Royal Caribbean wins five awards at 2017 Travel Weekly Readers Choice Awards

Royal Caribbean earned five wins in the 2017 Travel Weekly Reader's Choice Awards, including three major milestones — Best Cruise Line Overall and in the Caribbean 15 years running. And Best Sales & Service for 10 years straight.

The awards won were

  • Best Sales & Service: Royal Caribbean International
  • Best Cruise Line Overall: Royal Caribbean International
  • Best Cruise Line in the Caribbean: Royal Caribbean International
  • Best Individual Cruise Ship: Harmony of the Seas
  • Best Entertainment: Royal Caribbean International

Travel Weekly honored the winners of its Readers Choice Awards at a gala dinner and ceremony at the Conrad Hotel in New York. Winners were selected in 77 categories, ranging from hotels to tours to airlines to GDSs to cruise lines, represent the best of the best in travel.

Royal Caribbean named Best Cruise Line for the Money by U.S. News & World Reports

U.S. News & World Reports published its Best Cruises Lines 2018, and Royal Caribbean came away with the top honor of being the Best Cruise Line for the Money.

Royal Caribbean also came in second place for Best Cruise Lines for Families, Best Cruise Lines in the Caribbean and 8th place for Best Cruise Lines in the Mediterranean.

U.S. News & World Reports compiles its rankings based on "expert evaluations of cruise ship quality, reputation among travelers, results from health assessments conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other factors such as price class and itinerary offerings."

"There are a variety of cruise lines to consider when planning a vacation, and the Best Cruise Lines rankings offer insights to make that decision a little easier," said Gwen Shearman, travel editor at U.S. News. Royal Caribbean wins two Best Cruise Line awards of Travel Weekly Asia

Royal Caribbean came away from the 2017 Travel Weekly Asia awards with two big wins.  It was named Best Cruise Line – Asia Pacific and Best Cruise Line - Family at a ceremony in Singapore last evening.

The awards recognize travel companies and individuals for their outstanding achievements and pay tribute to the top travel organizations for their commitment, contributions and accomplishments. The winners were determined by voting by the travel trade and public on 46 categories representing the different segments of the travel industry which include cruise, airline, resort, hotel, destination, travel technology and travel agent.

Royal Caribbean named Best Cruise Operator of TTG Travel Awards for 10th year in a row

For the tenth consecutive year, Royal Caribbean was named Best Cruise Operator of the TTG Travel Awards at the 28th Annual TTG Travel Awards 2017 ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand.

Royal Caribbean has been voted unanimously by readers of TTG Asia, TTG China, TTG India, TTGmice, TTG-BTmice China, TTGassociations and TTG Asia Luxury for the award. The TTG Travel Awards are given out annually to honor organizations in Asia Pacific’s travel industry for their strong commitment towards service excellence.

Royal Caribbean won the award for offering the best product, services and facilities. This is highlighted by the deployment of the newest Quantum Class ship Ovation of the Seas in Singapore for a season this year.

Royal Caribbean wins Effie Award for social media campaign

Royal Caribbean was honored with a silver Effie award at the 2017 North American Effie Awards in the Media Innovation – Existing Channel category for the #ComeSeekLive program.

The awards ceremony was held in New York CIty, and Royal Caribbean was recognized for its work offering a first-of-its-kind live, interactive experience that was showcased on billboards on the streets of New York City, thanks to the livestreaming capabilities of the social media app Periscope.

Designed and executed by Royal Caribbean’s creative agency, Mullen Lowe, and media buying agency, Mediahub, #ComeSeekLive combined traditional outdoor advertising with the then-new social platform, Periscope. Royal Caribbean's campaign enabled consumers to interact in real-time with influencers on board the cruise line’s high-tech ship, Anthem of the Seas, sailing to five idyllic Caribbean destinations. Through the #ComeSeekLive experience, audiences were given the ability to discover and participate in adventures they never expected from the brand.

The North American Effie Awards honor the most effective marketing efforts of the year in the United States and Canada.

At the 2016 Travel Weekly Readers Choice awards, Royal Caribbean came away as being named the Best Cruise Line Overall for the 14th consecutive year.

Royal Caribbean also claimed the top spot in a few other categories including

Royal Caribbean named Australasia’s Leading Cruise Line at World Travel Awards Asia and Australasia

Royal Caribbean has won another impressive award this year, taking out Australasia’s Leading Cruise Line at the prestigious World Travel Awards Asia and Australasia, presented in Danang, Vietnam.

The award is determined from votes cast by travel and tourism professionals throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, as well as the general public.

"It’s been an incredible year for Royal Caribbean, and we are honoured to have such a prestigious international award under our belt," says Adam Armstrong, Managing Director of Royal Caribbean Australia and New Zealand.

Royal Caribbean becomes first cruise line to be named Gay Travel Approved

GayTravel.com announced that Royal Caribbean International is the first and only cruise line to receive the distinction of being Gay Travel Approved.  According to the group, Royal Caribbean "has shown an ongoing commitment to the LGBTQ community by demonstrating a spirit of diversity and inclusion on all of its 25 ships that visit exciting destinations around the world."

The Gay Travel Approved Seal of Approval is awarded by GayTravel.com to select travel partners that offer a safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQ travelers. This accolade is reserved for travel partners whom a panel of experts, editors and tastemakers have deemed deserving of a higher level of recognition by the LGBTQ community.
