Royal Caribbean wins Reader’s Digest 2014 Trusted Brands award

Royal Caribbean was voted the Gold Winner of Reader’s Digest 2014 Trusted Brands survey in Singapore.

The award recognizes brands that consumers find to be their first choice for trustworthiness and commitment to quality, value, innovation, social responsibility and satisfying consumers’ everyday needs. The results are based entirely on consumer voting among some 1,500 respondents in Singapore.

Royal Caribbean Singapore marketing manager, Nicole Lai, commented on the award, "Winning this prestigious award is the ultimate seal of consumer approval for Royal Caribbean, which has been consistently delivering the ‘Wow’ with its groundbreaking features and high service standards and value to thousands of Singaporean guests every year. Royal Caribbean wins Travel+Leisure’s Best Cruise (India) award

Royal Caribbean has been named the Best Cruise (India) of Readers Choice Awards 2013 by Travel + Leisure India & South Asia.

Royal Caribbean was the first runner up in last year's awards but this year they came out on top.

The readers’ poll was conducted over five months from August to December 2013, on the best hotels, resorts, spas, destinations, airlines, cruise lines and travel companies in India.

Ratna Chadha, Chief Executive, TIRUN Travel Marketing that is Royal Caribbean’s India International Representative, received the award at the ceremony tonight. She said, “We thank Travel + Leisure readers as well as our customers and travel agents for their recognition and strong support. This prestigious travel award is testimony to Royal Caribbean’s growing brand presence and reputation in India, which has been boosted by the deployment of Asia’s largest Voyager Class ships to the region and the fleetwide revitalisation in the recent years. Royal Caribbean wins big at 2014 UK Cruisers' Choice Awards

Royal Caribbean won four awards in this year's Cruisers' Choice Awards.

Royal Caribbean's sister brands Celebrity Cruises won awards in 10 categories, and Azamara Club Cruises scooped seven awards in the small ship class.

Royal Caribbean won awards in the following categories

  • Best overall ship: Serenade of the Seas
  • Best Value-for-Money: Serenade of the Seas
  • Best Dining: Serenade of the Seas
  • Best for Embarkation: Adventure of the Seas

The Cruise Critic UK Cruisers' Choice Awards are based entirely on reviews submitted by UK-based cruisers for cruises taken during 2013.

Royal Caribbean wins Best Cruise Line award for 11th consecutive year

Travel Weekly named Royal Caribbean the Best Cruise Line Overall in its 2013 Travel Weekly Readers Choice Awards.  Royal Caribbean picked up numerous honors, chief among them best Best Cruise Line Overall.

In addition, Royal Caribbean won the following four awards:

  • Best in Sales and Service (sixth consecutive year)
  • Best Domestic Cruise Line
  • Best Cruise Line in the Caribbean
  • Best Overall Individual Cruise Ship: Allure of the Seas

Winners were determined first by Travel Weekly readers who wrote in names of companies they believed best exemplified a particular category. The leader vote getters were selected from the bunch and voting on finalists took place this fall.

Royal Caribbean ranked as top cruise line for the money

U.S. News & World Report's Best Cruises rankings are out, where the magazine looked at 15 cruise lines across a number of categories and Royal Caribbean came out on top for "Top cruise line for the money".

The report compared how the cruise lines were regarded by travel experts, how they were rated by cruise travelers (using data collected in collaboration with Cruiseline.com) and how they fared in health and safety evaluations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Royal Caribbean was named best value because of what you get for what you pay for.  The report says Royal Caribbean, "doesn't sacrifice a quality experience for affordability: Royal Caribbean's fares cover lodging, dining and onboard activities ranging from youth-focused exploits like swimming and ice skating to enrichment programs like language classes and cooking demonstrations."

Royal Caribbean did well in other categories as well.  Royal Caribbean came in second place for "Best Cruise Lines in the Caribbean" as well as "Best Cruise Lines for Families".

