Regina Owens' Trip Report

29Oct2011
Ship:
Monarch of the Seas
Duration:
4 night
Cabin:
inside

the staff was very friendly

What was your motivation to take a cruise?:
have been wanting to try cruising for awhile. A coworker had showed me pictures of a recent Carnival cruise and it looked like a lot of fun.
What was a highlight of your cruise?:
i enjoyed the formal night.
What did you dislike about your cruise?:
NOT GETTING TO STOP AT COCO CAY. NO COMPENSATION FOR NOT STOPPING AT COCO CAY. we had problems with our hot water in our shower and the shower curtain sticks to you. was hoping to see lobster on the dining room menu, but we figured they only offered it in the restaurant that you had to pay extra for. my coworker had lobster on his Carnival cruise.
Did you do any excursions?:
no, but we will if we cruise again.
How was your cabin?:
The bed was bigger than expected and the sheets were soft. the bathroom was the problem. we had problems with the toilet; however, maintenance fixed it quickly. had difficulty controlling temperature in shower. figured it was all part of living on a boat. the shower curtain sticks to you in the tiny shower.
How was the food on the ship?:
the food was average buffet style food. in the dining room, I ordered a steak well-done and it was not well-done at all. the waiter brought another entree. was hoping to see lobster on the menu. tried the lobster bisque and it was AWFUL! The mediterranean quesadilla was great and was probably my favorite food served in the dining room
Would you cruise again on this ship?:
No
