covered by the US visa since it is part of the Great British Commonwealth. I would check the Côte d’Ivoire government website about whether you need a visa for the Bahamas
  19. Do they give a reason why it was taken down (I'm not a facebooker)?
  20. I did an infinite balcony on Celebrity and wasn’t a fan of the concept. Not a surprise if they aren’t selling. Looks like I had the same experience as @JasonOasis above!
  21. Personally I don't like the infinite veranda. While I haven't' yet set sail on Icon I did sail on Celebrity Apex just this past March on a 7 night cruise and we booked a infinite veranda and I personally would never book that category of room again. In my opinion the infinite veranda is more like a room with a window than a room with a balcony. I like being able to wake up in the morning and if I want to just sit outside I can do that without turning off the air conditioning in the room. My husband sometimes sleeps in but if I have the window open on the infinite veranda after like 20-30 minutes the room is hot which isn't comfortable for him while trying to sleep. It is a unique room/balcony but I will say it isn't for everyone or for every couple. We both loved our first experience on Celebrity but we both agreed that we would never book a infinite veranda ever again.
  22. I think this room does sleep additional guests….it seems like the couch would fold out although I haven’t tried it to see. I think you might be right about the noise….i have already heard a few grumblings in the hallway. One thing I will say about the PV room, it was QUIET ! We’ve stayed in this cabin category before and while the location is not my favorite, I do like the space and the view. This particular room is located on the port side and has a totally unobstructed view and of course, has the floor-to-ceiling windows. Some of the cabins in this category look out over the bow and IMO the view is much diminished by views of the ship’s structure and hardware such as antennae and comm towers, etc. Dan has gone for his daily sauna (which is now VERY convenient). I took a bit of a nap but it was really more of a “rest”. I never actually fell asleep. I’m not used to all the light !
  23. I wonder how many passengers ever check a price again once they book. I'm betting they're in the majority.
  24. Here's a room tour of room #14548, which is right next to 14550. It's the closest view that I could find to those rooms. I found this by checking out cruisedeckplans.com - it's a fantastic resource for things like this! I hope it helps!
  25. I wonder what the account issues were. Does the panoramic room say it fits 4? I think I stayed in one on Mariner and I found it small and noisy. I hope you continue to have good luck in the casino.
