Quantum of the Seas interior photos

I know I speak for many people when I say I can't wait to see the inside of Quantum of the Seas and finally see what this ship will look like.

Artist concept drawings are nice but nothing beats the real thing and now that we're just weeks away from the ship debuting, we're starting to see photos emerge of what Royal Caribbean's newest ship will look like.

Ingrid Fiebak took some really great photos of the inside of Quantum of the Seas, which is nearly complete in most areas.. She was kind enough to share the photos with us so big thank you to Ingrid!

99 days of Quantum: Art

There's less than 99 days until Royal Caribbean's brand new Quantum of the Seas debuts and we're counting down each day with a brand new blog post all about this amazing ship. Check into the blog every day for something new to read about Quantum of the Seas.

Art

Onboard Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas, you'll find an impressive art collection, including interactive art that was created by the world's best digital and video artists.  The art collection onboard is valued at $5.2 million and adds a different dimension to the ship experience.

In fact, onboard you will find 2,980 pieces of art to enjoy as you pass through the ship.

Royal Caribbean created a theme for the art on Quantum of the Seas, "What Makes Life Worth Living".  It's the common basis all the pieces of art you see on the ship have in common.

Some of the works of art we know about already are the 30-foot-tall magenta polar bear, a wall of 210 butterflies and a sprawling, undulating structure titled “Waves of Light."

Quantum of the Seas also features the SMART Art experience, which is ship-wide and includes three types of digital media: video, interactive and kinetic.  It will encourage passenger interatction with these special pieces of art and I think will be a big hit with guests.

99 days of Quantum: Jamie's Italian

In:
16 Oct 2014

We're counting down to the 99 days until Royal Caribbean's newest cruise ship, Quantum of the Seas, launches with a brand new blog post every day. Be sure to check back for something new everyday here.

Jamie's Italian

What happens when you combine celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and Royal Caribbean's newest cruise ship?  You get a brand new restaurant that delivers the kind of food one of Britian's most famous chefs loves, Italian!

Jamie's Italian was created by Jamie Oliver because of all the types of food to choose from, he loves Italian the most.

Onboard Quantum of the Seas, you will find rustic Italian dishes made from seasonal ingredients and tried and true recipes. You'll find an antipasti plank that's piled high with cured meats, pickles and tempting cheeses, pumpkin panzerotti, Prawn linguine. Plus there’s a whole array of antipasti, small plates, a gorgeous selection of grills and tempting desserts that aren't to be missed.

In terms of this restaurant's theory, Jamie designed the menu to strip food down to its essence, working with simple, quality ingredients with no pretense or ego.

Jamie's Italian is a specialty restaurant and has a cover charge to dine there. There is a smart casual dress code and it will be open for lunch and dinner.

There's less than 99 days until Royal Caribbean's brand new Quantum of the Seas debuts and we're counting down each day with a brand new blog post all about this amazing cruise ship. Check back every day for something new!

Spa Junior Suite

How can Royal Caribbean make a junior suite a better experience than it already is? By adding a jacuzzi to it!

On Quantum of the Seas, there's a brand new category of stateroom called the Spa Junior Suite with Balcony.  This new stateroom category has never before been offered on a Royal Caribbean ship.

The Spa Junior Suite comes in at 267 square feet and offers a large, spa-inspired split bath with soaking tub.  There's also a shower with frosted glass wall that allows natural light from living area.

You will find the toilet and second sink in a seperate half bath as well.

For those that want to really relax in their stateroom without worrying about getting a spot in the jacuzzi's up on the pool deck, this is the way to enjoy your junior suite.

Thus far, we do not have any photos or renderings of what this new stateroom will offer but it just sounds like a very intriguing category of stateroom to try!

Quantum of the Seas' cruise director

The heart of any Royal Caribbean cruise is the cruise director, who is the force behind all the onboard activities you find on your cruise.  On Quantum of the Seas, Royal Caribbean has selected one of the line's best cruise directors, Jimmy Rhodes, to fill the role.

Rhodes will manage a team of about 120 dancers, musicians, youth and activities staff and will head up all the entertainment for guests 18 and older on Quantum of the Seas.

If you've cruises with Royal Caribbean in the past, Rhodes' name may sound familiar.  He's been a cruise director with Royal Caribbean for over 10 years.  In fact, he's been the cruise director on Explorer of the Seas, Monarch of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas.

Here's a little taste of Jimmy from his time on Explorer of the Seas when he listed the top 10 questions cruise passengers ask.