In terms of ships, U.S. News and World Reports ranked Royal Caribbean's ships in this order

  1. Oasis of the Seas
  2. Liberty of the Seas
  3. Allure of the Seas
  4. Freedom of the Seas
  5. Mariner of the Seas

Royal Caribbean wins Best Entertainment award for third year in a row

Royal Caribbean came away a winner yet again after the winners were announced for the Cruise Critic 2013 Editors' Picks Awards.

For the third year in a row, Royal Caribbean won the Best Entertainment award for its impressive entertainment options across its entire fleet – including Broadway performances like "Hairspray" and "Chicago," ice skating productions and aerial shows.

Cruise Critic described the reason Royal Caribbean won as follows, "Entertainment on Royal Caribbean's ships doesn't stop with the theater. The line smartly uses every inch of public space to pack in music, shows, comedy and Broadway productions. While its large ships get the headlines for high-diving and ice-skating productions, passengers on its smaller ships will love entertainment options such as atrium aerial shows and piano bar sing-alongs."

Royal Caribbean wins sixth consecutive cruise line of the year award

Royal Caribbean was named cruise line of the year for the sixth consecutive year at the TTG Travel Awards Asia 2013. 

The award was presented to Royal Caribbean at the awards ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand. The TTG Travel Awards are given each year to celebrate the organizations operating in the tourism industry in Asia-Pacific for their commitment to service excellence. 

Royal Caribbean won the award in part due to its new Voyager-class ships in Asia that have brought new offerings to families, such as the Royal Promenade, the ice skating rink and sports court, as well as the personalized Gold Anchor Service, the flagship of the brand.

Royal Caribbean named best cruise line in Australia

The 2013 AFTA National Travel Industry Awards winners were announced and Royal Caribbean took home the honor for "Best Cruise Operator – Australian Based Operation".

Australian Federation of Travel Agents CEO Jayson Westbury said Royal Caribbean was bringing "big, yummy, affordable" ships to Australia.

The NTIA is an annual event in Australia, where leaders in the travel field are recognized by members of the The Australian Federation of Travel Agents.

Royal Caribbean also won an award in last year's event for, "Best Cruise Operator - International Based Operation".

Royal Caribbean wins best martini cocktail award

As part of the 2013 Bacardi Cruise Competition, Royal Caribbean won first prize for the best martini cocktail.  The winning drink, called the Med-Mary, was crafted by bartender Enrico Basile.

Royal Caribbean will be including the winning drink as part of their fleet-wide menu.  The drink was created by Basile aboard Navigator of the Seas.

INGREDIENTS

  • Salt and pepper rim crust 3 cherry tomatoes
  • 2 drops balsamic vinegar 2 basil leaves
  • 1/2 oz BACARDI® Superior Rum 5 ml simple syrup
  • Top up MARTINI® Prosecco Sparkling Wine

PREPARATION

  1. Mix the salt with a hint of pepper and make the crust on the rim of the Martini glass or a flute Champagne glass
  2. Muddle the 3 cherry tomatoes in a Boston mixing glass
  3. Add the drops of balsamic vinegar, the leaves of basil, the BACARDI® Superior Rum and the simple syrup
  4. Shake well and double strain in the glass
  5. Top up with MARTINI® Prosecco Sparkling Wine

Royal Caribbean wins Canadian travel agents award

Royal Caribbean was voted the top cruise line by Canadian travel agents in Baxter Travel Media’s 2013 Agent’s Choice Awards for the tenth year in a row.

Royal Caribbean received the most first and second most votes in the Large Ship (over 2,500 passengers) and Medium Ship (600 – 2,500 passengers) division.

Royal Caribbean senior vice president of Sales, Trade Support and Services, Vicki Freed, commented on the award, “We are honored to be recognized by Canadian travel agents as Canada’s favorite large ship cruise line. Royal Caribbean has always supported travel professionals and will continue to be the loyal and biggest supporter of the trade.
