Palmetto's Trip Report

Ship:
Allure of the Seas
Duration:
7 Nights - Eastern Caribbean
Cabin:
9230

The ship.  Allure of the seas is the biggest cruise ship afloat, yet it is not crowded.  There were 6000 passengers aboard, and there were few lines. With the advent of making reservations for everything, the lines were few and far between.  I can see that if you did not make reservations, then this would be a frustrating trip as the venues fill up quick.

What was your motivation to take a cruise?:
My family loves cruising, this was number 14
What was a highlight of your cruise?:
The ship. One must see it.
What did you dislike about your cruise?:
Departure. While the terminal has been designed for a large amount of guests, it doesn't flow as well as some other ports.
Did you do any excursions?:
Scuba diving in St. Thomas and Nassau
How was your cabin?:
We were upgraded to a Junior Suite 6 days before boarding. Don't ask me how, but it was nice. Walk in closet and a bathtub are the highlights. http://www.cruiselinerooms.com/view_room.php?r_id=37273
How was the food on the ship?:
In the specialty restaurants, it was superb. Portions were good sized. The main dining room has changed from the standard menu, so that was good for us. Food was usually good. Crab cakes were great, had several. On the ships that have one, Izumi, is one of the best sushi places I have ever been to.
Would you cruise again on this ship?:
Yes
