Ship:
Oasis of the Seas
Duration:
7 nights
Cabin:
9240
Central Park
What was your motivation to take a cruise?:
its the best way to take a holiday. unpack once.
What was a highlight of your cruise?:
Trellis Bar in Central Park.
What did you dislike about your cruise?:
Having been on several RCL cruises, mostly in the caribbean, we were disappointed with the level of service. Most of the staff on board seemed tired, and not the usual cheery staff we've become accustomed to from royal caribbean.
Also found the quality of the food not to their usual high standards, with the exception of 150 Central Park, we ate their twice, enjoying both of their degustation menus immensely.
How was your cabin?:
Our cabin was a Junior Suite, midship, starboard side, where the ship bulges out. as a result, our state room was larger that the rest of our level. the walk in robe and bathtub really have a great impact on your over all space and experience.
How was the food on the ship?:
150 central park was amazing, chef michael swartz really put together a great menu. Park cafe did great salads and light food, but the ordering method, a tiny post it note meant that one day i waited for 25 minutes before i went inside to find they guy had lost the little slip and had to toast another sandwich for me. We only ate in the main dining room once, braised lamb shanks were fabulous.
we ate at Johnny Rockets 3 times, and the Seafood shack out on the boardwalk. both great venues, great food, and especially like the low cost of eating at johnny rockets.
Would you cruise again on this ship?:
No
