Kathy Centracchio's Trip Report

19Jul2011
Ship:
Oasis of the Seas
Duration:
7 nights
Cabin:
Extended balcony ocean view

What impressed me most?  EVERYTHING!  It was our first cruise, and even though I had to visit the ship's doctor for a sinus infection (and then had vertigo for almost two weeks after the trip), my husband and I will definitely be back!  We have never had a more relaxing, enjoyable vacation!

What was your motivation to take a cruise?:
We saw the building of the Oasis on NatGeo, and realized we've never been on a cruise before. And since our theory is "go big or go home"... we booked the largest cruise ship in the world!
What was a highlight of your cruise?:
Riding the fence at Princess Julianna Airport in St. Maarten. :) Also shopping in St. Thomas, scuba diving and the FloRider. Not to mention the fabulous Royal Caribbean people!
What did you dislike about your cruise?:
The fact that I had to wear a motion-sickness patch so I could walk without falling over due to my sinus infection... :)
Did you do any excursions?:
I shopped, my husband went scuba diving for the first time. He loved it so much, he's going to do more of it on our next cruise. And shopping? I could go for that any time but it was awesome to be in a different shopping atmosphere, both on the ship and in the ports.
How was your cabin?:
Clean, comfy but major-league squeaky when the ship was rocking. The extended balcony was fabulous, but it would have been nice to have a deck chair so I could relax while reading a book and listening to the waves.
How was the food on the ship?:
Excellent! I only had one dinner that was a little dried up. Other than that, every single thing we ate was delicious.
Would you cruise again on this ship?:
Yes
